That's because he is! 😅😅 He's a product of the Australian education system, which is among the best in the world.... and he's travelled extensively internationally, especially for someone so young. Seriously though, sure Giddey is 6'8" or 6'9".... but what makes him an elite player is his intelligence and ability to "play chess while everyone else is playing checkers" in terms of reading plays BEFORE they happen. You can see on the court just how fast his brain is calculating and making decisions, compared to other players.
Giddey suits the cowboy hat, but being Australian.... he definitely would have worn plenty of Akubra hats over the years. It's basically an iconic Australian "cowboy hat".
