I have a deep respect for these bangles now. I have a problem with the fact that the are so very inexpensive. After watching all the hard work that goes into them and to hear them say they go from $1.00 for 12 bangles!, that seriously breaks my heart! Those people deserve so much more! And I can’t wait to go to the swap meet this weekend and Respectfully purchase me some bangles!!!

They "bake" the glass, which melts the seams. The decorations are attached by hand; it can take hours.

Ah. Fancier ones are not only worn by brides. They are worn by everyone. Whenever we want. If someone is as bangle-lover as me they will wear fancier ones every day too. Check out other types of bangles. Bangladesh has matir churi (mud bangle) I love them. Also kather ones (Wood bangle).

Firozabad city is situated merely hour away from Agra city famous for taj mahal , many tourists come to agra but miss the city of glass firozabaad , this city is losing its heritage due to introduction of chinese materials which are supposedly cheaper and is in grave need of conservation . So, if you are visiting Agra, please consider visiting firozabad too. The roads are very well kept and it's easy to get there . Besides bangles, you can get other items of glass such lights , chandelier, glassware for kitchen etc. Do visit .

Many break in coil that's why final check is done , they break anytime while using on impact while cooking cleaning, the expensive ones are handled carefully and used very rarely for occasion only

Probably not that much.. the owner of the factory is making money but not the workers. Probably no more than a few dollars per day

My back hurts just watching these people squat on the floor. No chairs, stools or work benches. I hope you get paid a lot and get early retirement. I'm crippled from doing back breaking work......I know what it's like.
