@@nonoyesyes8641 Totoo po. You either put on your shoulder or just carry it on to your palm. There are also trials that we encountered resulting to lost of savings and businesses. Life is unpredictable. Family obligations done wholeheartedly are like giving back to parents who have sacrificed for us while we study to have a degree. =)

It's true that supporting our family back home in the Philippines do get in the way when it comes to achieving personal financial freedom. I'm 37 and I still am trying/struggling to achieve that. I do know that if I were only spending for myself then I would have achieved my financial goals by now. I give wholeheartedly back to my family because they struggled to support me financially for my education. I feel like if I was living in a country like the US and finished all my degrees there I would be saddled with hundreds of thousands of student loans up to this day. It's my personal choice to give back. No judgment on those who don't. We all have our own reasons and struggles why we do what we do. That being said I still do dream of a future where the majority of aging filipinos would be financially stable and won't have to rely on the younger generation for their living. I'd love to see that day when this seemingly unending cycle of financial burden is broken in our nation. But for now it is what it is.

That's sad Ms Marga na some obligations hindered you to achieve more. But dont take negatively or something against you... our family needs help. With current situation ng bansa, hindi kaya ng government to give our families a better life like abroad... kulang sa education and research, palpak sa health, low wage... kaya nga po tayo nag abroad kasi tayo mismo, d natin atim yun mababang pasahod. Kaya we cant blame our parents kung bakit mahirap tayo... kasi tlgang mahirap tayo na bansa... plus laki pa ng corruption... if only the government could feed our family or give decent jobs, d na nila po kakailangain un financial aid... just look it as extending your blessings to ur fam na slim un chance to work abroad.
