That's the truest interview answers I have heard. She was actually correct about the freelancing part and starting salary too, all depends on the portfolio and the quality of the work that you provide.

I think it's easy for normal people to assume that AI will take over and people will be jobless but what they don't know is that AI designs can be quite detectable after a point and it's quite limited. But creativity isn't . If someone wants to build a brand and they need a logo or packaging design they want something that stands out or something that tells their story and no AI can give them that. That's when a designer comes in and understands what their customer wants. AI is just like how computers were when they first came in . We have to work hand in hand with them. Maybe take ideas or basic structure to start your design but just using the exact AI design won't let it stand out and thats not what most of the brands want
Yeah Ai wont change much. People said the same about NFTs. Its cool relatively new tech but it has to take its art and design from somewhere even if its compiling and morphing it into each other. You'll still see obvious art styles and design elements. And it'll be developing that database based on what's being generated most so the designs wont be the best or super creative, itll be decent and digestible for the general public. A professional designer could take any Ai design and make it better really easily. Itll probably stick around but as a niche tool to get colour composition inspiration or getting ideas during a burn out
To all the non-designers in the comments making wild claims about AI taking over Graphic design: STOP 🛑 talking about things you have little-to-no knowledge about. You're making a fool of yourself, nothing more.
@@hseindesigns My sister is a data scientist in a big Airline industry....Their company is already working on AI, to replace graphic designers...dont say if u don't know the reality..😟
Entry level it is more like 10-15k and good portfolio - 15-20k or 25k(it is rare to get 20-25k and places like bangalore type are even weirder as there are more people so more option for company so they try to chose candidate who take less) G.D is growing opportunity but in india it need some time for it to get proper recognition as less people are aware of it
Freelancing is the best for designers who are originally creative and have a great passion to create & learn. In 3-4 years of experience you can reach monthly income of 1lakh & plus. The key is branding your designs, seeking for high end projects & delivering the designs beyond the expectations of clients
I finished my school last year and been designing since 2020 when I was in class 11th. Now I have 5000+ followers on twitter, great connections & portfolio. Almost making 70-75k per month through freelance
@@MadeByAjit please may I know the freelance website it will be helpful now I’m totally hopeless because not getting a job as a3D artist & graphic designer
It's true, but it also depends on where you are going to work as a fresher. If you work in a design studio, you'll get 25-35k, but if you work in a good startup or a big company, 40-45k is normal. I worked at a startup as a fresher, and my salary was 43k. + A good and strong portfolio is everything
I don't know why are people so scared of Ai in terms of design specially. Ai produces absolutely dogshite designs even after giving a proper promt. I have been experimenting with it for quite sometime and the result it gives, disappoints me every time. Also, not to mention even if they get the promt right, they look so fake and overly done. The Packagings have no uniqueness at all. If 10 people gets a design or Packaging out using Ai, all are gonna look the same after a while on the shelf. They look extremely fake. So yeah, even if i was not a brand designer, i would never chose AI to design my brand and Packaging. Now, in no way i am being ignorant that Ai is a game changer. It can surely help a designer in other aspects like mockups maybe or copy and for content ideas or even generating briefs for dummy projects for portfolio. But in terms of design, naah AI sucks!
@@hihi615 Surely. I agree with you completely. But as you say, it's still gonna take a few years right. So, do we sit succumbed in fear of when ai is gonna take over us fully or we take actions and sharpen our skills to be irreplaceable. You will never buy a car and park it in your garage in the fear of getting into accidents. Will you? I am also sure of the fact that big businesses who have massive budgets are never gonna go for cheap subscriptions based Ai apps. Also because there's no human emotions and touch in ai generated work. Right now it is very overly and fake looking. Even if they improve it over the years, they won't be able to bring that human touch or somewhat imperfectly perfect work. The art that humans do have some kind of imperfections and that makes it special. Ai will never achieve that.
Mam, the problem lies where people who are not in the designing field doesn't really look into the complex things.. so ai art for a designer might be mediocre.. but for the majority public it's "oooh thats so cool and pretty and more important free.." ..
Because she is from shristi she got internship and good job i know guys in graphic for 10 years and still get 40 to 50k you have grow individual and strong communication skill freelancing is worse they 90 percent client will say for logo design we will pay 1000 and there are junior designers are will to do it for free for sake of portfolio So keep learning and learn skills and tools
that is the reason we can't grow in the field of designing ..even in this era ...there is only a few people who owned this rest are just struggling even for their expendings
She needs to redesign either her clothes or her body to suit those clothes.. Btw, for any computer field, don't waste your time in college, get a good course instead bcz that will also provide you some practical with experience with clients. Just don't waste your money and time in a college degree. College degree is just for the clerical workers or for those who don't want to learn anything in future and just want a lame life with lack of skills and creativity..
No dear... No, freelance is more bad, half of the people don't even pay. Even if u get a 20k gig, there's no guarantee you'll get paid. Talking out of experience.... Edit : for everyone schooling me on how to make contracts, I know that. I am a professional, i earn well too. The purpose of my comment was to let people know its always not as colorful as they might think. Real world is brutal and people need to proceed with caution.
hey! please may i ask if it would be worth it pursuing graphic designing? I've just started researching about this... & i feel like i am lost, idk what to do, graphic designing, being one of the few fields that got my attention & interest, am confused about it too... what course & college/university would be best for pursuing graphic designing? I've just completed my 12th (comm.) & I'm a bit confused. I want to pursue something which can guarantee earnings afterwards also & which have my interest. Also, one more question, can i do graphic designing course along with some other course/degree? like doing it while doing some other course also?

@@a.g.613 but before all that, you particularly need to know your niche, like you are into which type of designing, which type of designing you love, there are several types of designing, like UI/UX, branding, illustration, social media designs and much much more, i will be suggesting first of all, learn the basic tools (like photoshop , illustration, after effects (if u wanna do video editing) ), and then afterwards start creating the shit out there, either you like to make logos, or cover arts, ui/ux or else, once you'll find your niche, start refining it, just remember you'll be getting your hard work pay off soon, just grind.
I don't know how people say so much about AI. I understand it played a huge role in simplifying things. but It cannot give best outputs. ever tried to get something done with the help of AI? it never feels complete. you got to modify that with yourself. I agree the time required to complete can be reduced, but a human touch is necessary and inevitable at the end.
To those in the comment section coming after her. Dentsu is a decent place to begin her career. It really depends on what the designer's goals are in this field. Internship and initial training phase is where the designer learns beyond just skills. For designers if getting a higher salary is more of a priority then wait it out, negotiate if you're confident of your skills and knowledge. But if you're still learning and need time, use this training period well.
Any bachelors degree for that will work, but for specific courses liberal or fine arts are completed in 45-100k in duration of 2-3 years, which you can make up with internships during that period as well

AI cannot take over graphic designers, as it is sourcing form existing work. Same way that (copy)writers cannot be fully taken over. AI is a tool to help form creativity and help along. But u cannot create a full brand identity with AI, you will get issues with copyright. While AI can be used to automate certain aspects of design, such as generating layouts or color schemes it can not create priblem-solving creative ideas, and the critical thinking of a design that graphic designers implement. I believe, theres ZERO jobs that can be fully 100% taken over by automation, or AI as human touch is always gonna be necessary
