That's fine, they are better on PC anyway, not to be all snoody or anything, just saying you can crank the graphics up higher and even do crazy high res texture packs. That and well, console commands. I am documenting a playthrough right now where I try to break the game as many times as I can by using cheats, most of the time using the jumping tank truck to go where I am not supposed to... or spawning 200 of them in a room during a cut scene. :)

Also how much of its service life was spent in 0 gravity so this would definatly alter what we perceive to be airframe attrition. Take aircraft for example, they are done on airframe hours and this is ,easy red off the engine operating hours so in theory the Callender age isn't as much for concern as total time in service. Assuming the relevant inspections inspections are dome and adhered to. Not sure if they would be running an engine hour meter or odometer either. Opens a huge can of worms now doesn't it😂

The Spruce Goose looks great, is well cared for, and might actually fly. But no one in their right mind would. There are lots of examples of well cared for cars that survived well past their design life. But for every one of those there are 1000 that did not. Same for aircraft. I’m not sure it would matter being in vacuum or not. That same environment has high and low temperature fluctuations that would stress the metals over time. And that’s where the problem is: Temperature change. Metal fatigue can’t be escaped. And even in microgravity maneuvering stresses would still cause metal fatigue.

The average service life of passenger airliners is 30years, I’m sure most of these could be flown by smuggler for a good number of years after the airlines are done with them. That said it all comes down to how long it was designed to last. Technology has been advancing rapidly in the real world so designing for an airplane for a century of service life doesn’t make a lot of sense. The Star Wars universe seems to have reached a period technological stagnation so designing a craft that will be serviceable for centuries makes sense.

Really? When there are intercontinental ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, stealth bombers, modern fighters which can knock out ground targets with pinpoint accuracy they need a 1950's relic from the time of intercontinental range strategic bombers? There's always going to be inherent risks with that. Not even civil airlines which check their aircraft meticulously use frames older than 30 years. Thats half the problem. All that hi-tek stuff like ICBMs and stealths you mentioned were designed to fight a large state. Actually from all books about Han Solo and lando calrissian either of them must have been in possession of the ship for quite a while.

I cannot find a time when Han won the Falcon from Lando...All we can determine is he met up with Lando and had a match with him, where Han won the Falcon. The Legends says 2 or 3 years... However, it appears it isnt canon anymore. Someone has told me Han claimed to have owned it 5 years in ESB, though I cannot find it to confirm this. Since we do have some back stories that are canon, we know a few things... 1.) Han has known Lando for many years, 2.)In ESB, Lando hasnt seen Han in a very long time, we know this because Han suggests that Lando could help them if he still owned Cloud City. 3.) Lando suggests in ESB he hasnt seen Falcon in a very long time. 4.> Han Solo and the Falcon are well known in the galaxy even to a point of being legendary. Since Jabba wouldnt simply allow Han to do smuggling without some experience and even a name for himself (Also Jabba had given Han some leeway in paying him which means Han had some standing with Jabba), we must assume Han been doing this for a long time. We do know that Han did smuggle well before wining the ship though, however even the ship is legendary and connected to Han. If I had a guess, Id say based on way people became famous (In the Universe), it took Han and his ship 4 to 5 years. 3 at the least, 10 at the most. NOTE: It has been confirmed we shall see Han win the ship from Lando in the 2018 movie of himself.

He won it from Lando in a game of saabac not long after he went on the run from the empire . He was around 22 or 23 when he entered officer school and a short while later is when he was assigned to a ship transporting wookie slaves and seen the abuse the empire was doing so he freed the wookies . He was about 33 in a new hope therefore he owned the falcon for aroun 10 or 11 years during a new hope .

12 parsec is 370 288 941 504 138 kilometer so basicly 370 billion km. You will be dead by the time you have done less then half the distance imo..... mayby they used hyperdrive? but isn't that cheating?

Payload capacity and towing/hauling capacity are 2 different things. A truck might be able to carry 2000lbs, but tow 10000lbs.

Thing is, in space, weight is essentially meaningless. Without petty nuisances, such as gravity and friction in the form of air resistance (not much resistance when it averages about 1 atom per cubic centimeter, and keep in mind that air at sea level has about 40 billion BILLION atoms in a cubic centimeter), you would move pretty good, and even coast for a while if you didn't enter hyperspace, without losing any significant amount of momentum. Entering a planet's atmosphere is another matter entirely, but I would imagine most freighters with a humongous cargo container smack dab in the front would dock with either an orbital station or larger vessel, or even detach it so another ship, one more suitable for atmospheric flying with cargo, could dock with it. That 100 metric tonnes of cargo is likely what it's cleared to haul in-atmosphere..

kefkamadman weight IS important in space. If you try to push 100 tons of cargo with a fireworks rocket it will get up to speed. But it will take a looooong time.

pushing an object in space wouldn't be that hard as long as X can produce greater inertia than Y. In space this can be achieved easy and you don't necessarily need a large ship but it makes sense why the YT series had over powering engines for its size. It would also make sense to having a YT ship on the other end of the cargo storage units facing in on the cargo so the cargo can be controlled to stop.

Pushing cargo containers goes a long way toward explaining the side mounted cockpit too.

Eh, it's a major event with far reaching consequences. But these kinds of things are kinda arbitrary. We use a calendar based on the year a religious figure who may or may not have even existed was supposed to have been born, yet the years don't align to any specific dates in relation to that event. Considering in the modern world we aren't all that religious anymore, and it's a figure only really of meaning to one religion, yet the calendar in question is used worldwide, even in places where that specific religion had little to no influence, it's safe to say that reference dates for calendars are ultimately always pretty arbitrary. Me? I came up with some arbitrary calendars of my own based around different principles to the solar year, and having nothing better to do, referenced it to the mayan calendar's supposed 2012 date. (sometimes regarded as the 'end of the world', but otherwise seems to have been referencing the 'galactic year - the time it takes for our solar system to do a single orbit around the galactic centre.)

Push Back All they had to do was try. They had unlimited budget and access to all the most talented people in the world. They could have hired _anyone_ they wanted. They had one of the most engaged and dedicated fan-bases, built in. They had a universe that makes great storytelling easy. They had literally everything on their side. Carrie Fisher had really nothing to do other than to stand around and look concerned. Han Solo, you know, the guy that helped blow up the first Death Star and also brought down an entire empire wound up smuggling characters that escaped from a Goosebumps book.

Light Concussion missiles were standard for removing space debris...they could not break a particle shield but could blast small pirate craft. Pushing Cargo? thats odd since the main loading ramp and access area were RIGHT INSIDE THE MANDIBLE AREA!!!! The mandibles housed antigrav field projectors and all sorts of sensors for loading unloading and scanning cargo... They were manufactured stock....STOCK with a dorsal and ventral twin repeater blaster cannon. Most freighters had some sort of defense weaponry... I am sorry but maybe you need to read up on star wars some...Oh wait...yeah thats right Disney changed it...it no longer makes any sense...
