I feel really lucky that the piercing I had done at Claire’s when I was 3 never got infected but I really recommend going to a tattoo/piercing parlour because it much cleaner
The reason many kids don't get their ears pierced at Claire's is because the people there are not trained professionals. It's also because they don't sanitize the earrings. Which is why his ear is infected. So moral of the story, NEVER get your ears pierced at Claire's. Hope this helps!
ADVICE: Only ever get your ears pierced at a tattoo parlor(they are actually very clean). NEVER get them pierced with a piercing gun(what Claire’s uses), they damage your ears and it is impossible for them to ever be fully cleaned.
True! When I was a kid, I always pierced my ears with a piercing gun. But it always got infected. So I got to a tattoo shop and tada! I have them for now 3 years.
i know this is a joke but i used to want my ears pierced so badly and when i finally decided to get them done, my parents took me to claire’s. i went back 3 separate times and my ear got infected each time even tho i was following all the directions the claire’s employees gave me (cleaning it 2 times a day for 4 weeks). i finally got a piercing that didn’t get infected when i changed to pagodas (i think that’s how you spell it). so yea just bc claire’s is cheap, don’t choose them.
I used to work at Claire’s (don’t recommend it) and was a “certified” piercer. This happened at the store I worked at too, haha. We usually ask people to remove their masks for the piercing cause it’s a risk. It’s really not that serious though; All you gotta do is remove the back of the earring, remove the mask strap, and put the back on again. As long as you don’t remove the earring, you should be fine :)) (the back of the earring might take some xtra effort to remove, but it can be. Just be gentle, haha)
I got my ears pierced at Claires and my ears have been totally fine with no infections at all. I've had my ears pierced 7 years ago. You just need to treat your ears correctly to not get infections!!😀
Yeah this is why I got my ears pierced at a tattoo parlor, they usually have a licensed piercer there and it's much less painful, also the workers are honestly the nicest people ever, and it's much more sanitary as well since you can't clean a piercing gun and they use a new needle straight out of the package for you if you get it done professionally at a tattoo/piercing shop.
I keep hearing how everyone had these super bad reactions to Claire’s free ear piercings, including my sister 😭 I guess I’m lucky cause mine didn’t get infected (it’s been 9 months since my piercing 💅🏼)
@@idk-ow9iu true lol, my sister went months before me and hers got super infected. When I went I didn’t get an infection, surprising though, cause the girl who did my piercings was *17* 💀 I didn’t even know they could hire an 17 year old I thought it was 20+ maybe
@@iiBleuFloraii wow, I hope your sister is doing ok- but yeah I don't think Claire's trains their employees very well. Be sure to be careful with your piercing No matter the place a piercing gun is very harmful to the skins tissue and can cause issues in the future. But if you take care of it you should be fine
Tbh I’d go to a professional body piercer cuz they actually clean the things the pierce u with and the mall devices are harder to clean therefore u get the bacteria in the “wound” and it’s easier to get an infection
The fact that his mask wasent even on his ear when he got it pierced is the reason why he’s so funny. EVERYONE RAID ALL THE CLAIRS TO DONATE YOUR ORGANS!! #Organdonatortoclairs #benoftheweek
That’s why you have to go to a professional to get it done, like at a tattoo or a body piercing shop where they actually know what there doing. You should always do your research first before getting a pricing so you know how to take care of it, especially do research on the shop you getting it done at. I’ve personally have had better experience at a piercing shop because they know what they’re doing, and know what to do if it gets infected.
The crunch- literally shivered- also never get piercings at Claire’s or icing (they are basically the same thing) they are known for infected piercings- I know they are cheap but just go to a tattoo parlor or modern mods, they are pricey but it’s worth it! I’ve gotten all my piercings at modern mods and none of them have gotten infected and healed really well! So please never get piercings at Claire’s or icing!
i got my ears pierced at claires and they never got infected- tbh a good experience (9 year old me got a plush) but either way there are HUGE risks of getting ears pierced there. i was just terrified of piercing/tattoo parlors but believe me, you will NOT die to go to a professional piercing place.
I got mine done at a Walmart (around 5-7 year old), can’t say for sure how effective they are but I’ve never gotten an infection. I want to get my third piercing in around college and will definitely go to a professional ear pierced to get it done though
First mistake, going to Claire's for a PIERCING. The way their piercing guns work is basically brite forces through the flesh or worse, cartilage. Imagine how much trauma that can cause? The place itself and tools arent very clean or sterile sooooo you could be getting someone else germs. To top it all off, the employees are severely under trained to be doing piercings. BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE! The butterfly backings they use can in a lot of cases start being pushed into the flesh of your ear and ot can get VERY swelled. And can we PLEASE stop giving babies piercings? (Another topic for another day) If you wanna get a child a piercing or get one yourself, got to a tattoo shop. Its cleaner, safer and much nicer of an environment. Instead of having people staring at you, its just you and the piercer in a nice, quiet environment. Ik the needle they use to pierce looks scarier BUT it glides through the flesh instead of brute force through. It also hurts 10 times less then the stupid guns they use at Claire's.
Damn it, I recently got my ears pierced at Claire’s for the SECOND time. My ears didn’t get infected, though. However, sometimes it gets reddish and itchy but that heals in a few days. I don’t want to lose my ears, though… Especially before 2022.
I have 4 piercings. My nose, my industrial/scaffold (an upper ear piercing) and the normal ear piercings. I only got my ears pierced at the mall and they’re the only ones that didn’t heal right :,)
Yep, I did it once at Claire's as a child(they also gave me the wrong advice and stuff like they told me to twist the earring around so that the hole would stay but that would be one of the reasons why it got blocked) and I got an infection in my earlobe, and it lasted for years. Then once it was fine after some treatment my sister wanted a second piercing so I got my first one there(I was still a child, just older than 5) when I went there it was so much more professional, they gave me the right advice and even took the time to explain to me why Claire's advice was wrong, they also gave me oil and treatments and things which Claire's actually didn't give, they also were kinder, were more patient (yeah I was so scared I tried to hide in the corner of the room-) and used a much better and less painful method!
I got mine at a tattoo place and they did a good job. Mine became infected tho by over salted water when cleaning them but they easily sorted it out and now my ears are normal
my ears were almost swolen shut over my earrings the next day but I like pulled the skin apart and 5 years later theyre finally fine so yeah claires sucks ass
For people hating on Claire’s, I got mine done at Claire’s and my ears didn’t get infected at all. It just depends on which one you go to I guess. You also have to CLEAN YOUR EARS 2-3 TIMES EVERY DAY FOR 6-8 WEEKS
You can’t sleep on new piercings they can swell and get infected and you can probably take the back of the earring off and be able to get the mask off. Also you need to clean it I have 5 piercings so I would know
I love how everyone is taken this seriously, I got my second loves at Claire’s and it was fine. Even for me to be rarely cleaning (bad I know) but they never got infected and yes they had you remove the sides of the mask just like they did to him lol. It’s a skit.
@@hello-ee6oo well that was incredibly lucky for you. and for her, very unlucky. She might have not gone to a good place or the person who did it didn’t do it correctly.
i literally got my ears pierced over there when i was younger, probably when i was 3-5. from where i lived they were really experienced. it just depends on the staff really :")
Yeah get your ears pierced by a professional. It will be pricy but it’s better than having to go to hospital. Also when gunk gets stuck in the gun they can’t clean it cause they will have to break the gun so it’s ya it’s very unsanitary
When I got my ears pieced at Claire's , they shot me with the piercing gun and the earing they gave me had a back that got stuck in the back of my ear and they acted like nothing happened then I had to go to the ER because MY FREAKING EARING BACK WAS STUCK INSIDE OF MY EAR. Basically after that my uncle who is literally the best, sued my local claires so yea everyone wondered why they shut down. SORRY ELLIE IT WAS ME BUT IT WAS ALL THE CLAIRES FAULT THEY MADE ME !!!
@@YourLocalKidnapper really? Because my ears have been pierced for 2 years and I took them out the same day (the same hour actually) to clean them really quick. If you don’t leave them out to long. And it’s the BACK don’t even have to take the full earring out
Yeah the piercing is free, the earring they use is like $40 and it's not even recommended by employees to get the cheapest earring for like $25 because it's so small, it can slide threw your piercing.
Yup, different place but I got my second hole done with a titanium ball and it was so small that every day I had to pop it back through the front opening
Happened to my sister. Woke up one morning and the steel ball had slipped backwars, inside the hole. She was ok, but at 12 years old, that's pretty terrifying to wake up to.
I actually like Claire’s, I’ve had 4 piercings done (which is funny, I’m 13) and I’ve never had problems, lol. To each their own, hope you got over ur infection! ❤
I got my ears pierced at Claire’s and it all went fine. Nearly 9 months after tho one still hadn’t healed and one night I couldn’t get my earring in so that had to close up. But until then they didn’t get infected, they just took a while to close
Yep Claires is awful for piercings, I got one done and it got infected so badly I had to go to hospital. I didn't need surgery but still. Turns out they don't disinfect the gun between uses.
@@wistymations I think you actually need to go to a professional and know how to do ear piercings but this is just what I’m recommending if one of you guys think about getting your ear pierced. Or just buy real earrings with real gold (in an other country like Colombia they have gold earrings there and that’s how I got my black ones at.) but yeah I don’t think Claire’s is a really good place to do ear piercings. I never did my ears there but I won’t.
