Luck only necessary when its compared to an NP or skill. In other words, only against Gae Bolg. Luck isn't plot armor. You can have E rank luck and still live to the end like Archer. Conversely, you can have EX rank luck like Francis Drake and have Shinji as a master while fighting the FIRST ROUND AGAINST THE PROTAGONIST. Luck is just a statistic. That's all.
@@eduardopantoja9115 I've only seen that stat matter for only Gae Bolg. There isn't any other skill or NP that interacts with luck for some reason. The stat only exists for the sake of interacting with Gae Bolg outside of gameplay mechanics. Hell, I've seen skills that literally exist only for interacting with Gae Bolg even when the owner of the skill doesn't have anything to do with Cu Chulainn.

You say the EMIYA's have bad luck but EMIYA Assassin basically has a bullshit skill that boost his luck stat Grace of the Holy Grail: A+ He is deeply loved by the Grail of a certain era. That love rivals the greatest curse in the world. The existence of this skill raises his luck stat greatly. He can even prevail over Servant abilities that can only be broken through in certain conditions. This good luck, however, mercilessly steals away the happiness of others.
Luck is best compared to a saving roll effectively the higher it is the more likely your saving roll is to succeed. This means nothing if your saving roll is against Idk getting ran through the organs with a sword or something Luck has zero factor in that.
uhh no bro Saber was ruptured through her organs and she had internal bleeding via the Gae Bolg and her luck literally said NOPE didn't happen never happened it literally saved her from that whole ordeal shit even healed despite the spear's negate heal effect
I dont remember where i heard this but i remember someone told me that luck refers to someones ability to defy fate. Characters who die to a death that was preordained tend to have low luck, while people who manage to change their fate tend to have high luck.
I already made a request but at some point (if you haven’t already) could you do a deep dive into Touko Aozaki. She might be my favorite character (besides best girl Rin lol) in the entire Nasu’s multiverse. Question: From what I understand is that Touko Aozaki now has multiple dolls that have fragments of her soul and can act independently. But are they aware of each other's experiences, like something akin to a hivemind? Cause we know that she at least has a failsafe where if one of her dies a new one takes their place with a copy of her memories, but what's the limitation? Example, if a Touka, one that works in the Clock tower, meets a person of interest and that person of interest meets one of her doll duplicates of herself somewhere else, would that second Touko know that person or at least be somewhat familiar with them? Are they all sharing data to one another? If so then that would make her one of the most knowledgeable Magus in the current era. Second Question: Why can you summon a Servant during different points in their lives? Why do Lily's and older variants of the same Hero exist? Like why is Archer Gilgamesh the version of his younger, tyrant self and the Caster Gilgamesh was after his journey for the herb and became the humbled wise king, why not summon the Servant with the full experience and maturity despite their class? I assumed that the Servant summoning system made by humans were flawed, but there are rouges servants that are summoned by the CF in FGO as younger or older versions of themselves. Why does this happen, what's the benefit of having a specific version of a Hero at a specific point in their lives?
I would say, Fanservice 😂. But in lore reason it have logic behind, i personally think the real reason is Compatibility and human perseption of the servant. Take, For example Charlemagne. He has 2 versions: The young saber form, "Charlie" and Ruler old form "Karl". Charle is the Fantasy and leyends arround him, meanwhile Karl is the Historicly Carlingian King. Also compatibility has a important role too, let say you have somethin to summon cu, but you are not Rin thosaka and you don't have Mercury, mana Crustals and all that Funny stuff, so you make a Waver velvet and you use chiken blood for the seal, obviusly you dont gonna get a extreamly Powerfull version of him, maybe the Youger mainset of Setanta (Pre-Heroic challenges cu) is more compatble with you, and its summoned.
I think of Luck as a board game(D&D, WH40k, etc.) E = 1 🎲(1-6) D = 2 🎲(2-12) C = 3 🎲(3-18) B = 4 🎲(4-24) A = 5 🎲(5-30) EX = ∞ 🎲(∞) Even if you're Luck is A but all of your rolls is 1(5) then your actual luck in the situation is less than the max of E = 1🎲(6)
It kinda is sometimes, for example Pokédex entries like spoink just sound spooky for not reason when it doesn’t even happen, and some stats don’t make sense in practice, for example iskandar dodged sabers Excalibur point blank even tho he has d rank agility
Wasn't Saber allowed to dodge Cu's Gae Bolg because of a combination of Instinct and a high luck stat? If so, I think this could be the most prominent example in which their luck stat actually matters.
How are some of the masters able to summon servants who can’t be summoned Like perseus who said that he had no wish for the grail since he was already satisfied Pale rider
I think it just has to do with the catalyst for a specific servant, whether or not the grail was hacked, and if the servant answers the summons or not.
@@thirdplanet4471 In terms of Moon Cell... Well... Moon Cell has no restrictions. In terms of Grand Order... I don't know that version of Fate. In terms of Fate VN Game / Anime... True. A specific item is required to summon specific Servants. Otherwise, you get a random Servant.
@@absolstoryoffiction6615 I always found servants summoned without a catalyst to be interesting l. Apparently, Sakura summoned medusa without a catalyst and ilrc this makes them a stronger pair than normal servant master duos
@@thirdplanet4471 True... Having a Catalyst or a Catalyst + the summon being a Counter Guardian has its perks. (Archer). Compared to the standard way of summoning Servants.
@@thirdplanet4471if you have no catalyst, the grail will choose a servant that has a personality to match you for the sake of team work. this doesn't mean you and your servant will always have the same personality though. it like intp match in infj or something like that.
I don't see why Sanson has A Rank luck. He was a more unlucky person in life. Like the time he must left school because his father got recognized as the royal executinor, or as his son died by falling of the schaffot.
You this is a one I’m more perplexed by is how does home advantage buff a servant as in does it just give them physical buffs or does it give them other things like np’s / new abilities / other weapons if you do know I’d love to have more clarification on this like what’s the difference from herk being in or not being in Greece
EX Luck is the only thing that matters the rest is complete rng even in A++ just like the fgo gacha lol. Because the factors in Luck in the nasuverse is oddly something that don't/do matter depend on the circumstances.
