An old video I filmed before I sold the E30, figured I should upload it for those in the future that want to know before starting. It can be pretty cheap or pretty expensive depending on which route you choose!
Good shit bro. If u want to get cheaper on the swap buy the whole e34 as a non runner for $1000 or less and part out whats not needed to return the investment and get buy with $2500-3000 is my best advice. Great video tho!
@@m3nameisjosh464Hey loved the video. New to e30s. Looking back would you say it was worth doing this swap vs going forced induction on the m20? I’m trying to figure what would make more sense in todays prices. Throwing a small quick spooling turbo on a m20 should be doable for 4-6k?
@@aaronbregoli863 The semi rear trailing arm rear suspension has trouble putting power down. It was built to be a momentum car; that's where it's happy.
Sweet video Josh. I was under the impression that the e34 525i had the same zf transmission as the e36m3 and later 328i. Is this not the case? Is it just incompatible for this swap? Would love to hear from you or anyone with knowledge on the subject. Much thanks
91-92 525 has the same zf. It is compatible but means a different driveshaft. I wanted to eliminate changing any more components than I had to so i stayed with the getrag
How did you do to fit the mechanical fan? Ive used a diesel one for my e30 m50 non vanos swap and it broke my radiator, now im using a 16inch spal electric fan
underrated BMW channel! Commenting for the algorithm ! Thanks Josh for the great content. Just found out my M20 is toast, guess which route I am going!
