On the topic of Breath of the Wild/ Tears of the Kingdom I think it's really noteworthy to have learned that Monolith provided the engine of Xenoblade 1 to template the open world. Also expanding their 2nd branch in Tokyo to 50+ members to help for botw and to over 100 for the development of totk. I really think *a lot* of the cohesiveness of those games can be credited to Monolith devs and with access to more resources I think whatever their next series is could be genre redefining in much the way BotW was. I'd absolutely love to see what original concepts they're making, especially with Takahashi at the helm

I hope they reboot the franchise with another Xeno- name, like they did with Xenogears and Xenosaga, although those changes were for legal reasons.

Idk if it needs to be better because it’s peak fiction, but just as good but different experience would be great. Probably my favorite trilogy in gaming. I will say this, I have seen Monolith Soft make strides and improvements in their game design, so I just can’t wait to see what they give us. I kinda expect 1 or 2 games next gen, maybe the new IP and the next installment in XC

TotK is the perfect jump-in point. New xeno game should bring back turn-based combat and play with the narrative, by placing story cutscenes within special moves you have to grow towards and unlock. Don't even make dungeons for the story, but make dungeons the place where you can fight a boss strong enough to unlock big special moves that trigger recurring cutscenes like the sages in TotK or The Imprisoned. Some dungeons would be impossible to clear until you can pull a certain combination, or certain team working together, but you could still access that story cutscene even without being in the dungeon. Make the open world exist inside the class leveling system of the player, but make the open world where you can travel to do side quests, exist on top of that. You have to reach that place both mentally and physically, not just move forward on a map. Differences like if you meet a zora or goron would be determined by which team member you leave behind, and that team member contributing to the special moves may have story implications. Your behavior DURING COMBAT would be like Luke Skywalker getting his lessons from Yoda and Obi-Wan, or missing them, and who he is with.

All they have to do is add rideable mechs like in Xenoblade X. Before X, we haven't have rideable mechs in an open JRPG like that since Xenogears in 1998.

What you said about marketing makes sense. I remember every time a smash character came out Sakurai gave a detail breakdown on the character. Which helped promote it

I want vehicles or skells again. We got close with the boat with XC3 but this series for me will never live down dangling Juju's buggy in my face at the start of XC1 only to realise we couldn't even drive it. It's not necessary for an RPG series like this but it's just a feel thing when it come to exploration.

It was the least entertaining of the 3 to me, but that is a matter of taste, the characters were too cartoonish for my tastes and the gatcha mechanic for blades was nauseating to me... It also waited a lot too long into the story to make tie-backs to the original, when that was the whole point of the premise, with bringing Pyra/Mythra to the World Tree, aka the First Low Orbit Station being put to the side for most of the game in favor for side character arcs. Still love it like every xenoblade of course, together they form a magical trilogy!

I really don't care where Monolith goes from here these people couldn't make a bad game if they tried but if I could choose an option I would want Takahashi to finally realize that 6 title long saga he has "failed" making twice before. Can't wait for Xenoblade 4 babyyyyyyyy! 🔥🔥

Funfact: The reason the Switch games are appearently that blurry at times is that they are some of the games that use Temporal anti aliasing(More specifically TMAA, no idea what the diffrence to TAA is) and then slap on a sharpening filter to get some of the definition back. Recommendation is that anyone who is ready to mod their Switch or play on PC get a mod to disable at least the TMAA.(And ideally get rid of dynamic resolution) On both low and high resulution, it just looks...not great and that is why there is a subreddit exclusively about TAA sucking.

Monolith Soft already has beaten Xenoblade Chronicles 1-3 with Xenogears, Xenosaga and Xenoblade Chronicles X Sales doesnt reflect the Quality! Xenoblade 1 was indeed great. Xenoblade 2 messed it up at the end and Xenoblade 3 could not hold the promise to repair the plotholes thanks to the second.

@@NuiYabuko well, the whole answer at the end doesnt make any sense. The architect created this world. 1. He threw DNA into the cloudsea and life was born. (Ahh yes. So easy. No explanation. I threw my blood into a river but nothing happened. But Im no god. Well Klaus nether. So how does he do it?! How does he even thought of it will work or that he is able to do so? I mean have you ever saw a cloudsea and the first thing that came to your mind was creating a world?? Do you really think a human that destroyed his homeworld and is beeing stuck in another dimension would ever think of himself as a god and creating a world? Thats nonsense!) 2. Blades were made to build up bonds with human(driver), earning life expirience, dying, beeing reborn to collect more until they die and finally evolve into titans. ( if Klaus can build up this world just as he pleases, why not creating titans right away? Why does it has to be so complecated??) 3. why is it possible for some blades to be drivers as well or even change themself into humanform??? They break the law of the the nature of this world and no one ever questioned it. 4. if blades are used to create titans, on what titan did the first blades and driver lived on? 5. What happened to Gramps? How is it possible he turned into a babydragon and not like any other titan into landmass? 6. Mythra changed herself into pyra. (No one questioning, how she was able to do so??? Is it just me who think this is ab bit to much arbitrarily, what blades can do and cant?)

In order of what I want: 1. Xenogears remake (finished Perfect Build mod version last night with my 17 yo son). Epic 2. New IP. I want to see something new from Takahashi. Hope it’s action or turn based. Unfortunately never loved Xenoblade combat 3. Xenosaga true remake/reboot 4. Xenoblade - think it’s best for a break before coming back. I also hope different battle system. Maybe auto attack being optional

Bro the games are good but not the best jrpg’s dho, final fantasy7-10-13 easily better,maybe some other ff games aswel, let’s be honest the voice acting of Rex (and Niah aswel in my opinion) where terrible, also the way the romance between Rex and mythra/pyra never gets really deep between them in xeno 2, it felt like the writer was planning on doing a bold move but chickened out half way into the game😂 but stil love the game dho it’s deffenetly top 5 (xeno2)

@okazakikun1 The thing is, a lot of things were done better in the other games. It tries to mix different aspects together but ultimately fails because a lot of important lore is kept in side quests and therefore can't be part of the main quest. How they made Gold rank being a scam into a side quest is beyond me. That's important information for the whole in-game world. I assumed it'd have 10 chapters, then suddenly the party was on the way to the final boss. X and Y don't even get a proper cutscene when the party defeats them.

XB3 had to live up to the series expectation that there’d be some crazy plot twist that flipped the whole story. And Takahashi said “best I can do is ch5 epilogue and then bum rush to an ambiguous ending”. The DLC fixed most of this, but I don’t think it should be an excuse for dropping the ball with XB3 when they had so much time to iron out the story compared to XB2 which has basically the perfect late game
