Many people acked me in comments: Where do tundra nomads get all the cigarette and chocolate and lots of condensed milk? Their grocery shopping is very tricky thing! So I decided to dedicate a new video to this interesting process
The blue eyes of the reindeer! I recently learned that their eyes turn from brown in summer to blue in winter. The blue helps them see better in the low light of arctic days. They are the only mammals on Earth to have this adaptation 🤩
As someone with no sense of direction, I am amazed how they know their way around the tundra. Getting to the town when there’s nothing but snow surrounding then for 186 miles. 😳
As someone who has visited the tundra, I can only say that it’s not an easy life. It’s so cold out there that you don’t shiver but your body aches in pain. Three days and I spent most of it indoors whereas these people are constantly working for their survival and the survival of their animals.
@@lovely_351 not really. Their ancestors settled there long ago and the future generations have only known this life. They might not even have enough money to get settled in urban areas.
@@yuhyuh5674 theyve become genetically and culturally accustomed to this climate and way of life, sending them to urban areas and deculturalizing them will lead to high suicide and alcohol abuse rates among other modern social problems which they do not have
Adapt or evolve maybe their skin is not the same as ours anymore same as those water nomads in Southeast Asia where they can breath longer in the water.
the baby in the shop staring at all the treats they're getting XD so cute. Its clear they could easily survive without all the luxuries but sometimes the luxuries is what can turn a bad day bareable, so I could see why they'd want to restock on little things like treats and pasta etc
I am hooked watching this series, how we take for granted everything we can acquire like eating hot meals everyday . Really amazed by the simplicity of life far from civilization.
While they may not have the material things we associate with the word civilisation, they have things which the "civilised" world sadly lacks......peace, harmony, tight-knit families and freedom. Which way of life is the more civilised? I think their way beats ours hands down. I know I would never survive more than a few hours out there, and I know the physical reality is brutally hard, but I envy the bedrock of their civilisation.
@@snowysnowyriver you make their lives sound like an easy fairy tale. You have no idea if their life has "peace" and "freedom". You have no idea if there is abuse in these "close knit" families. I'm sick of people saying they envy them. Maybe these women don't all want to live like this.
Much respect to them. I love winter, but I wouldn’t want to live this way. I do love how they seem happy with what they have. They seem so grateful. And the work never ends!
Same here. I'm used to eating cook meat, hot shower and cook our food in the kitchen not in one room that would drive me nuts. Heck I don't even fry anything in our home. I cook it in our backyard. Can't stand the smell of fry fish etc.
At first glance you'd see a simple life out of necessity...but at the end when the lady speaks and says - "...no shops, no temptations, no waste time...", then you realize they know more than most people in this world.
It must be in their blood to live such lives in those cold places. They all help each other and are real survivors. This is amazing how happy they seem to be.
My great grandfather came from this life. He moved to the US and married an Irish woman who gave birth to my grandfather who moved further in and fought in WW1 and WW2. He married a German woman who gave birth to my mother who then gave birth to me. I look at the pictures of my great grandfather. It's so endearing to me how strong he was. I live in constant fear that one day I will lose everything. I doubt this family worries that much. It's an odd feeling I can't describe watching this video.
I have such high respect to their lifestyle… i travel 3mins down the road to buy my groceries, i can’t imagine how far they travel just to get their basics… such an eye opening for me ❤
Western world is a very spoiled and materialistic civilization. They create wars on purpose to make profits. They used sexualization of children to change laws. The western world is evil in so many ways. The people allow the Khazarians to rule the lives of the American people. The American people are blinded or choose not to care what happens in other countries and States. America is a selfish country compared to Africa. India, Malaysia etc..The children of North America have no survival skills. They know there computer and the artificial intelligence has made the youth extremely intelligent compared to others outside of America.
The kids are so cute. I hope they all have a happy life and longevity. The rest of the civilized world is so full of sadness, evil and chaos. Love and peace from Memphis TN
Indeed. They aren't like us who live an easy and privileged life. We have everything at our fingertips and we're never pleased or happy with what we have. Puts things in perspective.
Grew up on an Indian Reservation and I think I have way much easier but, its kind of heartwarming to see people living the same I used to. Not in teepees but like in put together structures with the bare minimum. A bed, a stove, a table, and some chairs. To me its reminds me that at the end of the day their people trying to survive in the only they know how. Living the same why I do now with what they have and making their living same way but with herding. They live a hard life and they try and make it easier and happy as they can. Wouldn’t you?
@@glow1815Exactly, in Russia they get money from government and their profession is called оленевод. I have no idea how much is it. They have a choice, only primary school is obligatory. No one keeps them forcefully in reservation, most of siberian ugro-finnic nations live in cities and have modern life.
So cute when the baby took a seat at the table, and was ready to eat. It's amazing to watch these families manage to survive in their freezing cold environment. I admire them greatly. God must take pleasure in looking down upon them.
@@pacman5511 Allah SWT enjoys the highest of pleasures. We are subordinate to him regardless. Even if we greatly hated Him, we cannot truly be at peace with this hate, it is our nature to love Him in return. It is better to love our creator, as He reminds this world does not belong to us, only to Him, and to Him we will return. Nothing we do is without Him who allows it.
My husband was stationed in Alaska for 2 yrs...there was ALOT to get used to! That was as much of the cold as I ever want to experience!! Much respect to these people!!!!
I found my self a new obsession i am hooked on this series and plenty more like this i've learned to appreciate what god has blessed me with and i respect the woman and men for the role they each play in there daily living they are dedicated to their reindeer and each other in such extreme bitterly cold harsh weather god bless them all
I feel like I'm watching a National Geographic documentary or BBC series. Great shots and videography. You are talented and skillful in capturing these people and the realities of their lives. Thank you for doing this and sharing with us. New subscriber.
What a fascinating and simple way of life! It really shows what the bare necessities are when it comes to not just surviving but even having a decent life. When she was saying, no shop, no temptation, no wasted time, I was scrolling through an online shopping app, and I was guilty as hell 😂
Life's what you make it. This way of life could be modernized. You don't have to worry about government trying to ruin your life if you're away from so called civilization.
Much respect to you guys. Wow, travelled 300 KM to a near store to spend 800 rumbles ( $14 dollars). Most of the people can’t even walk 5 min to a store without using a food app. Bravo 👏
All that way for such a small amount of groceries, crazy! I love being able to see how others live, it really can turn a ungrateful day into a thankful one. I don't think I would survive living this way, these are strong people! Edit 07/05/23 : I would just like to say that I did see they bought other items like yogurt and other foods. I guess I'm just so used to seeing massive carts of groceries in local marts for families. And to my understanding, they eat a lot of high protein/fat so they require less "junk" like we city folk do!
Same here, that’s such a long travel and he buys 2 cartoons of juice and 3 chocolate bars? Makes no sense! Unless they really bought a lot of the canned goods in the other store that was mentioned right after!
You know, there is absolutely no reason for them to live there-there are big cities and towns with everything, including schools for their kids, they CHOOSE not to. They do have a choice, they can easily move. they choose to live their traditional lifestyle.
I'm even more amazed at the dogs, how they're able to trot and play in that subzero snow, totally adapted to the weather! As a native floridian with a chihuahua, it marvels me 😂
There is something touching about this lifestyle, the close bond they must have to manage and live together. The food and everything is so strange to me but the people seem lovely and the children are adorable.
I just love the little shop they use to buy groceries. Like the cashier standing behind the counter in wait of what you need and putting it on the counter, it's like something out of a Videogame.
❤❤. These people have such endurance. Yet people here complain because someone put mustard on their burger and get violent. These people have such a hard life and we need to be soooo appreciative of what we have. Maintaining their culture and lifestyle comes with many challenges and sacrifices. Thanks 🙏 for sharing this video.
Sending love to the very beautiful Tundra people. Safe travels for them always. I hope this reaches you and those you love in great health and happiness❤️🙏😎
🙏🏽❤ Yes, love from me too! I love how happy their dogs are when they come home -- exactly like our dogs when we come home! Some things are the same, wherever families live 🥰
My grandmother is native Siberian, unfortunately she passed away when I was a kid. I'm grateful for everything she taught me and I'm happy to watch this video tonundertand more how people live in cold weather. I enjoy winters more than summers I can't tolerate heat so much, something is pulling me towards living in Russia and I don't know what it is.
Добрые,открытые люди,всегда вызывают у меня уважение!! Условия жизни очень тяжёлые,труд оленевода тоже не из лёгких.но они улыбаются,радуются ,растят детей .пусть у них всё будет хорошо!!!!
@@burakbayir4919 Why are you writing lies? These peoples have benefited greatly from the alliance with the Russians. The Russians brought them modern medicine, education and civilization. Before the arrival of the Russians, they had a huge infant mortality and epidemics, which they managed to overcome, because the Russians opened hospitals there, treated and vaccinated the children of nomadic peoples. Indigenous peoples are also rich people, they make good money selling reindeer meat, fish, and deer antlers. They have bank accounts.
No, Soviets killed them in ww2 times . They were speaking Turkic. U forced them to speak russian. Siberia does not belong to russians. its mother territory of turk and mongols. you all will burn in hell for that.

I live in a tropical archipelagic country, and I will probably never feel snow in my life. This is beyond fascinating for me. Thank you for sharing it. I did not even know that there are reindeer herders. And that they've maintained the centuries-old nomadic lifestyle. They remind me of indigenous communities living in the mountains in my country. Except that they're not nomadic and have learned to settle and farm crops.
@@Pactastic042 probably. i'm used to the heat, so i get lazy in the cooler months instead. it makes me want to stay in my bed. i also wonder if i were in a freezing cold country all-year long, maybe i will be lazier and just stay in my bed keeping myself warm lol
I love the Nomads! I'm in California, where its always the same. Sunny and warm, however,I yearn and pray that it may snow. Plus look at the nomad wives, such beautiful, radiant skin, and just the cinstiutuin of these people radiates, strength, humility, and heritage. Gid bless from norh Hollywood
Honestly watching this made me happy, like look at how peaceful life is ❤ also watching how they made their food and everything just looks delicious and amazing.
Wow, moving every 3 or so days!!! Seriously amazing. I was stupidly thinking at the start "hmm, wonder why they don't build a wooden home?", well now I know. Truly amazing individuals.
When it said that they move every two or three days, it struck me that here was a very effective way for the rest of us to solve the problem with hoarding or just accumulating too much stuff. If I knew I had to pack up everything I own and move in two days, believe me, a HUGE haul would be headed for Goodwill! I would make minamalists look like hoarders!
My Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) says, "In this life i am like a person who takes a break under a tree and then packs and moves on".. whenever they win or lose, in both cases again he says "The real life is after-death life!".. we hook on everything here for vain actually we define many things as "need" while they are not really in fact.. like a fish hooked in a net, which eventually makes it a delicious dish for some others..

What a fascinating look into the unique lifestyle and resourcefulness of the nomadic peoples indigenous to the Arctic tundra regions! This video provided incredible insights into how they adapt and overcome the immense logistical challenges of "grocery shopping" while living a nomadic existence in one of the world's most isolated environments. I was amazed by the meticulous organization and pre-planning required to stock up on all their supplies for extended periods cut off from any towns or shops. The scenes of them methodically loading sleds with everything from canned goods and flour to candy bars and cigarettes really highlighted how self-sufficient they must be. It was humbling to see how mundane items I take for granted require an epic improvisational journey across punishing landscapes for these communities. I can't imagine the level of preparation needed to predict their families' needs months in advance and gather what limited provisions are available from remote trading outposts. At the same time, the ingenuity in rationalizing resources and minimizing waste was inspiring. You could feel their deep appreciation for simple conveniences, evident in how excited the children were for treats like condensed milk. It was a poignant reminder of what's truly essential. Beyond the captivating visuals of loaded-down sleds traversing frozen tundra and rivers, I appreciated the cultural insights woven throughout. You provided a respectful glimpse into how their provisioning traditions connect them to the land and reinforce self-reliance and strong family bonds. While their supply journeys are utterly unique, at its core this highlighted our shared human needs for sustenance and comfort - just accomplished through vastly different means in the extreme Arctic. An illuminating window into survival skills from another era and ecosystem.
I wish i could li e this life they live being native american my daddy and his parents my grandparents lived on a res and they had to travel with 15 kids yes my grandmama had 15 babies and my daddy was one of them.. i would live how my ancestors lived in a heartbeat .. what a beautiful way.. respect
I love these people. So polite, easy to make happy. I'm a tropical person and I'd never survive in this environment. But I understand how great such a life can be.
It’s very reverse lifestyle , sun drains out a lot of energy, tropical people tend to be slow and a bit lazy , while when you live in this kind of cold environment you gonna die if you won’t move , you have to get up and do something )
@@toprakbulut7964 slow amd lazy. Wow. Its just that we have more resources and hence less need for work. I mean in a temperate climate you plant what once a year. We plant up to four times. We're not lazy. We're just blessed. But to say lazy, wow. And we have less need for war.
This is an amazing program. The life is so hard. The men and women are brave, courageous, and strong. The children are so capable. For them it’s a constant fight for survival, hence people don’t have time to waste and misbehave. They learn patience and tolerance. There’s team effort, team spirit, and camaraderie. Such a hard life!! Greetings from a Polish Australian.
I love this!! I enjoy watching and learning about new places, people, and things that I wouldn't know about otherwise! It's amazing to me that we all live on the same planet, yet there are places that seem so foreign when we learn about them! Great show!

@@qjtvaddict USA really could use some TLC, but I’d rather live in poverty in the US than live the way these nomads do. I respect their lifestyle, it’s not one I want for myself

These vlogs will be helpful to the anthropologists of the future, I love what you guys do and I hope (with due respect) this is honest work and not exploitation. Thank you.
Those people are loving towards each other no money can buy that quality. It is a great lesson for all of us. I would love to give each family some warm clothes and blankets. I wish the government can be generous to them.
The beauty in these humble, happy, healthy and hearty people is something very special! I love the mom who says with cheekiness and twinkle in her eyes, "We shop once and live easy... no waste in time and no temptations." She absolutely knows the value in her family's lifestyle. I have to show my jaded boys the little Arctic boy who looked with huge eyes and wonder at all the "luxuries" on those 7 shelves in that simple one room store. Maybe then they'll appreciate our local Costco warehouse and not complain about the lack of latest trending snacks and junk food. Perspective is powerful.
Man… I was watching the whole time impressed with how these people cope in these harsh conditions, and then at the end it’s revealed they move their entire camp every 2-3 days my mind was blown.
Thank you for sharing another great and wonderful video. Fascinating to see how people are sustaining themselves under adverse conditions. Much ❤️ love from Cape Town ❤️
Thank you for this wonderful video. It answers questions that I have had. They are truly blessed to have such a simple and happy life. I have dreamed of visiting the Arctic since I was in elementary school. Thanks for a great series.
