Awesome video. I am small RU-vidr, and I think that for small channels the most important thing is to get good presence from the beginning. If you are not popular, people won't care even if you have the best videos and the best content on platform. I am not beginner anymore, but I know how hard it can be (and honestly if I didn't use a lot of Fame- ster, I would have quit a long time ago. It made everything much easier for me, especially getting to 1000 subs and view hours).

This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my RU-vid channel 7 months ago about self development. Now I have 713 subs and > 200 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I could haven’t learned without getting started in the 1st place.

@@AffirmItDaily Whoever you are, I don't know you personally but I can say based on your posts and profile, you're one of the non-judgmental and open-minded people who is not fixated on tangible or external factors in order to learn from someone like me. Just because someone doesn't have a piece of paper as a credential, doesn't mean that person is not entitled to share personal experiences with the hope & intention to inspire others. Keep up with whatever it is that you're doing to improve mankind or improving your life even to a slight degree each day. This is just one part of a bigger puzzle for creating my RU-vid channel about holistic health. I literally could have died back when I was 14 years old due to major depression but here I am right now replying to you, a RU-vidr, who's full of fulfillment and dedication to help others to be a better version of themselves. I just uploaded my longest video, which is about an hr long and it doubled my subs and watch time hours and most of all, I've been impacting more lives positively and this is the best part of it all. I created is to share my opinion about these main things that truly impacted the way I live and how I became a minimalist. It's the one most vulnerable videos that I had been hesitant to post for many months because of the fear of being misunderstood but I finally decided to overcome that fear so others can learn from my experience so we can all grow together. The best advice I can give you is to focus more on providing as much value as you can as a creator while trying your best to enjoy the process of creation. Strategize based on your experience and adapt as needed. Everything else will fall into place

My channel just got monetized today and I can’t even begin to tell you how excited and encouraged I feel knowing that my hard work is showing some fruit! It is extremely difficult to stay the course some days, especially when you have a video flop or you get crappy feedback from a viewer. I completely stand behind your words to “not give up”! If you truly in your heart of hearts feel this is your calling or passion, keep going, and keep speaking truth into your own head that you will get there. Instead of saying I hope this, or I wish that, say instead, WHEN I get to, and WHEN I get there. Thank you for sharing this video! Kind of funny it popped up on my feed the day I get monetized. 😉

On a recent channel, it took 6 months to get monetized, and that was at the end of February, and Feb ended up getting like $150. But that quickly jumped to $8600 in March. Th9is month is over $16,000, so IT CAN HAPPEN!

@Catzz Money Mike if I go to my analytics and check watch hrs for the last 365 days it shows 22 hrs but when I check on monetization it only shows 13hrs. Maybe it's still updating on my end.

I would love to hear how things are going for you now! Thank you for providing us with transparency with some metrics of what we might expect. Today I was feeling a bit low about my content. Even though I know consistency is what will bring your channel to where you want it to be, and that we shouldn't pay too much attention to the analytics, it can definitely be a downer when you put so much time and effort into your videos only to sometimes get less than 100 views. Just gotta keep going! I love to see that you've grown from 1k to 31k since this was posted a year ago! Good for you on remaining consistent and getting your channel to grow so much!

I almost everyday scroll through RU-vid to find an educational video on starting your own channel - and this one just hit home. We really appreciate sharing your specific experience. We’ve been active for 14 months and are still further away than we’d like to be from our subscriber goal. But yay - we’ve already reached our watch hour goal. We didn’t start posting consistently (same day/same time until 6 months ago. And we do 1 video a week and just started adding 2-4 shorts/week. I keep thinking we’re missing some kind of magic button that will get us moving more rapidly. Thanks for sending the “keep going” message. Now, it’s back to editing!

You’ve done really well, I got monetised in 2023 after 18 months of weekly videos. It’s exciting to know so many tune in, as for the earning side it hasn’t been rainbows and unicorns, it didn’t have any expectations and I think it’s a lot to do with the niche I’m in and maybe even my personality. Thank you SO MUCH for providing a detailed breakdown and real numbers, as well as for touching on how payments actually Work!! So many other videos talk about "it takes a while" or "you get paid from ads" and other really vague statements. First: Thank you for sharing your 'monetizing' experience with RU-vid. I did not perceive your video as pretentious or self-serving at all, but rather very honest and enlightening. I learned quite a bit in a very short time - all of it presented in a very 'real' way. I now understand how important it is to understand RU-vid's monetizing process and mandatory criteria before jumping into this space. Yes! as you rightly said, don't loose hope ..just hang in there, keep checking on the analytics and see what is working and what is not working and success is on your way!

*megrowers, their RU-vid packages are like magic (I don't know how they do it, but they somehow manage to trick the algorithms, and the promoted videos really take off). If anyone is struggling with channel growth, I recommend giving it a try, as my investment for each channel paid off quickly. Cheers!*
