My girlfriend had 4 weeks worth of medical treatment early this year and the bill was over $450,000, I paid $750 which is 3/4 of what I make in 1 week. My grandmother had a similar amount of medical bills a few years back and didn't have to pay over $1,000 either. Memes aren't a good source of education on America's Healthcare and insurance system.

I always take hospital gowns and shove them in my purse when I go to the hospital since it's the least they can do since they're charging us thousands for the minimum amount of care

I mean it’s not a big deal you are just pulling a bullet out of someone, but that’s not an operating room or a doctors office.
He’s lucky because his bones stopped the bullet from penetrating through and getting his vital organs, you have a far less chance of dying from getting shot in the back rather than the front because the back has far more denser bones where as the front only has the rib cage as well as the weak af sternum.
After paying for one hospital visit I know of people who got gowns, socks, cleaning products, gloves, the pants, baggages, tongue sticks (forgot what is called), blankets, apple/grape juice/ granola, crackers, gram crackers etc. Makes that $1,000,000,000 hospital bill for a cough somewhat worth it after they told you to keep taking Robitussin and cough drops after the recommend timeframe.

you are stupid if you think doctors know every treatment for every set of symptoms by heart. Researching is part of the job, having a very good ground and knowing how to find the right information among other things is what they go to school for

I completely understand wanting to save the money and avoid the situations that come with bullet wounds in a doctor's office or hospital but at the same time is. It worth your life ?I aint. There's always the chance of sepsis bleeding out all kinds of crazy stuff. I mean I hope hes good but it's kind of stupid to not want to get real medical care over money. Especially when they don't really like force you to pay those bills most of the time.
As an American I would go grab the pliers and hand them to a family member after cleaning them. That would help me avoid hours sitting in the waiting room at a walk-in clinic or ER followed by a huge horrendous bill!

Ok first off, there is no indication he was shot multiple times. Secondly, the casing for the round is inside his skin, not the actual round. When a firearm is shot, it expels a casing as the round travels down range. Those casings can burn when they hit the skin. I agree - this should not be done in a regular non medical environment, but please don’t misinform people.

Half of the doctors in America don't even know what they are even doing half the time as America has more medical lawsuits then any other countries from doctors making medical mistakes causing more harm then good our medical sucks compared to England's medical.
Truth here. Many years ago I worked an ER. The pt was shot in the arse and had buckshot everywhere. They took him to surgery bc it was a long tedious task. If I remember correctly, they left some pellets in.

Even then once it gets infected that MAY be as simple as antibiotics. It's a bullet. It's actually a hollow point. I'm going to guess it was a ricochet. The doc says he was shot multiple times and I'm trying to imagine a scenario where you're dumb enough to get hit by multiple ricochets because a hollow point doesn't do this if you're shot by someone. They're designed to create more damage by the bullet deforming on impact instead of punching a clean path through tissue.
