Thanks for sharing it with us. It is to bad that our children do not get financial education at school to start early with saving and investing their money in Apple instead they buy a iPhone.

Many 'mega millionaires' mix the income related aspects and the asset related aspect together. She was basically on building up assets that she turned that into income accumulation (which is correct according to me)... I think many people should just engage in building their asset column and learn more about financial freedom. The entitlement rate is becoming alarming in the while world and still growing in countries like the United State 😢. That's why my advice to 'super rich' families is to teach their children about the demerits of entitlement and thereby when they understand that, they do not soley depend on their family's wealth to build their asset and income protection... This was just my take on the Ted show

Very capitalistic view of the world... We have enough wealth in the world to all be happy but some poeple want to accumulate income or asset to feel secure and leave the rest of us stranding

This was a very informative and interesting talk. It makes me think about the importance of preserving value and income. Imagine all of the ways happiness can exist through assets that can be secured and important to peace of mind outside of material objects. Whether it's digital property like bitcoin or real estate property, a dream of happiness can come from value over time and grow like a tree rooted in everything we know and love. Financial freedom is essential to happiness.

Roots grow out, not down,…
@gaussdog
@gaussdog 10 месяцев назад
Up to about 70% of roots are in the top 1 foot. 90% in top 3 feet Trees in waterlogged or compacted soil, grow even more shallow
@bryanadams5370
@bryanadams5370 10 месяцев назад
If the tree is watered properly (frequently and close to the base), from the beginning, then the roots “learn” to grow down (chasing the water), before they grow out. Thus increasing the strength of the roots and providing a foundation for the tree to grow taller and faster while reducing the risk of being uprooted by an unexpected wind.

Mostly wrong. In UK we pay 40% income tax plus value added tax. I am left with about 30% of what I earn. I have no will to earn more. I have become lazy and lost interest. I am not alone.
@cellyell

If you can become lazy, you can become the opposite. It doesn’t make her wrong because you don’t feel determined. You literally say you have no will to earn more, doesn’t mean you can’t. You have great potential mate

You don’t have will to earn more, because of taxes? Or because 30% is enough?

My husband makes about 50k a year, and after paying all the bills, including health insurance, we're lucky we have about 60 dollars a week left for groceries. My husband had a medical emergency and had to go to the emergency room, and even though we have insurance, we got a 2,500 dollar bill for it. Not to mention the 30 dollar Co pay for each prescription. Then 50 dollar co pay to go see his GP to follow up. I feel like no ones getting by anymore no matter where they live.
