This guy is good, he totally saved my sanity. He’s the most knowledgeable person in regards to sleep I’ve ever found. Trust him, follow his advice, your life will improve by an order of magnitude.

Anxiety is absolutely the worst part . I had never had anxiety before this and it took over my life . The being ok with it took time and I had to find ways to achieve this which is why I made the list of things to do at night . If I was anxious and just wanted to sleep I would scan the list of things and find something I felt like doing instead . I lowered my expectations of sleep and just thought . I’ll go back To sleep when I’m tired again and if I have to get up again I will . The anxiety got smaller and the more It shrank the more I slept

I found writing a list of possible things in advance helpful and then when I get up I go To my list and see what feels best at the time .

The "be okay with being tired" part is not the problem, if I'm just tired it is fine. But it's the horrible anxiety, especially towards the evening, that makes it so difficult imo. Anxiety is way worse than being tired. But I assume you have to be okay with this too

I overcome the fear I just expected bad nights and took them as they came but it still didn't resolve fully I was sleeping somewhat but not every night. Ended up cracking and going back on mirt.

@@danh2310Maybe the ‘expectation’ is just that, a self fulfilling thought? I’m in the same boat but I think it is essentially a psychological issue and can therefore be resolved through positive psychological actions, I hope I’m right🤞Good luck

@userfile007 I think befriending wakefulness is a massive part of overcoming it. Easier said than done when your craving sleep. I tried all the positivity every little helps I guess. It's bringing that last bit of arousal down. Just as I'm drifting off

How long did it take? I lowered my anxiety and worry around bad nights but still struggled. some nights i sleep some it takes hours.

@sameerchahal-xv8zr mines nothing to do with thoughts. It's hyperarousal and awareness of not being asleep. Il get there. Its all about befriending wakefulness for me.

That was what I was dealing with . I’d fall asleep for a few seconds and then be woken up with a band ant it would happen all night . The more it happened the likelyhood of getting any sleep at all disappeared. It took time but accepting wakefulness is the answer and accepting tiredness and accepting that it may take time and making the best of it . I can honestly say my sleep is 100 percent back to normal now .

@@ninaayoub7634 how bad was your struggle? It’s been almost a year since I had my daughter and my sleep has been getting worst. I average somewhere 1-2 hrs of sleep at night. I live my life and have accepted that this will be my life forever 😢

It won’t be your life forever . I had mine for about a year before it got really bad and then when I seeked help for it it took another year but when I worked with Martin it only took a few months . Having a young baby makes things much much harder . As the baby gets a bit older , it makes it much much easier . Things will change for you ! You don’t have much control with a 1 year old and hormones are still all over the place . It’s hard. Give you self a pat on the back and make sure to do some self care . You’ve got this

Dear Martin: I just realised recently that anxiety ( sympathetic) is the cause of insomnia… my question please: i fall asleep very quickly for 2-3 seconds then I become alert , some fear , palpitations…this repeated many times and preventing sleep , they call it hyper vigilance…how to overcome this and allow smooth sleep. Thanks dear.

Is there any covid infection or injection recovery stories? I’ve been dealing with issues falling asleep and fragmented sleep after 5 hours after my last booster shot months ago.
