How much did towns improve in Tears of the Kingdom?

15:23 I think the reason that most of the towns don’t have a shrine near them is because every surface shrine is directly above a lightroot and almost every town is directly above an abandoned mine in the depths. There’s just not enough room at most of the mines to fit a lightroot so the lightroots and shrines are placed at slightly awkward positions.

A nice touch is the guy in the jail cell in Gerudo town is actually a guy from a quest in botw where you give him some flowers to make him more confident to ask someone out which quintessential is the gerudo that is his wife

I wish Hyrule Castle Town could have slowly been rebuilt throughout the game. When you start a play through you can see that reconstruction has begun, but it's just a few scattered foundations and they never get any work done on them. Rebuilding is kind of a theme in the game, and the town was such an immaculate centerpiece for Hyrule in its heyday. It would have been fun to come back to the town every once in awhile and see how construction has progressed. Maybe help out with a few of the structures like Lurelin Village. Especially how this is likely the last we'll see of this version of Hyrule. Also it would've been fun to see how they deal with Hyrule Castle being so high up afterwards like if they had a post-game. God I wish this had a post-game.

I definitely agree with you on those criteria for a good rpg town, a town that feels alive because of the little details you can find and lets you see what things are like for most people. I also enjoy good side quests that help do that by connecting well with the character, town, and overall world, and meaningful character interactions. I recall in Dragon Quest IX that there's a bunny girl side character in a very shady town that tells you about how she's saving everything she can get so she can get herself and her son out of there and post game, you can visit again and see that they're on their way out. I would have loved to have been able to help her raise that money, but I still loved that little detail. And there are a lot more like it before and after major events that help give the world life and character. I think you would have a lot of fun covering Dragon Quest IX for this series.

I really love Gerudo Town, it should get S Tier imo. But rlly valid Tier List!

To me and my brother, we found the most irritating part of Lurelin Logging were the sages, particularly Mineru with a cannon, as they could break the logs. Aside from that, there are more than enough oaks and evermeans right outside the entrance.

My idea for getting all the logs into Lurelin Village was pretty bad, but also effective. I found out that the logs don’t get destroyed if you rolled them down the hills, so that’s what I did. I stuck all the logs together and just rolled it down to Bolson. Oh- and a quick tip about the logs. If you drop them, just Rewind them and then you can use Ultra Hand to grab them again during your Rewind. That’ll get them out of the water for sure. I still love Rito Village. It’s so calming there. Easily my favorite of the Regional Phenomenon towns. Sometimes I go just to hear the music and to visit Tulin. Not too much to do after the quest, but sometimes it’s about the vibe. I could actually live here.

I liked the towns in both games and I thought it was cool how they got affected by the upheaval. Also, are you ok Mr games? You said beans are one of the only things you can eat at the moment.

My problem with the towns is... There are still too few of them in this huge world. Lookout Landing is the only addition to those of BotW and that's disappointing. Gimme one in the sky, a rebuilt town on the great plateau and a snow folk village in Gerudo highlands or Hebra and Iam fine. Still too empty world :(

In BOTW Lerulin was my least favorite town and now its one of my favorites in TOTK. In BOTW it was jsut this tiny, completely unimportant little seaside village that only had a bunch of fish and a minigame or two.
