We skipped the engagement ring, went right to wedding bands... spent the savings on our house down payment. The "expectations" they speak of are probably a sign that your significant other is too materialistic and/or swayed by social norms over a practical, financially stable life together
Diamonds are just a scam in my opinion. My boyfriend and I have already talked about rings and I specifically told him not to get me a diamond since I don't like them. I told him about how I prefer moissanites over diamonds and at first he was reluctant because he's always heard that engagement rings should have a diamond. I told him he could propose with a ring pop for all I care and I'd say yes lol.
@@adidiran7120 Diamond is only an investment if you trade in them or if you buy a set of diamond cutting tools and start a business. A diamond ring loses half of it's value when you walk out the jeweler :D
there is not an correct formula or solutions to someones love, i guess just buy what you/ her like depending on financial abilities, its like if u wear a $10 watch, maybe get a $10 ring, if u wear a $10,000 rolex, then try spend the amount on her as much as the amount you would spend on yourself
Zero. How dumb can people be wasting that kind of money on a stupid ring. Especially when its a well known scam. If you're starting a family there are a thousand practical things you could do with it. The insanity boggles the mind.
I'd say spend very little on a ring, if anything at all...regardless of how much money you have. Any woman who expects, or even allows you to spend a ton of your hard earned money on a stupid ring is not someone you want to marry. I have a friend who asked his longtime girlfriend to marry him, and instead of being elated as you would expect a girl to be in that situation, her first reaction was one of disgust because she did not like the ring. The fact that the man she supposedly loved asked her to spend the rest of her life with him meant nothing to her...all she cared about was that stupid rock and what her friends would think. I'd have dropped her ass right then.
He should know what is her style and preference on engagement ring. This ring is suppose to represent forever love between two people and he is suppose to show her his love with the ring. If she hates the ring then it shows that he didn't pay attention to what she likes and who she is.
There's no need for diamonds no man should feel pressured to spend thousands of dollars on a ring of the girl really loves she will not have a problem not get a diamond but if you can afford it why but price does not define love
Would have been nice in this day and age that you use a little more inclusive language. Homosexuals can get married too and we still fall into these stereotypes.
