Square Enix is facing serious financial troubles, with their stock plummeting by over 60%, marking their biggest drop in 13 years. The company is predicting a significant decline in operating income, from ¥57 billion down to ¥40 billion this financial year. Under new President Takashi Kiryu, drastic measures are being taken, including project cancellations worth $140 million and widespread layoffs in Europe and the US.
Despite these challenges, Final Fantasy XIV continues to thrive, providing much-needed stability and revenue. As Square Enix navigates through this turbulent period, FFXIV stands out as a beacon of success.
We hope the PC versions of Final Fantasy XVI and VII Rebirth are released soon, so that more people can experience the magic these games have to offer.
In the meantime, FFXIV offers over 1,000 hours of content with its free trial, and the highly anticipated new expansion, Dawntrail, is on the way. Additionally, the much-discussed graphics upgrade is coming soon, with the promise of ongoing support from its developers for many years to come.
Will it be enough?
