In the 1970s when I was in the States there were none of these koi bettas or blue berries. There were red, blue and pink in solid colors or with nuances in blends. There appeared the cellophane betta. But I only saw it in a magazine. I liked those better than the ones today with all the blotches. I imagine that the older strains were hardier. Much success and satisfaction to you!

Im glad your doing well and enjoying it. Im sure you spend alot of time around your fish, when the Dark knight rams arrived they were not at all scared of me and settled in pretty much straight away. Usually when i get new fish they are more cautious at first. So they seem to be very used to having people around them.

I’m gonna try to breed wild bettas from other country, and see how that goes. Your videos are very informative, I used to love having bettas in my childhood.

Addicted to these videos! Great insight given that I had bettas and had no successful breeds. Difficult also to access Indian Almond leaves in South Africa. I was told that guava leaves work as well. Keep the videos coming though and thank you!

I love your channel and you are just so amazing with what you do! I breed bettas as a part time job and I always for gold half moons and creating my own “bloodline”, am you can be successful with it, you just have to work hard and make that you will have all the supplies to raise these fish.

Another great video, I'd love to know how you set up your connection to your wholesalers and stores, how did you start out and what tips would you have for people wanting to get into serious breeding.

The points you touched in the end I thought of being the biggest expense in my mind you didn't even account for. All the shipping supplies, petrol to and from wholesalers, and even more time. I've thought about breeding Bettas myself just as a project and not for profit at all and always stop short because that's a lot of fry and jars I'd have to take care of till I did sell everything

Love this! When you say a couple of hundred for 4ft tanks, is that total or each? Wholesale or retail? Can’t seem to find them that cheap so I’d really appreciate the help. And what price range did you sell them to fish stores or wholesalers for? You didn’t say how many bettas you had. A guesstimate: $10 for lower grade (retail $30) to $20 for higher grade (retail $60)?

That was a really cool breakdown! I’m actually having my first shot breeding bettas today. Not expecting many fry if I do succeed because the female got so full with eggs earlier in the week that she ended up dropping a couple hundred. But that’s alright, makes it easier for me to handle first time through. Found your initial betta breeding video to be very helpful, and I used that to build on for creating my setup. Just randomly found a girl who breeds bettas on tiktok and then ended up watching videos on RU-vid about it. Found you! Watched your video of breeding them in the tubs, and now I think I definitely want to attempt this myself! So this video is much appreciated ❤️ I obviously am not a fish-breeder and I do not have the set up that you have (yet) so I wanted to clarify… you believe that bettas can be bred without that massive set up? Like truly just having the essentials you named (some 4ft aquariums, tubs, shelving, food like brine shrimp, etc) would be good enough? I’m definitely prepared to do a ton of research before I would even attempt this but I’m sooo intrigued by it! I’ve always loved bettas (truly love most aquarium fish though and used to have a large tank with guppies when I was young! Those are fascinating to watch bc they birth LIVE fish! No eggs 🤗)

And factor in getting the parents ready for breeding. That can add up to a lot of food after a while depending on how many pairs you are conditioning. Have you ever tried setting up a harem style breeder for betta with one male and multiple female betta?

If your still reading comments I have a question on how you started, when you have the fish getting ready to breed did you keep them in just small 1 gal tanks or had 20 gals for each one. Then when your done when did you tell the grades and the species? Also when they were able to be cupped?

Having and breeding Betta fish is actually fun. I have like 20 pairs of Betta and I breed them for about once a month. I've got a lot of money from them while I'm doing my hobby so I guess it's really a win win situaition
