Welcome back, Richest fans! Have you ever stared at a crisp bill in your hand and wondered, “how were you made?”. We know we have a few times. If that thought has crossed your mind as well, then we have some answers for you today. We’re going to look at all the facts and features of printing money for numerous nations around the world. We’ll see how both banknotes and coins are created. We’ll even explore just how much it costs to create a single piece of money.
Now for the spoiler paragraph. If you like surprises, we suggest you stop reading and watch the video multiple times. Firstly, we’ll explore the United States! Starting with the work that the Bureau of Engraving and Printing undertakes in creating their various banknotes. We’ll also examine the process the United States Mint goes through to create the coins. Then, over in the United Kingdom, we have the company De La Rue that generates cash on behalf of the region's countries. We’ll then see what life is like for workers in the Royal Mint. They’re not allowed to have their own coins on site! We then have India and how their rupees are created. Both the government and the Reserve Bank of India are involved in the process. Next is the country that has the oldest surviving banknote according to the Guinness World Records, China. We’ll examine how they make their yuan, as well as printing cash for other nations. Finally, we’ll briefly explore the world record for the biggest denomination banknote, a $100 billion bill!
