I m using raspberry pi 4 with 500gb nvme SSD HDD for data sharing, configured openmedia vault and portainer with multiple containers, almost 1 and half year working excellent till now no issues...
Containers like Apache, dashmachine, guacmole, heimdall, jellyfin, mariadb, ngix-proxy-manager, pihole, syncthing, cloudflare ddns, pritunl, gitea, nextcloud and so on
@@yathavsritechnology8950 Hi brother, I'm also using Raspberry Pi storage server with Open media vault for the past 5 years. I would like to get connected with you. Could you please share your contact details?
Bro you're making the video length more by doing unwanted things (cleaning, screwing, etc..). Just a feedback. Try to make your content crisp and upto the point.
I maintain the machines in pristine condition so that no dirt distracts my focus towards work. I also pay attention to details while building a machine as much as I do in application deployments. So i tried to make a video of it..
One doubt. Enkitte oru old computer iruku adhule Linux mint cinnamon os run aavudhu. Enkitte oru laptop hard disc iruku adhu portable driver le pottu pen drive maathiri use pandren, indha hard disc computer le plugging pannaal work aagale, mobile and laptop le support aavudhu, computer leyum support aagura maathiri panna mudiyuma?
Check the power supply from the usb port of the laptop. When the usb is too old , it might not give enough juice to spin the drive. Else use an external power supply and connect it to laptop
I am develop smart home devies with ESP32.... I am using... I am using thrid party clouds......Ardunio, Blynk, cadio, sirnic pro.. Paid cadio platform is Parmenent license unit esp32...... So pls how my own server create any platform are there free life time free... Pls tell me
Good to see these videos. Keep posting. Also if possible please post video about home media server using Jellyfin kind of an software. Using raspberry pi or PC.
I have been running type 1 hypervisor so far and now moving to docker... raspberry pi i dont think its worth the cost anymore since the x86 systems at slightly higher price gives better performance at a lesser power consumption than the pi itself. 👍
I m waiting for next video .Linux server UBUNTU SERVER try pannunga naveen My suggestion . Emby and Plex mathri media server application test pannunga , pi-hole ad blocker and Docker containers application and one cloud mathri file manager application and finally Free nas Raid software os test Pannunga naveen 😀😀😀 Neenga Enna application software use panna poringanu eagerly waiting 😎😎😎
Hint: this is about an upcoming work am gonna take. And the apps you have mentioned, I almost use them all in my home lab for the past 5 years. It's flawless and satisfactory..

My codes are tailor made for my usage pattern. General purpose codes are in git by many users. I'm not asking everyone to use my code or setup, but to come up with their own solution.

Your old laptop is capable enough to run a home service comfortably. Its a pretty perfect balance between energy efficiency and power. Just make sure it has good ventilation like an external powered cooler or something and it should run for a longer time without issues. I run my setup in NUCs (24/7) and desktop workstations (on demand).
See but power efficiency is fine but in x86 architecture the power is performance and i am don’t know what get ur using i run my pc i9 with much bigger grapiccard and intel xenos processor as my server it also a towerbuilt only i am using 750 watt power and run serval drocker and vms i not getting any significant change electric bill and avlo current pathigana then why ur using self hosting😂😂
My servers spends a lot of time idling, one at 7watts, another at 12watts, another one at 24-27watts. Cheap 750 watt power supply may not be efficient but quality 300w SMPS could be efficient. Depends upon build quality without cost cutting. 😂 Saves a lot for me..
First of all, if you have an idea, you should not revel it to anyone until you make enough progress out of it. If you need any general discussion, you can email me anytime. I would revert back as I check it in the order it is received :)
dei.. yaara nee.. desktop ah eduthu server nu urutu ti irukka.. ditch the thoughts of setting up home server.. aws offers serverless lambda with 1 million free requests per month, which will take care of almost all uses for most of retail users.. and you can also rent aws ec2 1 gb amazon linux server for hardly 100 rs per month..
you can even host is for free (for beginner).. explore vercel if you are not comfortable with coding.. if comfortable with coding, then AWS gateway api and lambda. tech world is shifting towards serverless architecture and on demand servers..
As its always said, devil is in the details. You can show us all how to setup and host for free, here I have used a server with 8gb of ram to begin with and selfhosting gives me full control over the system. Serverless & serving on demand is trend but that doesn't mean that everyone should be using it. And the goal is not to be cheap here. Its about having control over the system.
@@NaveenResearchTamil there are 100s of YT videos demonstrating the same. search for vercel hosting or AWS ec2 instance creating. BTW what do you mean by full control? what control will you miss out in AWS/GCP? in aws too you can even start with 1 gb ram and scale upto 12 TB ram and scale down back to 1 gb ram all within the very same hour. if you are worried about the "CHINA" factor, you can get a server from AWS asia pacific region (mumbai or hyderabad). if you need a even more secure server, you can get one from aws govcloud, which is the most secure cloud server on the face of the earth.
