Odisha was once amongst the poorest states of the country. It has always been marred with cyclones and natural disasters. Historically, it has always been either on the edge of empires or a buffer zone between prominent regions. Its development has always been ignored. During last 20 years, the story has reversed. Now the state is reviving hockey, hosting football world cup, attracting foreign investment and growing at a fast speed.
How did this transformation take place? Lets dive-deep and explore this.

Fun Fact:- When Biju Patnaik died, his coffin was wrapped in the national flags of India, Russia, and Indonesia. Getting Indian flag on coffin is highest honor one can get, He is only man in history of India got that honor by 3 different countries.

I'm from Odisha and there are much more problems in which the govt needs to take action like unemployment rate. Most of the youths are migrating to different states for making career and money and Some of the youths prefer to stay unemployed due to the freebies from the govt.
@Unknown10446
I'm from Odisha, and I can surely tell that we're underrated.

Odisha coastal region is almost developed. But western odisha is still remains underdeveloped. Also odisha's 20% population belong to tribal(adibasi) people it's difficult for government to get them developed. Bcz they are not ready to come out of poverty ❤❤❤❤
@CR-bi9ug

I am Marathi from Maharashtra originally and I have grown up in Odisha for four generations and we were born here and Odisha is so good, so good that it is not only praise but can you call it the pride of India. And the history of Sri Lanka is also from Odisha Kalinga Bang and moreover Sinhala language is similar to Odia Bengali and I know and have read Sinhala, it is completely similar to Odia.
@sushileib
Odia language is one of the six languages in India which got classical status for it's rich vocabulary and ancient.The other five languages are Sanskrit,Tamil, Telugu,Kannada and Malayalam.

When I was a teen ager 20 years back I have seen many people from our village used to go kolkata, surat, chennai etc. .
@heesworld4139
I’m odia from the UK. It’s true we really are underrated. I haven’t found a single person from Odisha in our Indian community near me. But that is fine because my family representing our beautiful state is enough for me- and we’re proud.
