Good demo of the flood gravel taking a shortcut, Andy's "Gutter Trash" sluice so nifty, and shortened run of cons, that's good prospecting. The circus of bags and gear for going feral, versus a backpack for a duck-off for an hour or three. Onya Frenchy. G.
Nice work mate I would have had a yabbie pump at the base of the waterfall As I get good gold there at times snipping That second area had the goods thou nice Always in my opinion feel with ya hands at the bottom of waterfalls See if any backward cracks they sometimes have pockets Cheers 🍻 Great vid and I subbed will do ya a shout too soon Cheers CrouchOz
@@anothergoldprospector yeah my plans went everywhere when I realised it was my mum's birthday party tomorrow so Vic pushed me for a Saturday session (he didn't have to try) and here we are. Lol
Good video. My grandfather in 1968, walked out from his Spotswood home to Stony Creek. He panned up some gold specks in the creek. He surmised that the Westgate Bridge construction work in the area would hit the same quartz bed, which runs from the Ballarat area. He didn't pan a lot, but it was enough to confirm his theory. Grandad also built a few metal detectors, but had little success with them. He had the gold bug.
Nice one interesting . I hope you prospectors try to leave the place as you found it when digging in natural places like that . fill in holes and tripping hazards and stuff . happy prospecting !
@@frenchys_prospecting sounds good . maybe encourage it in your videos to show people how to do the right thing . I once came across this beautiful spot and someone had been prospecting there and left the place in a shambles . if people leave it like that they will bann it for sure
@@BushKayakersCampingAustralia unfortunately some people will do that regardless of whether it's banned or not but you're right. I should encourage it. We actually filled that hole with medium sized rocks and dirt. It's not hard to remove again if you want to come back.
Nice work mate in the city creeks. Just a tip with the small sluice, don't walk in the water flowing into it, the surges will lift up the concentrates as those waves roll through. Congratulations on 100 subscribers, I've just jumped on board. Cheers 🍻
@@frenchys_prospecting Thanks man, 3.5 ounces came out leading up to it. That creek you found looks like a nice bench on that bend. Dig on. Cheers 🍻 and looking forward to future videos
@@rumpig845 thats just the small bench. There's a confluence up further and it has produced to mid creek gravel bars. Hopefully getting back there next weekend.hopefully the water has dropped a few inches by then.
Good video mate, i dont know if it was my phone or the vid. But the audio kept cutting out altogether in patches?? I am glad the "Adventure sluice" worked well. Change the mats between runs to see what works better on the creek, different spokes for different folks! Cheers Frency, catch up soon. Regards Andy PPA
@@andypandyAU.6669 yeah I actually swapped mats up at cresi and found the carpet worked best. I haven't tried bunnings moss yet but ive got some at home. I think the audio is an issue on my end. Cheers for pointing it out. Defo catch up when you're back. How's everything going up there?
@@frenchys_prospecting I am back, had to rush back , a couple of more family dramas going on. But I am back, a few days to sort some shit out and then I am going to head up my patch. catch ya soonish. Cheers Andy PPA
@@frenchys_prospecting Yep is defiantly something wrong with your audio . I was wearing headphones and it was swapping around channels and changing volume . other than that was a good video
Curious about the area shown in the videos. Aside from a small section of Andersons Creek along gold memorial drive, all prospecting is banned in Yarra River and tributaries above its junction with the Plenty River. So either you are on that heavily worked section, or you're breaking the rules?
@@jimmurphy4703 There's a couple that flow into the plenty river that might be ok, but any that flow into Diamond creek/the Yarra are definitely off limits. Which is most of the Caledonian goldfield........
Anderson’s, Jumping and stony are all allowed in Warrandyte not just Anderson’s. There’s also plenty that don’t run into the Yarra and run into Watsons for example that are under bush land reserves which don’t say you can’t fossick. If you’ve actually been to areas around Panton hill you’ll find the rangers don’t care and the locals don’t care if you’re not making a mess.
Used to be a bucket line dredge buried in blackberries by the train line off Allendale road, Diamond Creek. Probably not there anymore but gives insight into river gold around Melbourne.
@frenchys_prospecting I had to check this out on google earth. There's a photo on street view that shows some sort of adventure bike track that looks homemade. I'd love to go there but get a feeling that it would turn out like grown-ups 2 where we'd be the old men and the young blokes would circle us on their pushies 😂
I know the are very well. There used to be an old timer back in the 70's who had a gold mine at the top of lorimer rd. Just near where the transmission lines are now. We used to go in his hut where he had sweaty gellicnite in boxs. The top of that hill was sandy. Further towards Diamond Creek, on the top of Reynolds rd there used to a place called the sand pits where we would ride mx bikes. The old KG tip was perhaps an old mine site. It was very sandy and a lot of quartz. Must have been a an old river delta eons ago which only the remnants remain on the hill tops. The creeks which flow into the Diamond creek from there would definately have gold.
