Another great conversation. I have two Teslas because I can’t buy a Chinese brand EV in Canada. At least my second Tesla was made in China. It is so much better than the California made one that I first bought.
Great take guys for insight into China's growth!! China must not rest on its laurel, but must find new innovations to keep its status quo as a progressive country, sustainable for the next century and beyond!!💪💪👊👊
Suggest Lee Barrett gather around the table several old time expats who had lived in China for the last 10 years or more. Share their experiences and observations on two big topics: "China Speed" and "Chinese Efficiency". They are eye-witnesses to how quickly China changed across the nation, e.g. adoption of electronic payment, growth of transportation networks, completion of major infrastructures, disappearance of beggars and homeless people, lifting people out of abject poverty, clean up the environmental damages, green energy and switching to EV, better living standard, etc. Let's have their first person testimony.
Barrett is so be right simply becase he gas seen a lot over the years. He is lucky to arrive in China before the huge explosion of growth and technology. Great video.
Yes, China has changed tremendously in the last few decades according to its chosen path. But certainly not in accordance with the Imperial West dictates. That made the Collective West Countries very mad at China for not conforming to the American rule-based international order
I'm Australian and I visited China for a little over 3 weeks back in 2003. Back then Guangzhou didn't have a metro, transport was via bus, taxi or car. We took a coach from Guangzhou to Guilin, it took 9 hours. Now Guangzhou, or more broadly China, has the best metro in the world, maglev trains can make the trip to Guilin in less that 3 hours. And that's just one city. I will say however that sometimes they need to be careful that in their efforts to modernize they don't lose the very thing that tourist enjoy about China, and that is it's history and culture. On our way to Guilin, we stopped at Yangzhou, a small city that had an old world village feel. Now it looks like Las Vegas, minus the gambling of course. I think that's a shame. A countries heritage is very important, China needs to be aware of that, and ensure a regions heritage and culture is considered when modernizing.
Tesla vehicles are still ahead of the Chinese brands in the most important ways!! You have to own one to understand it. Since Tesla doesn't advertise their options and feature. Tesla cars are the only vehicles with constant improvement after ownership. It's not about the glitzy looks. Its all about safety and convenience.
@pawoon I don't need to own any product to be sbke to analyze it. All I need to do is to study the development, production and service record of the product. I'm a professional with probably more years of experience in the field than you estimate.
I guess you've been & seen the negatives in China, (I saw some when I was there too), but maybe you missed all the advances they've made & how the standard of living has improved for nearly all Chinese, including life expectancy exceeding the USA. Which places did you see?
