@@mayureshbhattu7325 rules werent changed in the mid race, drivers were told in the race briefing that they couldn't leave track during an overtake or else track limits would apply (which was confirmed by some drivers during post race presentation). Which was leaving a gray area and it would be easy if they just kept as a yes or no situation. So yeah please have proper knowledge before commenting about a topic.
A fact if you don't know Niki told Micheal to join Ferrari when he was deciding to join McLaren and then he became 7 time world champion.So today we have both the 7 time world champion just because of him

And now they say that he won just because of the car, they forget the balls that this dude has to leave second best team at that time to join a midfield team and help making that car to win Wc. Lauda is an absolute titan. He lived and breathed the sport. Undoubtedly one of the most consequential figures in the history of F1 and right there with Senna, Schumacher and Stewart. He is sadly missed.
Well this happens alot in football. I don't watch other sports so I can't say about other sports. As far as Motorsports go I've never heard about this happening and ultimately being really successful

He referenced constructors. Juan Fangio never won a constructors title with Mercedes. It literally didn’t exist yet. Note he said 5th further proving they were talking about constructors. This conversation was referencing their 2012 initial talks. If they were talking drivers, he would have said p4. Nico was p9 but already on the team. When he said “you” he meant win Mercedes a world title. The idea was if the team is going from P5 to champion, pretty good chance he can take a drivers title too.
People don’t realize that Lewis helped a 5th place constructors team go to the very top for 8 consecutive years for the constructors and he became the first WC in Mercedes, became a 7x WC, and has broken records that no one right now, can touch. He helped developed a car and made a bullet train of a W11 and he uses all the hate towards him to still race and be competitive in the new era. But people now still say that it’s all about the car…
I'm pretty sure the designers, researchers and engineers who came up with the most dominant power unit in the sports history are the people deserving the credit for Mercedes success. Lewis was just lucky that Niki approached him and convinced him to leave McLaren.
Mercedes was working on a V6TH before 2010 and were the ones who lobbied the FIA to set it as the new engine regs. The first few years they just had the engine turned down and would turn it up incrementally as other teams caught up (confirmed by Lowe). The mercedes PU was extremely dominant up until around 17-18 when ferrari was using a few tricks before that disappeared and Mercedes was still far in the clear
No, Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg helped get Mercedes from 5th to 1st. Lewis joined when the hard work was done. All he had to do was drive fast and keep doing that. Michael and Nico built the team, developed the car and supplied more of the groundwork than anyone else who has ever driven for the team. Lewis just had to win, then the Domino effect ensured he could keep winning.

You can't argue the Schumacher theory from 2012 and 2014's car because it used a totally different design concept. If it was still a V8 Type chassis which was lighter etc then you would be right. But in this case I'll only give you half points because Rosberg was still there, But any further development would be down to Lewis and Rosberg/Bottas

@@Ale-nv2boI found out that Fangio's Mercedes team was actually Argentinian. So Hamilton is the first champion for a Mercedes "Werksteam" under German flag. It's no secret that Mercedes started early to develope the hybrid, but how could Hamilton know how it works out in advance? He still had to believe in Niki and the team.
And the rest is history! It was always great seeing him around the track in Melbourne. I was also lucky enough to have him sign a black and white photo I had of him racing in a car. RIP LEGEND

He engineered and manifested some pretty great legends. The sport will never forget him, still doesn’t feel like he is truly gone. Probably because it feels like he is practically edged into history of all the grand prixs existence.

@@h0rus96 yes agree but when did they start winning which is the point I’m making, when hybrid tech was applied. Everything that Mercedes’ have won since 2013 is all within the hybrid era. And I’m not saying it’s not interesting engineering I just don’t think it has done any favours for the sport. There is no point to watch F1 to see which is the best driver these days it’s all about the cars. The driver influence is maybe 20% versus car and team 80%. I’m not really a Moto GP fan but its the opposite with 80% rider and 20% bike. If you want to see who is the best driver then hold a go kart race with standardised karts and get the drivers to race on a load of different tracks and see who comes out top overall. Simples. I mean in F1 these days the big teams have around 20 people just to decide tyre strategy, it’s a joke. The FIA keep applying more rules in an attempt make it more exciting and it just gets worse year on year. They are even trying to make it energy efficient 😂. I mean what should be the one last place we can celebrate the combustion engine is unfortunately every year getting more and more filled with nonsense. This should be the one place you can forever celebrate a V10 or V12 screaming around a track and year on year the cars should be getting faster not slower. The cars now can barely beat the pre-hybrid era ones. And that’s the point they should be 10 seconds a lap quicker than those cars from 15+ years ago, even Le Mans cars can embarrass F1 these days. There should not even be a challenge to F1 being the fastest and it should be by a long way. If you want electric then there is a separate race for that, it’s just not the same feeling to watch you modern cars. The excitement has been so watered down by rules. Hopefully it’s not RIP F1 please someone sort it out.

As someone born in 2000 and over the years been watching it more, I can say it’s a true blessing to have even lived in the same lifetime as Niki Lauda, what a wonderful man and true inspiration for all young drivers
From what I heard/read Mercedes has been working on hybrid engine since 2007, a whole 5+ years before the regulation change. I think there is something shady going on behind the scenes
If Lewis said no, the next driver on their list was Hulkenberg. They liked the idea of being an all-German team, and they would've made Rosberg the number 1 driver.
@@Italia216 a free to race policy doesn't mean there isn't a preferred driver. Rosberg would've been the preferred driver if Hulkenberg was signed, if that hits your ear a little better.

It was the cleverest move. Hamilton knew Mercedes had developed the new engine format with the split turbine long time ago and had therefore had a huge head start designing the cars aero around that.
The real answer was: we have been working on the hybrid engine for years and we think that we have such an advantage that we will dominate for years. Easy peasy.

What? Fia had been in talks about switching to v6 hybrids since 2005 every team was present at the meetings and it was very clear that steps were being taken to move to v6. Mercedes already being a world leader in hybrid engines due to their road cars had a huge advantage with the mgu-h….literally nothing was stopping the other teams from doing the same, they got caught with their pants down come 2014
It always amazes me how he’s behind 2 of the biggest driver moves in F1. First with how he convinced Schumacher to join a struggling Ferrari when Niki was their advisor who went on to win 7🏆 and then convinced Lewis Hamilton to join a struggling Mercedes who also went on to 7🏆 . Greatness sees greatness and Niki saw greatness in them.
