31-20 Nebraska. They may get several field goals but nebraska scoring 20-30 in first half against teams seems to be a trend I think continues. With a closer game going into the second half it may also help keep the foot on the pedal, Ik what you mean when you say up by 7 with 6 minutes remaining but I dont see it being that close that late. GBR
Fun Fact: I was at # 200 consecutive sellout game when Nebraska beat Colorado at home 24-7 on October 29, 1994. My girlfriend and I decided to storm the field but there was a State Trooper in front of us. We decided to go for it and jumped chain link fence and he didn’t stop us. Her watch came off and was trampled. I think the pictures I have framed on the wall downstairs with me hanging off the goal post were from this game too. It was then that I knew she was the one. We’ve been married ever since.
Nebraska 31 Illinois 17 Say it again brother! Haters will hate, but no matter who likes it or not, you cannot talk about the rich and history of college football without Nebraska being included that conversation. This is fact. There was a time when we were #4 on the all-time wins list trailing only Michigan, Notre Dame, and just behind either Ohio State or Texas. Had we continued our average of at least 9 wins per season, we may have climbed to #2 or 3 on the list. I believe Nebraska still has the most wins of any school versus division 1A programs as well as the most conference titles. So many NCAA records set by Nebraska are still standing or have only recently been surpassed. We’ve fielded arguably 2 of the top 3 greatest teams ever to play the game. The doubters and casual fans should learn the CFB history before they talk trash. GBR!!!☠️🌽
Thanks for the update on Micah. I sure like how he plays but he is kind of a caged tiger. Once again, the little things you bring up really open my eyes. I'm taking the under myself.
This year is different. The team is better and together. The fan base is on fire and ready. Friday's game wont be a walk in the park, but it'll show Nebraska is back and ready to fight. I agree with the 27-17 score. Maybe even 27-14. GBR!!
Illinois has beaten 2 cupcakes and a highly over-rated Kansas............Illinois's weaknesses are up against Nebraska's strengths............tough game ? yes, but I believe THIS game will show the college football world that we may have been missing and we are, indeed, late to the party but Rhule 's culture is to be admired and should be feared. As usual GREAT vid..................stay healthy and GO BIG RED !!!
😂bro let’s not talk about 2 cupcakes and a overrated team bro cause y’all beat 2 Horrible teams and also beat a very OVERRATED Colorado team bro😂😂, they went 4-8 last season and still playing bad this season bro so calm all that down, Nebraska ain’t did anything impressive either
Excellent analysis as always. I am not as confident for a win after watching UNI move the ball as easily as they did. If Raiola doesn't turn the ball over Nebraska has a chance for a close victory. GBR
I was thinking the same thing. Even if we have trouble running the ball, which I doubt. As long as Dylan has time to throw mix in draw plays and screens , we win . 36-16.
The sellout streak is massive. I hated hearing the nonsense of letting the streak run out during Frost's lousy era. Yeah, the team was not good then and the sellout streak was coming under fire for groups buying up unsold tickets. BUT WHAT OTHER PROGRAM has it's fans pick up the slack and buy some tickets to give out to other folks who normally might not be able to afford a game etc. Yup. Nowhere. It's been 61 straight years where the stadium is sold out. That is incredible. Think about how much the world has changed since 1962. Crazy to think about. I am a PROUD Nebraska FAN. GBR
Its great to be a Husker fan right now but......I think it has been too early for Husker fans to drink the Koolaid this much and a little too early for us to be ranked. If we handle Illinois that all changes. This is why, Nebraska has played 3 cupcakes so far. Pretty much 2 FCS quality teams and a team coming off a 4-8 season that hasen't changed much other than some players on o-line and d-line. No doubt the media was quick to rank the Huskers because of the hype and the eyes. Our struggles tackling and stopping the UNI run game is a glaring issue, especially in the Big 10. If Illinois wasn't ready with a plan they sure got a plan thanks to UNI. Illinois has bigger/faster backs than UNI and are smart enough to use the same type or run game as UNI did and mix in a lot of Bryant and Franklin along with the QB run and the tight ends and backs in the pass game. Kansas was no doubt overatted but I still believe people are underestimating Illinois. Their QB is lights out this year compared to last year. Ilinois is really going to test us and we will see the truth about our d-line, secondary and o-line. I predict a 17-14 and because its a home game I think we will have the energy to be better in the 4th quarter and hopefully execution to go with it.
Big 10 play is finally here. I say they open up the offense and put it on kill mode this week and if the defense doesn’t come out playing flat again this week and play like they’re capable of doing it’s gonna be a blowout!!! 42-10 Nebraska!!
I'm kind of tired of the betting lines in all sports. I'm a Husker fan all my life, and I moved to Oklahoma 38 years ago. A win. WIN THE GAME! GO BIG RED! (P.S. It irritates me that some OU fans are now calling their team Big Red... they're crimson and cream. Make up your own slogan Boomer Sooners)
We have to get back to our badass pass rush. If we put the same pass rush tonight that we did against CO, we will roll to a blowout. Our offense need to use the jet sweep,, counter motion, and most importantly, smash-mouth football. If we can run on them, the deeper passes will be easily open for Dyl. Our DBs need to look back and get two picks tonight. I always drives me crazy in years past that they miss INTs or get PI calls because they didn't simply look back for the ball. Our special teams need to be airtight. 45-10 NU
I usually always trust my gut and I got a bad gut feeling not going to like watching this game I have a feeling it will have everybody on that edge of their seats chewing their fingernails off and giving everybody heart pulpitations GBR for Life❤☠️🌽🎉
It’s about time Illini lose the turnover battle, we definitely need to disguise our defense in the secondary from cover two, zone and man coverage. and timely blitz.
It will be interesting as UTEP and Colorado O Line were GARBAGE and then playing a D1-AA school..... Nebraska only has 3 total sack vs UTEP and Northern Iowa..... Illinois will definitely have the best O Line that Nebraska has seen so far.....
Its going to be Dante and Emmit this week running it down their throats and if they miss a tackle on Emmit might as well kiss the baby!! 😂 Rahmir will play too for sure but he'll be catching out the backfield most likely.
Have you made a video or talked about how your Nebraska fandom started? I remember you saying you live on the west coast so I’m super curious how that went down!
Decibels Need to Be HIGHER! CMON! 117 db's not good enough! CU players said they could not Think it was so loud! Do 1% Better every Game ,SeaofRed!📢☠️📢
This game is huge as far as im concerned, a win would help the team in returning to being relevant and a win would definitely help with recruiting. I'm looking for the defence to really step up in this game and give us a win. 31- 12 Nebraska
Lets not get cray cray saying Nebraska will run for over 200 yrds---- This will be the best D Line/front that Nebraska has seen yet and Nebraska has barely had 150 yrds rushing the last 2 weeks.... I think Illinois will cover the +8.5
We all know NU needs to run the ball eat clock, and keep the Illinois Offense on the sideline. But I can assure you Satterfailed will abandon the run midway in the first and play right into the strength of the Illinois defense. I expect #69 to quit before halftime leaving the left side of our OLine inexperienced and undersized. The Defense will win this game, and Harbaugh will play a significant role in QB spot duty. NU Special teams will look like "Special needs" and aid in an Illinois TD. Nebraska's Defense holds off Illinois from scoring a last second TD and wins it 21-17....
The sellout streak is cool and everything, good for the program, but the fact that a large portion of the tickets are being sold in bulk last minute to boosters at a hugely discounted rate kinda takes away from it. I went to Iowa in Lincoln in 2021 and me and my girlfriend basically had an entire section to ourselves the entire game.... Awful lot of room for a "sellout".
That was happening during the Frost era for a few games before they hired a new coach and turned the program around. If it took boosters supporting and giving tickets away to underprivileged groups for 6 games while they transitioned, it’s hard for me to take anything away from the other 394 true sellouts lol. & they sold their game out against Iowa without having to donate tickets. Games like that weren’t the issue. People just wouldn’t show up because it was a guaranteed loss.
@@CornCrazed the whole point of a sellout streak is showing new recruits that the fan base is loyal and will stick by their side through thick and thin... And you just said that the tickets are being bought but the fans aren't showing up because it's a guaranteed L...need I say more? Lol, you're a smart guy, I'm sure you can see where I'm going with that point. And as far as donors buying up tickets to maintain the streak and "donating" those tickets... C'mon man, you know that's illegitimate. I won't twist your arm into admitting it, but I know that you know 😉
@codynieman3729 like I said, it was for a few games between 2021 and 2022. I find it really hard to critique a streak that stayed alive through the worst win drought for a blue blood in CFB history even if 5-15k fans weren’t showing up for a few games lol. & as far as the donor thing goes, it’s not illegitimate. Those donors are fans. They spent the money on the tickets, they weren’t given away for free. Again…… we’re not talking about an entire season. We’re talking about a few games. I’m not holding it against the streak when the tickets ended up getting sold and sales picked up again full force as soon as a new coach was hired.
@@CornCrazed the university saw that the game wasn't going to sell out on Saturday morning so they HIGHLY discounted the prices and gave the donors a nudge before kickoff. I dunno... to me that sounds like the athletic department and university donors in cahoots to ARTIFICIALLY keep the streak alive. The whole point of a sellout streak is a recruitment tool and bragging rights to show perspective recruits, "hey, we've got this ravenous fan base that packs this stadium every Saturday through thick and thin". A recruit ain't gonna be impressed by the reality which is, "we've got a ravenous fan base, we sellout every game... But there's about 20,000 seats that'll go unfilled if we have a down year and play a tough opponent". I'm not taking anything away from the current state of affairs. Nebraska has an unquestionably large and good fanbase, Raiola certainly seems to be the real deal, Nebraska is certainly turning things around, and they certainly are ACTUALLY filling memorial probably every game this season.... BUT, when they show that 400 on Fridays broadcast against illinois, I'll be thinking back to all those empty seats in 2021, and on my screen in my mind there will be an asterisk next to that 400.
@codynieman3729 it wasn’t a down year. It was a down 8 years. Nebraska was mismanaged, run into the ground and fans still showed up for 99% of the nonsense. The last 1% that you’re talking about was an extreme and the lowest point the Nebraska football program has seen in that last 65 years. You’re an Iowa fan, so I know the narrative they like to push since it’s a rivalry, but it’s a little ridiculous lol. Fans show up in record numbers to watch 5 win Nebraska teams play and they always have. It was one year at the very bottom of the shit show when donors came together to preserve a streak. It cost less than $100k and it went on for a total of 6 games. This is not a reflection of the sell out streak, what it means or how recruits would ever view the fan base lol
