I’ve gotten the anxiety vibe off John Goodman every time I’ve met him. He hates to be the center of attention, gets embarrassed easily, but that plays into his improv and comedy. Add in his friends are retiring, pushing him to do the same, and he’s suddenly facing mortality, which is why he’s currently juggling Conners, TRG, Freak Bros, and Monsters at Work, among other projects. He’s afraid to quit, less he falls back into bad habits again. That’s why he can flip between Charlie Meadows/Dan Conner and Karl Mundt/Walter Sobchak personalities so easily, it’s his inner nature vs his turmoil.
