Just the beginning.. I’ve owned a e46 330i 2005 for the past 12 years... items to come ... front control arms, oil pan gasket, oil filter housing, rear shocks, sway bar busing, coil packs, siva valve, CCV unit, sway bar links, window reg, etc etc. Awesome car love it.
@@Spartansrule118 Wouldnt say its unreliable.. it wont leave you stranded in the middle of nowhere. Most issues you can see coming, you will see small insignificant leaks of oil, some parts may develop a weird sound etc. well before they fail. Unless you overheat the engine and try to drive somewhere as its overheating the engine is going to be fine - everything around it like the water pump or thermostat will fail at some point. Cant really count in suspension parts into this conversation because (similarly to the head gasket) it will depend on how and where you drive. If you rev it cold dont expect the gasket to last too long, if you drive on crap roads like you stole it then also dont expect control arms or shocks to last too long :D Its basically the same with every older car and the highest cost is going to be the work done and not the parts (in comparison to more "regular" cars)
Im starting to have a weird clanking sound coming from the front of my 2001 330ci, i checked the motor mounts, swat bar bushings, tie rods, control arms and bushings.. still cant find this FUCKING CLANKING SOUND!!!!! fucking annoying my guy
spend no less than $4500 and look for around 70k-120k mileage / higher mileage e46's (130K-180k) will not be worth fixing once everything's begins to stop working
Not really, repainted most of it except the hood and the roof, some rust repair as well. Got new driver door, boot lid and front quarter panels, rear bumper, eagle eye leds for the rear, black roof liner, most of the interior converted from part leather to full leather (still need the front seats), bought Style32 rims from E90, pokes out a bit more than e46 standard, brembo perforated brake discs for front with pads, replaced my M3 steering wheel with a barely used one. Bought some semi-slicks just for shits and giggles too. So maybe I did replace most of it. For fixes - couple oil changes, abs sensor in the front went bad, changed all spark plugs, valve cover gasket, pcv system, one engine mount, one intake boot, couple air filters, cabin filters, one fuel filter, both front A arms, most of the bushings, few other bits and bobs in the suspension. Changed the front fog bulbs and daylight running lights, exhaust flange needed some work between headers and exhaust. Oh, when I did the rust repair they took out the front window, turns out some rust can be found in the bottom corners of it once you take it out, who knew. Probably forgot some bits. Still have to do the cowl, fix handbrake being uneven, change all the suspension to H&R touring cup kit, reenforce rear subframe and get a front strut bar, maybe some eibach uprated anti roll bars, still need to find those front leather seats, preferably out of an M3, the nice manual ones, perhaps buy some nice 18 inch wheels and some replica super sprint headers. Car came with some 1.5k spent on audio, got a sub in the trunk, all speakers have been changed, alpine amp. All of that is good, but the Pioneer head unit looks like something out of NFSU so I will be putting a nice android one in. I am sort of waiting for the clutch to go, once it's gone it's time for a 6 speed swap, but the bastard's holding up. I've got plans way in 2020 for this car and I'm sure it will not be perfect then. I'm considering buying the 330, it has everything i need in a car. I previously owned a golf mk1 and i binned 2,500 € in 6 months (no repaint or cosmetic work) xD So i think i should be fine with a 330? :D
@@damirmuslimovic8278 You'll be just fine. It's actually as reliable as BMW gets, it's just that most parts are now worn out. Once you go through all the wearables and brittle plastic pieces it'll treat you well. That's also why I got one that obviously needed some work done - even if I would get one in 'mint condition' I would end up changing most of the partsI changed, just would pay some 2k EUR premium up front.
