Yeah, I can afford it and I live alone in a 2 bedroom Duplex, but I'm moving because the cost of living is ridiculous and so are my Savings right now. I moved here bc it's a wonderful neighborhood as a Single Woman who lives alone. I work more than I go to Church, see my Family or Friends, or have time for myself. We are the Generation of the Working poor & we have to add in Student loans that restart in October. Getting rid of a bunch of stuff and moving into a 1 bedroom ASAP so I can rebuild my Savings!

Housing went up during C19 in the Richmond VA area for 2 bdrn $1400 to $2200 $23 hour that's 3xs due to continuous gentrification. Also you must have good rental history and credit score

Y’all need to do this on cities only. Because most people not moving to the part of states where rent is that price because here in Philly the rent is high asf and you definitely need more then what y’all said to afford to live here unless you want to duck gun shots and get carjacked

I think those numbers are off. When it got to Atlanta, having lived there in the late 80's thru early 90's, they were charging $1.25 per square feet. And apartments were always more expensive than renting homes back then. So a 825 sq. ft. apartment would cost $1,031 in 1988 as I recall.

Hearing these numbers and knowing what the minimum wage is honestly quite sad. They want to leave people in poverty. The US has the money to do the right thing but because they support the rich and not the poor and the middle class we are all screwed.... Crazy

Alabama has never set a minimum wage, so the minimum wage that is used is the Federal Minimum Wage of $7.25. Unfortunately, the Federal Minimum Wage hasn't increased in a long time. However, most places in Alabama pay more than the Federal Minimum Wage.
