Fyi, since you have been approved for 500subs+3000hrs, once you hit 1000+4000 and after you applied for full monetization, the approval will be immediate. Basically the 500+3000 tier act as an early approval process.

As long as you applied and were accepted when you were at 500 subs and 3k watch hours, it will be an automatic process for the next threshold. One you are eligible though, you will need to turn on the ads on your previous videos, which you can find in the Earn section of RU-vid studio. I promise, it’s very easy! Honestly as a small channel myself, you should be focused on giving your subscribers the best content that you can make. After all, that’s the best gift that you can give them. Focus on making the best content and reinvesting any money you make into your channel for the time being, and I’m sure you’ll succeed! i currently have 355 subscribers, but 25k in watch hours in the past 6 months, how much do you think the amount of watch hours would impact my revenue once i hit 500 subscribers? also great video!
I checked out your channel a bit and wow! You have some very long videos, so I can see why you would have such a long watch time, but it's too bad that your watch time doesn't equate to more subscribers. When you hit 500 subs, it will unlock what I call the "crowd-funded tier" which just allows people to donate to your channel. Considering your subscriber count is not very high, I doubt much will change once you hit 500 subs because people don't often donate anything on RU-vid. I have a very small channel myself, but only have had 2 donations so far after enabling this option. Now that I have hit 1000 subs, basically all the money I am earning is from ads so I would keep that same mindset that once you hit 1000 subs, with that crazy amount of watch time you're getting, I would also think you can get some nice revenue from that. Hope that helps a bit! I can assure you I am no expert when it comes to these things. I'm also learning as I go! I would assume if it does not let you apply that you do not have the 3000 watch house required in the last 365 days, in addition to the subscribers that you need. Yep! There are a few ways, however you are not able to make money from ads. Once you hit 500 subs it allows people to donate to your channel and to become a member of your channel. I explained that in this video as well for a more in-depth look.
Absolutely! That is the plan to talk more about that in the future. I just do part time though, so I’m certainly no expert but I would be able to talk about my experiences. Currently, I have a transaction in the works that has been quite the experience…to say the least. Would definitely make for a good video so I planned to talk about that after everything is closed. Its so hard for me to get watch hours because my videos are stop motion, making a video a minute long is an insanely difficult task. I hope i can reach a thousand sometime, it would give me more money to invest in my collections.
I can definitely appreciate the time and dedication that goes into the videos that you make. I could imagine it’s extremely difficult to make any sort of length of video. Perhaps your types of videos could do better as a short? Shorts are also another way that people can get monetized instead of watch time hours, with shorts, you only need views but a lot of views. I personally would not consider that and I also know that those views/watch time hours do not count toward your monetization goal, so I would honestly avoid if I were you. So, once I apply and get accepted for the first tier (500 subs and 3000 watch hours), do I have to then apply another time or does it automatically happen as I reach 1k subscribers and 4000 watch hours? No problem, thanks for asking! The answer, thankfully, is that you do not need to reapply! Once you hit the thresholds for monetization, you simply have to turn on the option for ads to appear on your RU-vid channel, and you’ll start making some money! It’s really a simple process, one that I thought wouldn’t be quite as simple. So if you’ve already applied and accepted, you’ll be good to go! Hope that helps! 265 subs is definitely not nothing! It wasn’t that long ago that I had subs similar to you and you have to make sure you appreciate each and every one of them! The ones that are around in the beginning are the real heroes of your channel! Watch hours are more difficult, as you need to make engaging content to keep your viewers hooked to your channel. For me, I tried to put a lot of time into editing and it seemed to work. Anyway, hope that helps and thanks for watching! When you hit 3000 watch hours, that allows people to donate to your channel. This does not yet allow you to turn on ads for your videos and make ad revenue. When you hit 4000 watch hours in the last 365 days, and 1000 subscribers, that is when you become fully monetized and can start earning money from ad revenue. Hope that makes sense!

Adsense is a feature that google offers to allow you to put ads on your videos. Think of it like a google bank account. Once you start earning money from RU-vid, it will go into your Adsense account and then you can get paid. Once it’s in Adsense, it will then be transferred into your bank account
I understand that the partnership program is a process. This is my second channel and it’s just as hard to get subscribers as the first, but I have learned so much about how the algorithm works. Thanks for sharing.

keep up the good work. i started my channel around the same time you did we now have 15,000 subscribers but im stuck at 225 watch hours we do DnD campaigns. i have been paying for ads tho as well you gotta love that you pay youtube to run ads you create and in return they give you no watch hours from it because my total watch hours is over 1,000 but youtube wont count them because they are from ads.

When people watch your videos, you accumulate watch hours. So for example if I watched your videos for 30 minutes, you would have accumulated 0.5 watch hours from me. You need 4000 total watch hours (and 1000 subscribers) to become fully monetized. This means that you need to create content that not only gets views, but also gets people to watch for longer. I'm about to acheive it this week ... but from my experience as a channel ower that the growing of subscribers will come from the shorts .. I gained 70 % of my subscribes from shorts and that shocked me at the beginning but then i stopped posting shorts because Iam targeting long videos audience .. i hope you will hit 10000000 soon.
That’s crazy to gain so many subscribers for just shorts!! I honestly don’t gain too many from those, but I primarily focus on long form content and do short little teasers for my long form videos. It depends how the viewer finds the video. If they go to it from clicking on your channel, that would count as watch time hours toward monetization. If they come across the video in the shorts feed, which is most likely how shorts are discovered, then that does not count toward watch time. For monetizing though, if you’re looking at watch time you should really just be making long form content. Thanks for watching the video! Hope to see you in another one!

my little channel is slowly but surely creeping towards that same 500 subs/3000 watch hours, its just me building scale models and showing how I do it, I was originally expecting maybe a 100 subs if I was lucky, but it looks like I'm doing something right, and I'm looking towards the prospect of monetisation, just for showing people how I do a hobby I really enjoy!

Please take my advice .. I started my channel March this year... I stoped for one month and some days I post not on the same time and take more than usual .. I come back to track to acheive my goal ... post at least on post weekly .. choose a specific area to talk about and try to engage on the community and get the best of the tools they gave us , try to use the keywords and hastags and do everthing .. Unfortunately I find it to be the other way around on my channel, I am almost at the 500 sub mark however I am nowhere near even a thousand watch time hours, let alone 3 thousand! Do you have any tips?
I’ll be honest I didn’t watch any of your content, but it’s clear that the most efficient way you’ll get to that watch hour requirement is by making your videos longer. Your popular videos are barely a couple minutes long, and maybe that’s just characteristic of the niche, but you can double or triple your watch time by just making your videos a few minutes longer. Something to consider, good luck.

@@lamoskits retention is a tricky thing because the algorithm considers both average actual retention time as well as average percentage viewed. So don’t be too hesitant about branching out past the couple minutes mark. To speak from a personal example here, I make episodes about 30 minutes long. They typically have like 15-20 average minutes watched. Impression click through rates around 10% or so. That being said, my most successful video by far, is the compilation that’s like 5 hours long. The the average watch time for it is around 45 minutes. Average percentage viewed is awful compared to my other videos, but because RU-vid sees people watch it for a long time, it gets way more impressions than my other videos, despite its click through rate being only like 3 or 4%. Hope that made sense.

I generally make personal finance videos related to things I like, and I’m just along for the ride😉 That being said, my videos are about 10-15 minutes long usually and after a good period of time consistently doing that, I was able to reach the watch time threshold. I just try to make the best videos possible that I can, and the results have followed. I still have plenty more to learn though, and am just beginning my RU-vid journey!
