he said he put 800 down for 190 per month . look it up www.harley-davidson.com/content/h-d/en_US/home.html it will show you the payment method as well. just go to web site, scroll down to desired bike, click on it , then move cursor to '' estimate payment '' it will show you the bike , scroll down and you will see different things that you can '' finance '' , and then type in how much you want to put down. scroll up and it will show you how much a month. . . . depending on if you got riding gear from them as well. plus a few other add-ons if you want. just remember sales tax is not included with the total price, it will be a little different. probably a smidgen higher. but it is fun to see how it works tho. and ride the snot out of it ! xD
Definitely reccommend doing oil changes and brakes yourself! Save massive amounts of money. If you're mechanical at all, dive in and do it! Plenty of videos and write ups if you need help.
Yes, totally agree here. Have done all of my oil and filter and chain changes over the years. It keeps you in touch with the bike more-so than when the dealer does it. My current ride is belt driven, a huge bonus if you think about the time it takes to change out the chain and do link breaking etc to get it to the length you need.
Guys just buy a Sportster on Craigslist I got a 2005 Sportster custom 1200 cc for 2 grand. I don't owe any money I don't have to go to HarleyDavidson for them to change my oil and check how tight my bolts are for $300.
I pay $170/month for mine and the 1000 mile service was actually about $180 at the dealership I went to. However, I contacted a couple of other dealerships and they wanted to charge almost $300 for the same service
Excellent post. This is exactly why I'm saving to buy cash. $210 a month for 60 months is around a $11,400 loan amount. Which paid full term is $1227 interest.
I just bought mine today. Finance mine with 808 Credit score. DP of $1000, $170/month for 60 months, With free jacket, helmet, gloves and safety class test to get my license ($850 worth of freebies). This is just to give you some ideas how much you should pay for your Iron 883.
Mark Petalcorin Well if you did a little bit of research you would know that nothing has changed on the iron since its introduction. I just bought a 2014 Iron 883 with 1,400 miles for 4000$ what should I do with all them extra monies I saved from not buying a brand new one?
Great vid and that "Harley" Maintance almost had me thinking on getting another bike just because it so expensive and kind of a rip off. But thanks to you I think I may be buying one anyway and doing the maintenance myself or in a motorcycle shop for less.
Great video and good information. And I want to thank you for not riding your bike while talking. I noticed that vloggers tend to drift away from the subject if riding their bike.
You didn’t mention what you paid “out the door” (amount financed)... you only mentioned monthly payments. At 10% down @ $800 It appears you paid $8k out the door? Also, Sportster does not have hydraulic lifters... requires manual adjustment... not a fun process. The bigger motors have hydraulic lifters and are virtually maintenance free.
i had a 96 - 883 ... i probably bought it too young i was mid 30's..... it had too much chrome i got sick of trying to keep it shining..(here in wet uk) ... but i fancy another i like the sportster iron matt finish...chrome is sooo 80's....... not the fastest bike out there but very enjoyable ride.....
@@pendraqon2909 I ended up with a nice 2002 mostly stock xl883c in great condition for 3000.00 instead of the other one. I've only had it a week and ove burly slammer lowering shocks and front coils on it, changed the handlebars to I can reach them better, changed from forward controls to mids, a flush gas tank cap, and I'll be warping my tank n fenders and I'll be making some mods for my helmet soon.
So I’m between this and a fat boy for my first bike. First thing I would have to do is add a two seat on it. Not with a bar or anything but my girl will defiantly not let me ride single on weekend date nights cruising. Is that ok?
I pay about the same myself except that $30 of it is for some kind of extra warranty thing my wife said was a good idea? I think it only lasts a few years though? Put $1000 down myself. Exact same bike as yours just 2020 model.
Ha got me a 2021 any of y'all ever see a 20,000$ sportster I got one but I'm trying to build my credit and they didn't show me where the bank charged 6,000$, oh well always read the fine print
Must have been a previous years model? I can’t find one at a dealer near me for less than 9K (before haggling obviously), but that doesn’t even include the fees and taxes.
Andrew Coffey good point and I agree with you Andrew ...just got mine for $9600.00 out the door price no money down. My payments are 173$ a month that’s based on a 2.9% interest rate for 60 months.
Hey Noel, I'm 5-6, 31" inseam, and ride a Star Bolt ,( 942 CC ... aka 58 cubes, 27 inch seat height, 59.3 Ft-lbs torque at 3,000 rpm, 547 lb's wet...).... I was looking into the 883 SuperLow years ago, ( 25 inch seat height), and couldn't find one anywhere.... Anyway, A co-worker of mine rides an HD Ultra Limited, ( 103 cubes , stage 1) with a 27 inch seat height and he's 6 ft tall and about 205 lb's. I'm just going to toss this at you that the Iron 1200 might be a better bike for you than the 883. More power, same appeal, and having your Lady on the back.... Better highway performance, etc... Stay Safe.
@Unethical Idealist what kind of moron are you? I serve the country not live on welfare... highly doubt you know what it's like to leave your family for a year or more and get shot at so shut up and go get your food stamps
Thanks for sharing ! I got two Harley’s and in Europe they are way more expensive. My 883 costs 13,500 dollars in Portugal. A full tank of gas is 16,50 dollars. Why the difference ? Taxes !! Much higher in Europe. On the good side, essentially free health care in return for higher tax payout.
I know this post is two years old but, I don't think paying half my wages in taxes is getting "free" health care. I'd rather pay for my health care as I need it, rather than being billed for it whether I need it or not. I can then spend my savings on other things I want. Get out of the nanny state mindset, people. Quit being a government indoctrinated lemming.
Naaaa it's not free anymore bs. I'm from the Netherlands, costs grow every year and next to paying every month to the insurance company, next to nothing is included in the basic package, so dental costs, psychiatry, meds whatever, one has to pay for as well. On a lighter note, love the video & the comments. Thanks!
@@Marvelkid87 i just look at one a few day's ago and fell in love with. I'll be taking the MSF course soon and hopefully I'll get this bike in a year. Its going to be a goal of mine to get this bike
I can't believe the people who can't change their own fuckin oil? Are you kidding me? $300-$400 to change the oil? Really? Car oil changes don't cost half of that. Someone needs to go back to school I figure. It's bad enough you over pay for the bike when you buy it, but then you give them $400 more after only 1000 miles is highway robbery in my book. You can have that crap.
That is sweet man im having trouble finding an iron 883 i live in upstate New York and was wondering if anyone could please help me! The final price scares me but when you said what the payments and stuff were omg easy af! Please help
it is not that bad actually . they make about 4g for their work and selling it. possibly a good becon score could help with the financing. [ either them financing, or your bank ] so afterwards the total would be around 13g that is not including maintenance [ tires, oil change, possibly drive belt ( if it snaps [ not likely , but is good to put that in there] ) , bulbs , later on possibly adding on some modifications [ with H-D stuff ] . \ then it will get higher for certain . lol *bechem* >.> . . . . . . . .
Bro this video was so informational and so helpful, granted I know payments and everything depends on the person but thank you for the guesstament, you earned my subscribe. 🤟🏽🤟🏽
Hey man, appreciate the video. Couple questions if I may: 1. Was this bought new or used? 2. Reckon you can take this bike on some 120 mile weekend rides out of the city? I’ve seen videos showing it to be super rumbly on the highway! 🤘🏻
Actually where I love the motorcycle shops charge more than the Harley dealer ... but yes doing it you self is way cheaper however I leave the more complex stuff to the professionals
