The structure of professional Padel tournaments at the moment (and it’s history). It’s difficult to follow everything and it’s different from other sports.
About the money in padel (sponsors and prize money). How it have been developing over the years, what is the current situation and how the future looks like.
Very interesting! And impressive of course. But let’s keep in mind Padel is barely a mainstream sport now, and it was almost only an Argentinian sport in the nineties, that started to be popular in Spain after 2000; so “world title” when there were hardly any Padel courts outside of Spain or Argentina is quite bombastic 😂
It's the same on most sports, the competition is between very few leading teams. Just take Football, the biggest sport in the world, it has only 5 or 6 countries competing for the world cup, all the other countries are there just to fill the groups. Padel is considerably more popular today, but still only Argentina and Spain compete for the trophy, more and more countries are being added, but that wont change any time soon as with other massive sports.
nice video, but I really dont think he changed or added that much to the sport. Yes he was no. 1 during many years, but his striking personality, or style of play were not the reasons that padel grew, in fact, the lack of these are possibly the reasons why it has taken so long to grow. I compare him to alex higgins, in style of play... there is no comparison, also personality..... nothing there in comparison. Tiger woods perhaps brought golf to new levels and to more people, maybe... but Bela, did none of these. So, although yes he is a legend, I dont think he brought this sport any further than it would have been... and as I said, possibly the reverse...
You probably started to watch Padel recently, they had to change literally the rules of the sport, the racquets, balls, and courts because nobody could beat him. The sport literally changed drastically because of him (And JMD).
