In this video we answer the question: "How much does a festival campsite from Walmart cost?" by heading to a Walmart to help my homie Conor shop for his Lost Lands campsite setup. He only had a cooler and a sleeping bag checked off on his packing list so this was the perfect opportunity to see what kind of items I feel are essential for a festival, why I feel they're essential, how much they cost individually and how much the total bill comes out to.
I made this video for people who have never been to a camping festival before and have no idea what to buy or how much money they could be potentially spending. This video could also be intended for someone flying to a festival and having to buy a campsite upon landing to setup at the fest since you can't pack a campsite on plane. Lastly, this video could be for someone doing last minute Walmart shopping on the way to the fest and need to quickly find out what items they should buy or maybe forget and where to find them in the store.

I have one other essential item that wasn't mentioned..... one of those stand-up tent showers. They are really inexpensive and work off a solar shower bag. The bags are black and heat up the water in the sun in an hour or less. I bag will get you about a 15 minute shower.....so nice to set the bag up at night so you can have a shower when you wake up....Ahhhhh!!! 🧼😅🚿

Top notch video. This is great for a first time camper, then they can upgrade after seeing what they liked and didn't like at the end of the festival. Everyone is different and what is essential to one person is just recommended by another. Festivals will show you what type of camper you are QUICK!

great tips!! We're at the point where we're replacing/upgrading our festival setup, and we do a dark room tent. My advice is that - when you can - you want 2 awnings. one for your chilling area and one for above your tent if you have a dark room tent. They stay dark but HOLD ON TO HEAT. We found this out at Secret Dreams 22 in Ohio in August. I was able to sleep in until 10 but my Fiancée had to get me out of there bc apparently it was way too hot. You have to close off all ventilation to get it dark enough to stay asleep & that leads to it getting HOT. Ideally, a light-colored awning too, to bounce that heat & sun away. We added a 2nd white pop-up Tipper & Friends Suwannee FL in 2023 and its possible temps were lower in May in FL vs Aug in Ohio, but I never had an issue with that tent getting hot with the awning above it. The heat can pull hours of energy from you and keep you from getting enough sleep to party all night so it's a priority for us!

can we talk about sleeping. those thing style air mattresses deflate really fast overnight and you wake up on the ground and don't sleep well. spend the extra few dollars and get the super thick ones!

Agreed! I have a $80 Queen air mattress and it was life changing. Awesome investment. I wanted Conor these are gonna be one time use and will have to be inflated often

I'm planning on going to Lost Lands this year and have all of my camping gear. Could you do a video like this for people who are not car camping and flying in with their gear? Like what gear to pack to fly with? Also, have you ever had any issues with people getting into your tents or people stealing from your camp site?

the tents are always the best too because shit you can even camp outside of music festivals with your friends so youll 100% get your moneys worth of it
