Shannon Sharpe isn't JUST a RU-vid content creator. He's a Hall-of-Fame NFL Legend turned TV personality turned RU-vid content creator. There's a difference. His name is not a name. His name is a brand. He came onto RU-vid and brought not an audience, but a following, with him. When you talk about "rethinking career choices," please include the whole career and don't have these kids out here thinking that all Shannon Sharpe did was start making RU-vid content. If they want to do what he does, they need to be prepared to do what he did.

Keep your teaching job it's a sturdy income with retirement benefits. Do teaching podcasts on the side. Parents are always looking for help with mathematical and language art . You know school has a new way of teaching math to the students now and parents need help. Schools need teachers with teaching degrees. Most elementary schools have people in classroom teaching who do not have a degree in teaching. They are given teachers assistant 3 years to add on their degree to become a k-6 certification. Best of luck! We need good teachers!

Katt used that interview as free promo for his 100-city tour that started on Jan 12th Katt is very smart and he knows that the business of messy sells so he gave that audience exactly what they wanted. Now how many more tickets do you think Katt will sell when his show rolls into your city? That was a masterclass in promotion without spending a dime. Shannone threw up the alley opp lob questions and Katt jumped out the gym with each one. This was calculated by both men but only Katt knew this drag session would blow up

I have YT Premium and don’t watch those ads unless the content creator literally advertises a sponsorship. Even then, I fast forward through, like and comment to engage on the value received. I’m glad everyone is eating on Shannon’s conversation with Katt! 🍾🥂💰

Katt Williams is a self made comedian who is brilliant. He has prove that a person really don't need Hollywood to be a successful entertainer. That interview on Club Shay Shay was smart move, especially the free promotion he got for his 100 city comedy tour. Also, the interview helped Shannon Sharpe RU-vid Podcast as well. What I like most about the interview is that Katt Williams got his revenge on Steve Harvey. According to DC Curry's story; Steve Harvey did Katt Williams two kids dirty in refusing to give them an autograph. In my humble opinion, a celebrity should should never throw shade on the fans: it's the fans that made them famous. If their fans stop supporting them; they will become has been and the entertainment industry will refuse to give them work.

That's not how RU-vid works, unfortunately. Even 48 million views on Shannon Sharpe's channel won't get him a $1 million dollars. Without diving too deep into it, it also just depends on the type of videos you make. For example, gaming videos pay way less than financial videos.

I think Katt got what most do. A lump sum to do the interview. Half before and the other half when he is there. In most cases no one gets a percentage of the views. A lot of times the Podcaster is taking a financial risk because they pay the appearance fee and don't get the views. It's basically the same as promoting am appearance fee at a club.. Also besides the fee Katt got for the interview he is getting publicity for his tour. When you watch late night shows like Jimmy Kimmel or Jimmy Fallon the guest aren't paid. They are on the show to promote something and a lot of timesxin actors contracts its required for them to do this. They show pays for travel and accommodations but not an appearance fee.

Mind you, this video was just released. Think about the revenue it will generate over time. Plus the video is 3 hours long versus a 5 minute vlog. Thats 100 million eyeballs for 3 hours. I had to break out the dictionary 3 times in that podcast. Katt is beyond genius.

@HumanEncoded cool but I don't like the formula used. It assumes that each view is equal which you can't possibly think about a 3 hour video as the watch times will fluctuate between each viewer. I realize that you can normalize the rate within the RPM metric but seems to still be at best directionally accurate. I do remember this formula used to be a lot more accurate before YT changed the way the paid out. Thoughts?

But he only keeps 55% on the $10 RPM which is $432,850, not $787,000 on the YT ad share revenue. At that level, he's also paying 37% in taxes, which I know he has deduction through the LLC, but you still have to include his withholding which is $160,154 to Uncle Sam. So with today's number like you said, he really takes home $272,695. Still not bad and still growing, but nowhere near the $787K you mentioned.
