I watched ALL the video You David had uploaded so far I NEVER see you said NOTHING about your Donation concerning the school & boring for water, WHICH I advice you to do on your upcoming Video, It will take less than 30 SECONDS.
Watching your content in cold northern hemisphere (Finland). I truly hope that people of Nigeria and all Africa could break free from unfair shackles western banking system have created. It's new era slavery. Sadly we are are part of that. While you are freeing yourself from it don't trust any new master while conquering freedom. Become new beacon of hope for the humanity. Stay strong, pray for yourself and for us.
You should invite me to Finland a country that I have always wanted to visit and to Nigeria a country that I have always prayed to be able to visit. I am living in Canada.❤
Wow! Over here this should get a Pulitzer Prize for a documentary. That mud is so heavy, can't believe the way they scoop it, haul it up and then carry it away. What strenuous work that must be and to see all the faces and smiles. Incredible people making the best in really tough conditions.
This documentary is so inspiring. Nigerians are the most hard working people on earth. No matter the conditions, we always find a way. I just wish this local process can be modernized and standardized so as to stabilize that local industry. We will get there one day.

Plateau State, Nigeria. Jos (nicknamed the #TinCity), the capital city of the State has the largest deposits of tin/columbite (part of which was greatly used in the colonial era developing the TinCan port in Lagos, West/former capital of Nigeria and rumoured to have contributed partly to the development in the post industrial era in Britain 🇬🇧) in Nigeria, one of coolest climate (temp. ~ 11-30°C) in the tropical savannah of Nigeria (jokingly called the 'Europe of the tropical belt by some) as it's an elevated region (averaging over 300m a.s.l, highest point at over 700m) hence, named 'Plateau State'.
Great reporting David. I noticed that all the people have such a strength of spirit and wonderful smiling faces. This is hard work and dangerous work, but the men and women work in harmony and I bet they sleep well each night and don’t need sleeping pills! I always enjoy your videos
Thank you Benjamin. Yes the people don't have much, but they are full of Joy and smile 😊. Nigerians generally have learnt to accept their situation in smiles. Thanks for watching Boss.
The paymasters leave the local people to use antiquated mining methods phased out nearly 200 years ago in the West and many places even the Middle East. The same goes for gold mining. What compensation exists for those injured during these dangerous excavations? 😳 This is just sad.
Great work ! This is the reality on ground. I grew up in Jos and these are the hustle we made to enable our education. From Tin to mining lead. The disappointing thing here is the fact that after all these toiling, someone's hard work is going to be exploited. In the end, the payoff is worth it.
They should have created shelter at the Mine-Hole-Exit and raised the entrance height with earth materials to prevent horizontal water from spreading into the pit
Wow Crazy My started his working life as a Pony Boy in a coal mine in Durham county UK but that was many many years ago. Sad that these fit young men have to risk their lives to make ends meet.
Thank you for this. I'm from Plateau but I've never been up close to a mining site before. This is very educative and makes u appreciate the struggles people go through. Hopefully many of these processes will be modernized to reduce the risk.
Since I discovered your channel, I have watched almost your videos.. Nice work you are doing. Big props and kudos to you and your crew. 🎉❤😊. Nigeria is such a beautiful place with very bad leadership. I pray that Nigeria will realise the beauty in our diversity and make the best out of it. I like your Channel. 🎉😊
This video is beautiful but Jos is actually the North Central region of Nigeria not Northern Nigeria (it is also known as the Middle Belt) thank you for this video, we’re hoping to see more content from Jos
...your comment is very timely becsuse it was the first comment to be read and it answered a question that immediately came to mind... that is, the assumed that it is in the north... can you please fill in more info as to the tribal and religious colour of this town... much appreciated if you know it.
@@Miriamdido middle belt is not geographical expression and yes Plateau is in northern Nigeria and the capital city of Jos are predominantly Hausa people and other places like Wase
THANK YOU FOR ALWAYS GOING EXTRA MILES TO MAKE SURE YOU BRING INTERESTING AND FASCINATING VIDEOS TO US. I HAVE BEEN ON THIS CHANNEL SINCE MONDAY WATCHING OLD VIDEOS, YESTERDAY I WATCHED YOUR VISIT TO BONNY RIVER STATE, TODAY I WATCHED YOUR VISIT TO SABON GARI KANO STATE... NOT A NEW SUBSCRIBER THOUGH. I ACTUALLY DISCOVERED THIS CHANNEL WHEN SOME STATES IN NIGERIA WAS FLOODED AND SINCE THEN I'M LOME TOGO BUT I HAVE TRAVELED AROUND NIGERIA WITH YOUR VIDEOS. KUDOS NWANNE, MAY GOD CONTINUE TO PROTECT AND GUARD YOU.
It's a real pity that they have to mine manually. I remember the one former governor of Plateau (Joshua Dariye) was caught with a briefcase stuffed with pound stirling. I'm sure he wasn't the only one that did this. Just think how all those millions could be put to good use. I thought the tin deposits had been exhausted when the British left. I remember reading about it in school in the UK. They also mined "columbite" too. You already covered the gemstones in Taraba State.
Yes and there is no police or military harassment but oil bunkery is illegal. One Nigeria indeed. Why can't the Federal govt regulate this sector as they run after oil ?
How about putting up a make shift shade over the pit at least to prevent the risk of water flooding from rain, and also shielding those rolling the pully from the heat of the sun.
Your cheerful disposition makes these videos very fun to watch....even in the dirt and wind! Thank you for the subtitles. Can you leave them on screen longer, please?
I See. What does the machine looks like and how much will it cost? And am sure with we your we your subscribers should do something or partnership will go a long way. Don`t you think?
It not yet tin but tin-ore probably cassiterite. U could find other useful metals together with the ore such as Cobalt etc. It is bad enough after this much struggle they still sell much cheaper than if they sold Tin I pray that God grants them safety in Thier work.
Thing is, they can demand 5x what they're getting paid. It's called hazard pay here in America. And demand a settlement payment if they are injured or killed doing the work so that their family will not suffer financially. All these things are negotiable. They're paying them pennies while they make thousands on those same pennies. They can demand safer working conditions for the mines. The mines should be supported so that they do not collapse. Gotta do what you gotta do to make a living but pay and safety are valid negotiable subjects. Shoot, let them form a union that can negotiate on their collective behalf.
I wish it were that simple, but life in north america is much different. We pay 100x the price for it here, and are so far removed from what happens where it's sourced. The profit along the way can be used to help things, if you get the corps to do it.. or they'll just increase the price here even more...
You're talking theory. They're not working for any companies. They dig of their won accord and sell at world market price. You can't cheat them. What they're selling is brute Mineral, what you're talking about is refined Mineral. Both are by far apart from Raw Ore to the Mineral. Those who do the transformations are another sector that have their own troubles. Minerals are not the theories on the pages of newspapers or sensations of social Media.
Respect to how strong African people are. Sad we were let down by our evil politicians. These could have been a modern and thriving industry in Jos that should be operating in a first world level with ultra modern technology and safety standards with guaranteed PPE and healthcare for the workers. This is why we need an intelligent person to lead us instead of a demented and sick old man who is also a criminal and an illiterate. A person who understands taxation, commerce and industry plus the value a country can provide and receive by merely looking after the welfare of its citizens.

This is valuable information my lovely brother maybe if they had investment in mining equipment from the diaspora such as myself this would help the people and Nigeria ❤
YOU ARE DOCUMENT REAL LIFE OF GREAT PEOPLE. IT IS BAD THAT THEY HAVE TO DO SUCH A DANGEROUS JOB. WE HAVE BETTER TECHNOLOGY WHY ARE THEY NOT PROVIDED IT?
Yes government many times the government will provide subsidies to stabilize and or develop an industry to the point where private y will see it a more viable with a greater possibility to develop and maintain growth It would be a kick start
It's often used to make things like solder for electronics, protective coatings for other metals, and even some types of batteries. It's a helpful material that's used in many different ways
You can not just sell Mining Rights to developers, when the resources are not of economic importance. If you industrialize what should be artisanal, there will be losses. Government is not stupid. They know that the area has been going through exploitation for hundreds of years and therefore depletions are the issues or deep mining procedures undertaken which requires lots of algorithms before you give it considerations. Not all deposits are for industrial importance
This is primitive mining. Why can’t our government invest in these industry and in our economy and stop risking the lives of our people like this? We need Peter Obi as president ASAP.
If we keep making excuses and waiting for government ...Nigerian youths will not achieve anything. The youths have decided to dump all excuses and advance regardless... N it's paying off.
Minerals Mining categories dépend on many factors which I can not bother you with. If you see that Government is looking away, they're not stupid. e get y
