As soon as I saw the torch on that glass I was thinking "Oh, this isn't good!" and then...snap, crackle, pop!!! 😲 That siphon coffee maker is a damn clever device but it seem like a lot of work for a cup of coffee. Of course, I'm not a coffee drinker so I have no idea if the end result is worth the effort.

Yes it was a case of acting before thinking. It was too hot too quick. And yes, the siphon coffee maker is more of a ritualistic type of coffee maker and not something I would use on a daily basis. More of a cool coffee maker to show friends and family on special occasions. I'm not sure I could tell the difference if the coffee was made in a siphon coffee maker against a regular drip coffee maker

Your taking the Professor Doug to the next level. I see you got a metal roller. Those rollers are it-tee-bit-tee compared to the photos I sent you. At least you gave the coffee maker ideal “the old college try”! Must have been community college! Haha just kidding, love that joke. Do you think the second one broke because of uneven heat exchange? A girlfriend mom from years ago made this fudge brownie thing. Where she put the coffee grinds in it. She said the coffee was so good, didn’t want to waste it. How goes the bus conversion? Hope all is well.

In my case it would have been clown college...for real haha. Honestly, I think the reason the second glass cracked was due to my impatience. Too hot, too fast.

funny video. Now I need one of those coffee makers. Since Im a Boilermaker/Welder Blacksmaith coffee is a must try. ( Hopefully shipping is not too much for us in Canada.)

Hey artfully rogue, I commented a long time ago and I believe you said that you were working on a video talking about the business aspect of your work. Such as if you are an llc, where to start with taxes, keeping track of material/material finances, mistakes you made starting out. I believe I asked something of that sort. Do you think you would still be interested in a video like that?

Hi there Sheena, I did end up shooting a 4 part video that spoke about "Making a Living as a Maker" in those video I did briefly cover settings up your business entity, product cost etc. Have you had a chance to see those videos? If you have, are you wanting to know something more specific?

I fresh grind my beans at time of brewing. I pulverize it to fine pieces to be sure the coffee is pulled by hot water to get all flavor from coffee into my cup. Lol. I’ve used electric grinder for 39YRS/same grinder. BUT IM LOOKING FOR AN OLD STYLE GRINDER FOR MANUAL GRINDING. DISABLED I DONT HAVE BUDGET TO BUY THEM AS THEY ARE OVER PRICED. YOU KNOW OF SOMEONE TO MAKE ONE AT A FAIR PRICE. God bless.

I definitely could have added more coffee. I wasn't sure how much to add for the siphon coffee maker so I opted to go less at first. My second attempt much richer flavor. I would still love to try Brazilian coffee. So far my favorite is a Tanzanian Peaberry.

That coffee maker is a great novelty but for every day, get yourself a French press. That's how I've been making coffee for 10 years and I have no regrets.
