Cole on The Off Season Tour, North Carolina artist Morray was one of the most buzzed about upcoming names. However these past 2 years have been the complete opposite for him in terms of success... See, this happens to a lot of artists. They get excited to join a label and end up getting mismanaged or signed to a shitty deal, leaving them with nothing. Just plaques. But the labels and their management will still get paid no matter what. That’s why it’s better to stay independent and build yourself up that way. You’ll own all the rights to your music and you’ll have total freedom.

People don't seem to know how important owning your masters and being independent is. Prince didn't write slave on his face for nothing. When Prince label couldn't control him, they tried blackballing him, slandering him and spreading rumors about him. All because he wanted to renegotiate his contract and ad some fairness to it. He had to change his name and release his music under a symbol. He made 10 million dollars off of an album that he released independently. Independence is everything! Remember this.. But to be fair, the contract that Prince wanted to negotiate in the mid 90’s was the same contract he was bragging about being larger than MJ and Madonna’s at the start of the decade. Unlike some of us who may have forgotten Morray, I'm one of us who still remembered the artist on a daily basis. I used to hear Quicksand in Planet Fitness where I mostly enjoyed listening to it. He's authentic enough and can get by with the right hunger.

Had quicksand on a playlist for when I rode motorcycles and after hearing it almost daily for 9 months I hope to never hear it again. To tell the truth. I meet Morray right before he signed I throw a UP Next tour and he was on it. Back then I told him he would get signed for the Quicksand song. I played 5 different instruments in the band I Rickards right here in Tallahassee so I know sound. He is very humble. There was a accident that happen with him and the folks he came with and their name was YardGang. I want put all that out their but I promise if somebody give him a chance he will do the work. It's sad how most folks do you. Morray if you see this hit me let's go back to work from the ground up.
