Wow!! crazy prices... I quoted a concrete pool 3 years ago and it was 24K and even then i said screw that I aint paying that crazy price ill wait for it to come down, now its 100K. Worse decision I ever made.
I had a pool guy tell me 60k I said he was crazy . He said my friend it Covid and everyone is paying these prices come see in 3yrs when things slow down and I could do the pool for 35k. 🤦♂️
People spend 70k on cars/trucks which are junk in 10 yrs. At least the pool is there and still usable. I'll wait until this recession hits. These pools companies will be giving them away to stay in business. To many people buying pools who can't afford them.
Get above ground pool your kids will use it for 2 years then get bored with it you can throw it away and plant some grass total amount saved 39,700$- 89,700$ 🙄
Wow in MX they charge 90,000 pesos for pool, pool system. The owner is to hire someone to dig and set up the concrete surrounding the pool or pavers. Which it could be another 20,000 pesos. That’s about 5,000 dollars for a fiberglass pool installed…
Simple task to save a ton of money - create an llc, open a bank account and become a pool dealer to buy direct. Then find an installer as dealers make the bulk of backend profits on markups and labor
This video is not accurate at all, just installed a pool at a friends house for $18,000.. mind you this is a DIY project. The insert itself was $9,800. We handled the machine rental pull the permits ourselves. Did pavers ourselves and it ended up being a very cost efficient project.
Nice!! Thinking of a DIY myself. I own a dumpster rental and Demolition company myself so I have access to heavy machinery. For $18k I could definitely get this done.
Was it fiberglass? How big is the pool? I’ve seen those DIY kits (not fiberglass) and am so tempted! You know, people like you with some experience and knowledge could make extra money just helping out fellow homeowners do their own DIY projects 😀
Diy kits are vinyl liners. Not fiberglass. But definitely tempting when you look at how much you save. I don’t think anything over 50,000 is reasonable.
It's all a rip off like everything today, my inground gunite pool 20yrs old cost $35grand, same work product digging cement labor etc. Different type of people in a very different time bcz it's allowed.
Pool shell, basic install: $60k. waterfall, waterline tile, heater, other accessories: $10k. Retaining wall: $6k. Concrete: $14k. Fence: $5k. Landscaping: $20k...my experience for anyone curious (not Riverpools, but another fiberglass brand.) Your mileage will vary, but I’d bank on at least $100k!
I thought fiberglass is cheaper than a concrete swimming pool!! These prices explained seemed similar to the cost of cement swimming pools expensive!!! It’s cheaper to go get the storage container swimming pool!
You forgot to mention that pool prices are currently sky high! I finally got my finances together for a previous quote only to find the pool shell prices have gone up 3 times!! I would wait until prices come back down a bit. I'm not paying a $20000 price increase.
Thanks for watching and commenting, Kenny. No denying that prices have increased. The cost of raw materials has increased dramatically. Best of luck on your project when the time comes!
@@Frescobar170 In my opinion they will only increase. Labour costs are going through the roof and demand is crazy high alongside a small supply. The pool dealers in my area can't find any installers...Average fibergalss turn-key project in Ontario, Canada is 85-180k at the moment depending on materials/scope
@@RiverPools yeah...i don't buy into the propaganda. San Juan dealers have dozen of models stacked up. They said the same thing " Oh the resein is from China and it is hard to get ahold of". Ok....but the price to rent an escavator should not have increased. The cost to haul dirt should not have increased. Replacement sod, no shortage. Gunnite or shootcrete I can believe it higher....because of the rebar and 2x4's used to mold and form pools. It is very coinsidental that people are staying home and wanting pools that the prices have doubled....
Several years ago, my boss needed to replace his white halogen spa light. I suggested he go LED and have infinite colours to choose from, by remote. The original pool company wanted $570.00 just for the bulb. I went on Amazon and found the same bulb for $120.00. You have to shop around. Pool companies are notorious for their ridiculous markups.
Recent quote from our local RP contractor is 81k for large (40ft) pool. Extra for coping, concrete for patio area, led lights, salt water, extra water… definitely a six figured project
Yeah just bought a pool for $875. Swimming in it just fine. 🤷🏽This shit is over rated and in the winter months I get my yard back to do other things so…
35x15.5 fiberglass with 400sqft of extra concrete, saltwater, heat pump, led lights, 8x2x2 waterfall, electrical, permitting and fence upgrade and it is gonna run me 99k almost on the nose.
I had a quote from a builder in 2021 and it was $75k for a basic gunite inground pool. That same builder is having a sale this summer 2024 for the same basic pool for $45k but I still rather save my money and bought an above ground pool. Myself and my kids love it haha reason for not pulling the trigger now is mainly due to the fact that we totally relandscaped our front and backyard and don’t want to tear up the patio and landscape with machinery.
Nobody should be making large purchases like this in 2022(or 2023 for that matter). You will be dramatically overpaying, due to inflationary and supply pressures, as well as outright price gouging by the pool industry.
Not worth it. I have a huge pool and used it about 5 times in 4 yrs, but in those 4yra I have spent over 20k on that pool and I didnt wven build it..it cam with thw home.
I got a quote this week for a full fiberglass pool install. After pool, electrical, concrete, plumbing etc etc we were at about $160k, with literally nothing fancy at ALL.
I use this video to show my customers that fiberglass pools are not CHEAP. For whatever reason people have this ideology that they are but that's just cause they're ignorant. Thank you for this video, it really helps solidify and justify my prices.
Wait until the economy craps out. I had a small vinyl pool put in last year, and it was around $35,000 not including fencing and landscaping. I spoke with a neighbor who had theirs done in 2009. It's twice the size of mine, and cost about half as much.
My friend just installed one and with permits decking plumbing and electrical it was 100k total and keep in mind, it adds zero value to your home vs. an outdoor full sized pool. Just my agent/broker opinion.
I feel like location is key. Ofcourse in places with less demand it’ll be on the cheaper side. I heard a guy say he spent 25k here in Ohio. I bet he probably had already dug the hole or something because that’s what ppl do here 😂.
40,000 to 90,000 no way that's a RIP OFF this is the thank american made item cost when probably u get it over seas anyway.see america always trying to get over so i hope america keep international trading.
Video was informative the 'music' at the beginning was loud and awful and I nearly turned the video off. Just FYI head bangers are not in the majority.
Hello, we live in NW Washington state, outside Olympia, and we are having a heck of a time trying to find a pool company to put a pool in our backyard. It has always been our dream to install a pool. We have lived in our home for 20 years, and finally, after clearing trees and leveling out our yard, we were ready! Then COVID hit! We fell in love with the idea of a fiberglass pool and hot tub for its simplicity, but for the past two years, we have been searching for a pool company that can do the job from start to finish. One company said they would do the job, then flaked out on us just before we put the money down! Needless to say, it has been the most frustrating journey we have ever been on! Do you know of any company around our area that can do the job from start to finish for us or recommend any? Thank you!
Wow the prices in America are outrageous, and I thought the prices here in France were high, makes me feel a lot better about the quotes I've been having for 25000€ including all the lights, heat pump and equipment...
Way too much when you have a bad river pools installer! Also when river pools did nothing to the contractor! Love river pools but I am disappointed how they handled my install.
that's a house price now i understand inflation but i will get mines from oversees and with shipping cost and come out cheaper then what AMERICA wants to charge united states does not need to start making american made items when we can get it for less from china .thats EXACTLY why America is behind china because America always trying to get over with high ass prices
anyone making a purchase at the moment is paying overprice on everything, I am glad I only owe 130k with a 2.3 interest on my home in CA, and ill just by a 200 hundred dollar pool.
Yeah you may be paying a little more initially up front but you're paying for a higher quality pool and saving in the long run when it comes to maintenance and upkeep. Plus there are other factors to consider like fiberglass being a non-porous material and not having to worry about algae/mold ruining the pool if your equipment were to stop working for some reason. You end up using less chemicals in a fiberglass vs. concrete which means less money. Plus you're paying for the convenience of being able to actually swim in your pool faster considering the build times for Fiberglass are exponentially quicker. Just some things to think about.
@@kylerdorries8359 i am looking into a pool and definitely looking to fiberglass...but these pools should top out at $75 grand with rock features and a cage...unfortunately eveyone is trying to exploit the consumer....i know someone who two years ago got a sexy pool for $35 grand that now if $85....impossible
@@kylerdorries8359 not totally accurate. You don't use any less chemicals in fiberglass vs gunite. You are treating the water, not the surface. Fiberglass maybe quicker install, but I do a Fox pool in about a week and a half.
I just put one in my yard--NO--There are lots of tricks to getting it right. plumbing, leveling, tile, concrete, hooking up pump and filter to control panel. I suppose one could be it would not come out good. The sand has to be put in around pool a certain way.
