Another superb video. Great info. Great graphics with fantastic editing and humour. 10/10 For a second, I actually thought that Sting designed a coin! 😂 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Cracking video. Oh paul I was holding on to ‘EVERY BREATH YOU TAKE’ after the sting pun. With all those £2’s laid across the table it did look like ‘FIELDS OF GOLD’ sorry 😞 😞 🤣🤣 Great stuff Coin Patrol 👍🏻
What metals are found in a two pound coin? The coin consists of an outer yellow metal nickel-brass ring made from 76% copper, 20% zinc, and 4% nickel, and an inner steel-coloured cupro-nickel disc made from 75% copper, 25% nickel. The coin weighs 12 grams (0.42 oz) and is 2.84 centimetres (1.12 in) in diameter.
I’ve just come across you in my feed & was absolutely fascinated with your video. Although I have used coins all my life, I didn’t realise just how many different ones there were. I’ve never really looked at them closely before. You’ve certainly got me hooked now. My favourites of the ones you showed was the slave trade & the Mary Rose. I will be looking out at the reverse of all the coins I get from now on. Thank you for sharing this.
Fantastic effort Paul. Change checker mentioned in a video that the London Underground roundel and train have been found to have their edges mixed up too 😂 🤷♂️
I've actually somehow got the N. Ireland commonwealth games coin. Got it in change a few years back but didn't realise how rare it was at first. The star on the flag is hard to make out without a magnifying glass but it's definitely there.
I'm glad this video popped up today. I recently found the 2017 World War One Aviation coin. It was a shock to find it. It looks amazing and the edge inscription is The Sky Rained Heroes 😁
I was waiting for this video to be made, I have a small bunch of 2 pound coins and I want to see if they are worth selling. Thanks for another great video Paul!
The gunpowder plot coin has an inscription error, some call it a coincidental occurrence due to wear and tear. The error has the first word REMEMBER showing as PEMEMBER instead.
Very good video and very informative well done, I have all of these every one twice , one set with the edge inscription the right way up one set with the inscription up side down, I also have an anti slavery with the wrong edge inscription unfortunately not found the opposite one yet, and before you say anything NO I won’t be holding my breath, keep up the good work.
I think the WW1 Royal Navy coin is based on 1of the 5 Revenge Class (Dreadnought) Battleships. Certainly not HMS Belfast as some people advertise on ebay, since she wasn't constructed until well after WW1.
I have a strange £2 coin, which looks like it's a dull, kind of, brass metal. It's got a Scottish Saltire & Thistle on the back. Have you any knowledge of this one?
I have a 1998 Isle of man two pound coin with racing cars on,the edge of the coin is plain with no inscription, the front has Isle of man,the three legged symbol and Elizabeth 2nd,has it any extra value,I've never seen another before?
Just wanted to say thank you for this vid, I had commonwealth flag coin but I though it was the England one but taking a closer look at my one the top line of the flag has a bump that I think is the crown. The line across is thick too so I am very sure I got the northern ireland one.
Hi Neil. No, the edge inscriptions are rolled on to the blanks first. Then they are put back into the hopper before the coin is minted. So it's 50/50 which way up the edge inscription will be.
Hi Alan. The edge inscription is minted onto the blank first. Then they go back into the hoper ready to be minted. So it's 50/50 which way it will fall into the press. Hence the inscription could be either way.
Hi, I've been collecting 50ps and £2 coins for a few years, with the 5th of November with the edge error. I have these, it states pemember pemember the 5th of November, how much would that be worth
0:27 Hi, I love the style and info of your videos. I have a Scottish thistle £2. It is single metal, not attracted to magnets, weighs 15g + on my kitchen scales and it’s slightly thicker than my other £2 coins Have I hit the jackpot?! Many thanks
A very enjoyable video Paul. Keep them coming. You know, I know it classed as a definitive but my favourite £2 is the Britannia, such a beautiful design.. Next 1d hunt? cheers Keith
I have a 1999 Ruby world cup coin but wwith an edge inscription missing the 1 in 1999 i.e. it just reads 999. Any thought's. By the way thanks for the video's
For the 1807 Abolition of the Slave Trade how much would it be worth it there is an error? As the writing on the edge for mine is upside down i’m pretty sure.
The writing on the edge of the £2 coins is put on the blanks first. Then they go back into the hopper before the coin is struck. So it's just 50/50 which way up the writing on the edge will be.
Hi...I've got duplicates of some of the rarest 50p's including they offside rule. How could I go about selling these to reputable persons. I also have 1 ONLY of them Kew gardens 50 pence. I really want to sell these coins but I'm frightened of being ripped off. Cheers for now. Best regards JIM ROWBOTHAM
You have made me excited about my coins for the first time. I was quite overwhelmed by the amount and didn't know where to start but your straight forward explanations of what to look for is amazing. Thank you
Hi Stephen. The Edge writing is put on the £2 blanks first. Then they go back in the hopper before they are minted. So it's 50/50 which way up the writing will be.
