Everyone’s been complaining about how the markets have been hard to trade. High volatility, choppy price action, massive swings up and down, but when you have a system that works in any markets, INVESTING is not so hard, you are in and out, GRAB your PAYCHECK and DONE!!

The stock market has been a really tough one this past months, but I watched an interview on CNBC where the anchor ‘Jim Cramer’ kept mentioning "...KARINA MATTIS...". This prompted me to get in touch with her, and from October 2021 till now we have been working together, and I can now boast of $540k in my trading portfolio.

I am a beginner and I am hoping to start with $93,000. I hope this is not too small to start with because my dream is to attain my financial goals within a short period of time.

Sure you can start with that amount and even less. With a proper financial guidance, you can build a small amount to a larger sum.

Seeing the name Karina Mattis made me stop to read your comment. I can attest to the fact that getting in touch with Ms. Karina during the pandemic was how I was able to scale through the crazy stock downtrend and this helped saved my finance

Hiya. I know this is just a video explaining how time and compounding growth is key to building wealth over the long term. But im abit confused. If someone aged 60 today decided to start investing to have a million at age 65, after inflation they would still be close to that million in terms of spending power. But someone aged 20 shooting for a million at age 65 after factoring in 45 years worth of inflation the 20 year olds million at 65 would buy alot less than the 60 years olds million did when he turned 65. So how can someone aged 20 today really workout how much they need to invest a month to have the spending power of a million in today’s money in 45 years time? Im worried that a million in 45 years wont even buy you a used car and il regret not investing more! 😅

I've watched a few of Joshua's videos and enjoyed them, even though they were pretty basic. However, this video came across as something he knew little or nothing about. Not even a single mention of a retirement calculator or explanation why he thought he could invest in the stock market and think the growth would mirror that of an interest bearing account / instrument that compounded over time. He invested in VIT no less, so it's not like he was picking a fund that paid particularly high dividends.
@JoshuaMayo

Hey Daniel, the primary purpose of this video was to show how much someone would need to invest every month depending on their age to retire a millionaire. It’s not meant to be a deep dive into anything else other than that. I used a standard 7% return as my example. I chose VTI because it’s one of the most popular ETFs in the world and is a one-size-fits-all investment for most investors. The retirement calculator I used was from Nerdwallet, if you type in nerdwallet compound interest calculator into Google it should pop up. Hope that clears up any confusion.

Not realistic at all, because you will not start with a big paying job at 20. Most people finish their studies at 30, before that they eat Ramen Noodles and can barely pay rent or go to the movies, let alone invest. Then you need a few years to get going, maybe you start a business, pay off your student loan, pay off your car payment etc. It takes a long time before you have spare money that you don't need and can invest freely.

Im assumimg this vid isn't geared for a Roth ira, bc you can only contribute 6k/year lol, also if its in a non tax advantaged account, your capital gains will get taxed, so that 1mil isn't actually 1mil, it's probably 800k or around there

I have a question. For example, what if the 20 year old just put the $145900 into the investments today and dont touch it till retirement. Will he still get a million dollars by retirement without investing more money monthly?

Should I invest only on the etf or could I buy stocks as well. Would that also increase the rate at which I’ll be able to get to a million or would it stay the same ?
@JoshuaMayo
@JoshuaMayo 2 года назад
That’s a great question. Yes, you can invest in other things beyond ETFs. If you wanted to hold both ETFs and individual stocks in your portfolio, that’s totally fine. The one reason I always recommend ETFs is because they take most of the guesswork out of investing. By investing in a diversified ETF, you’ll give your portfolio more exposure to the stock market or various sectors in the stock market, compared to investing in individual stocks. With that being said, buying individual stocks does have its advantages. Imagine if you bought stocks like Tesla and Amazon before they started growing, you would have benefited more in the short-term from owning those stocks compared to owning an ETF that invests in the broad market. And so to answer your question - yes, technically owning individual stocks can increase the rate at which you’ll be able to get to a million. However, it’s not easy. It will require that you do a lot of research into individual stocks and trying to find the unicorns before everybody else. It’s definitely possible, but will take patience and work.

Great days are ahead young man! You are lucky to have found Joshua at age 18. Remember that your investment journey will always associate with greed and this is why most people can't have consistent return or suddenly burn their finger. Remember to always self- reflect when you are trying anything out from your investment strategy, this is the best way to stay away from what tragedies greed might brings you. Good luck!😊

I use to have maybe 15-20% of my portfolio in real estate using Fundrise, but recently I’ve been putting it into a high yield savings account instead because I’m going to start buying physical real estate. Fundrise is still very legitimate and I would definitely recommend it for anybody not interested in buying physical real estate. I’ll make a dedicated video on it soon!

I don t understand why people want to retire somehow, i see myself at 60 doing multiple businesses and be super active and healthy. I can t see mysef retiring and just doing nothing only spending my money. But if you say retiring while earning passive income, then that s better.
@JoshuaMayo
@JoshuaMayo 2 года назад
I don't disagree. And I personally want the same. Still earning and even still managing or working on something. I might go crazy if I couldn't keep my mind busy with some kind of work haha, but many people do like the idea of a simple retirement lifestyle.
