As a Moroccan, I will never ever forget this world cup, I was before each game in agony due to the stress and in heavens afterwards. After the game against Spain I couldn't handle anymore the pressure to watch from the TV and I booked the flight to Doha last minute and I had no idea how to get the ticket for the game against Portugal. Directly after I arrived there I met other Moroccans in the airport on the game day at 5:00 am and they told me that they are going to queue in Alwakra stadium for the free 4000 tickets reserved for the Moroccan fans and made available by the Qatari authorities and directly we went there and waited for almost 8 hours and we were among the lucky 4000 who got the tickets. We went to the stadium and we didn't stop for the whole 100 minutes of the game supporting and chanting and since the start I couldn't believe my eyes ! Every player was fighting like a real lion for each ball and the Portuguese players were at disbelief and very nervous as they couldn't keep up with the rythme. After every ball recovery, our players were turning to super heros executing the transitions at speed and technicality which allowed them to score the precious goal and some more could have been converted if the last touch was better done. After the final whistle, I was in heavens because we made history as the first African team to reach the semifinals of the world cup !! It was the happiest day of my life and I will be always thankful for our national team for such an experience! @@imane.regraguiindeed Imane. It still brings tears to my eyes when I watch the pictures and videos. You know I live in Germany since 10 years now and after this game I realized that I love my country unconditionally and since then I'm planning my return to our mother land
I still remember this game last year. Morocco surprised the World and they were the dark horse of the tournament. In fact they recorded in their journey one to the Semi Finals of the biggest upsets in the history of the World Cup.
Actually the way the world cup groups are made is the most unfair thing ever. Why can't we have a random draw without respect to the status of the teams. Imagine Morocco in their road to the semis have faced 4 big teams before playing France. Croatia, Belgium, Spain and Portugal while France have only faced one big team in their quarter final when they played England. Our players were exhausted, injured and fully consumed while France faced England and then Argentina in the final. This is unfair and we will never see a team outside Europe or Argentina/Brazil winning the world cup
@@matej9368 well they won, but were lucky to score and conceding only one. If we look at the very important match between these two in that WC ended in a draw, so Marocco proved to be about the same level
OH MAN A YEAR AFTER THIS CRAZY UNEXPECTED RUN AND I STILL HAVE GOOSEBUMPS AFTER WATCHING THIS VIDEO... THANKS TO WALID AND TO ALL THE PLAYERS FOR THIS ENORMOUS JOY THAT THEY GIVE US . AND MAYBE MAYBE IN 2030 WHEN MOROCCO WILL ORGANIZE THE WORLD CUP WITH SPAIN AND PORTUGAL MAYBE AND MAYBE WE WILL WIN THE WORLD CUP AND YES I CAN DREAM IF WE DID THIS ONCE WE CAN DO IT TWICE BUT NEXT TIME IT CAN BE BETTER.
