I live in Manchester, New Hampshire, where Victorian/Edwardian cotton looms wove fabrics using the river water to power them until the steam engines took over. There was even a huge explosion at one of the mills.

The best factory to home is Val Kill, Eleanor Roosevelt's last house in Hyde Park. Originally built as a furniture factory, she converted it to a charming casual small house.

When I was in uni I lived in 2 different buildings that had been converted, the first was an old cotton mill, and the second was an old telephone directory place. In the 2nd place I stayed in I had a mezzanine/loft bedroom with living space downstairs, huge windows and my bed and wardrobes on the platform above. It was brilliant and I loved living my industrial design dream while studying architecture ❤ Wouldn't do it again though since it was REALLY COLD in winter, haha, but loved having my fairylights winding up my staircase and rugs, blankets and posters against the brickwork and timber floors looked fab

There is a building in my city called the Goggleworks. As it sounds, it used to be a factory for making safety goggles. It is now a space for art of all kinds. It has artist studios, vocal studios, a small movie theater, art gallery spaces, and rooms with barres and mirrors for ballet and other dance classes. It has some big empty rooms that can be used for choir rehearsals or events like wedding receptions. There is a lot of exposed piping and brick and lots of windows.

If you are ever in Lowell, Massachusetts, check out their historical sites ! They have a trolley that was a major mode of transport back in the day, and a HUGE Fiber Mill museum with running machines to really give you a sense of the noise of the Mills (the entire floor shakes!) Excellent educational exhibits throughout.

Thank you! I love your videos, Ariel! One thing i will say is that i actually still have and use some incandescent light bulbs including Edison bulbs that are incandescent. Just fyi..some of us still can't get on board with led lights.

Great explanation, this style does not fit the majority of the buildings which has not great windows and pipes and bricks exposition. I think It can be used more easily only mixing It with other Styles, as an accent
