One of my all time life-mottos has come from the Orks' perspective of war: _"If we win, it's cuz we da best! If we lose, we lost fightin' so dat don't count! If we have to retreat, thas' okay it means we can try again later!"_ If you succeed, take pride in your accomplishments. If you fail, it's only a failure if you didn't try at all. And if you have to put something down for a bit, don't fret because you can always come back to it when time allows.

I would pay anything to see JRR Tolkien’s reaction to Orks, such as Grizgutz who traveled back in time to get two of his favorite gun, Tuska Daemon Killa who is feared by every daemon in existence and is constantly revived by Khorne himself, or the twin ork Gods themselves Gork and Mork who literally WWE each other across the immaterium for over 60 million years and beat up other gods regularly all because it’s fun. Because when he created orcs, I think he never expected this to happen.

You mentioned ghazghkull and yarric's little rivalry, well there's been a development on that. Yarric has been killed by Angron, and Ghaz is not happy his best fighting buddy got axed. Ghazghkull is mobilizing orks all across the galaxy to find Angron, even stopping imperial ships to ASK where the fallen primarch could be, orks never did that before, talking to people without a fight. This is probably the first time there's been an ork WAAAGH formed not out of the love of battle, but actual hatred.

I saw a fan video where Ghaz assembled all the Orks together and promised whoever can get any information on that Angron Git who krumped Old Bale Eye will get his own his own fleet to command. Then Orks start crashing into imperial ships to politely ask if they know where Angron is. 😂 Now I want to get an Angron model, and a Ghazghkull model, just to see this fight go down!

My two favorite factions in WH40K is Orks and the followers of Nurgle simply cause they are happy and content with their place in life. Followers of Nurgle maybe horror monsters made of rotting flesh and smell like 40 years old toe fungus, but they don't care! They follow Nurgle cause he is their granddad, and everyone of his followers are happy(Minus Morty but ssssssssh). WAAAGH! Also, I'd describe Ork aesthetics as more Scrapyard Scavengerpunk/Apunkalypse than Dieselpunk. There's a bit of Dieselpunk mixed in but it's mainly in the form of rat rod influences, not the more mainstream "art deco" style of dieselpunk. Also, making Ork OCs isn't cringe in the slightest.

Watching this reminded me of when I used to like fanfiction, because people expressed their love for something and tried anything in those works. Maybe one day they made something of their own in some way but their love for their work came from what they loved as a whole. It's not completely 1:1 with how it can be applied for something like work but it makes people happy... something many of us should remember what it felt like; to simply be happy with who we are and know some peace in that fact.

As someone who loves 40k, i have to say this is amazing, because the orks really are the happiest beings in the galaxy. Additinally it makes me less crazy when i start to relate to the more wholesome and healthy (im not crazy enough for the whole thing) philosophies of my chosen army, tbe death guard. What uve learned from them is there is no shame in failure, or not doing something whent he alternative is pain. You dont need to always fight, sometime swimming upstream just leaves you tired. And although they are undoibtedly abhorant mosnters, their care and twisted sense of beauty, outlooks on life and death, and a resigned yet not fully negative take on the finality of life has allowed me to not be as much the stressed high strung maniac who would burst a vein at mild inconveniences i used to be

Orks are the best coach for speaking things in to existence and manifesting them. My favorite is always them being tanks and winning a battle thinking they were tanks. Their magic is nuts!! I know basics on 40k lore (it;'s A LOT and I don't think i could absorb it all) and they, by far are the most fun for me (Followed by Nurggle)

Haha this was honestly kinda helpfull. I've come to realize for a while now that my struggles in life is mainly because I've been holding myself back out of major fear and anxiety. I wasted time helping others instead of helping myself because I thought I was helpless but I wanted to see others get better. I've got rid of all the co-dependant friendships and toxic abusive friendships I used to have and focused on my own life and I have made some great progress. But the last bit I have to unlearn is to stop doubting myself so much and to use my anxiety as a coping mechanism/crutch, it's gonna take a long time to get rid of that crap. I've gone to programs for social anxiety last year and I finished a program for GAD(general anxiety disorder) right now.

There was a story I encountered years ago about this very topic. An imperial adept at the bottom of the heap in a research lab is put to monitoring a captured Ork warboss. He talks to the ork and confides in him, and the ork shruggs and offers advice. "Yuz just gotta stomp em!" The adept realises that his own timidity is holding him back, and he proceeds to follow his dream of becoming a space pirate 😂

He decided he could use his talents with knowing the value of things to be the best pirate there ever was. He got a mane of hair squigs on his head and his face, inspired by zodgrot wortsnagga. He uses his favorite power hook. That's right, it's a custom power claw in the shape of a pirate hook hand but way bigger and orkier. He also uses a custom power cutlass and his favorite snaz gun that looks like an orky black powder pistol. He has a free booter outfit that he customized himself to be as flashy as a bad moons outfit so his ladz could tell for sure he was the cap'n. He's the only ork known to pronounce the R in WAAAGH! making it sound like a deep guttural pirate WARRRGH! Although most who frequent the trade lanes see free booters as no more than pests raiding their supply lines whenever they hear the name cap'n squig beard their blood runs cold because odds are they'd be lucky to escape with their lives because they aren't going anywhere with their loot because all loot on the trade lanes belongs to cap'n squig beard. With his own commandeered space hulk, the void leviathan he wreaks havoc on the trade lanes. His ladz love him because he knows where to find the best of fights and the best loot to make new things with.

A specialised elite assault war band who are known to come out in a flash and boom as they raid humie fortifications through diggas which are often launched from space as they tend to be boarding parties in void battles.

I knew it the orkz are the thriving race because they are not confined by made up rules that other races put on their own kind specially the imperium. Orkz don't deal in absolutes, even the biggest ork ghazghull can be challenge for his position. They evolve by doing stuff, not overthinking things "just try again" .

The idea of everyone needing to be a 'leader' is so incredibly pervasive. I'm 30 and I work as a bartender. Done it for almost 4 years now. There have been multiple opening for supervisor or manager positions, and I've avoided them like the plague. I've had so many coworkers tell me I'd be good at it, that it's better money, it's just a vaguely "better job", and all I can think is "I cannot imagine a worse hell for myself than being put in charge." I like following instructions, I'm very good at it, and at the end of my shift, I get to leave any of my work stress at the door. Whereas every manager I've met in my job has carried that stress with them everywhere they go

Had to share this with my mental health group. Some of them ask why I sit there laughing my butt of when my plans blow up. Orks taught me that. Ok that didn't work. Let's try another way. To be honest, I've considered Gaijin Goombah to be separate from the Game Theorists in my opinion, but that's just me. GT I left them around 2015/2016 when they hit a million subscribers or got to 5 million at that timepoint. So I completely left them in the dust. Since then I haven't bothered to sub to them in half a decade or more.

this stuff gets rough, cause sometimes the things that make you happy just actually have no way you can realistically make it a job and risk taking wont help that. In this way I have been trying for sometime to get rid of the idea of needing success or a career but it is hard when everything we were taught growing up makes it feel like your life is wasted and worthless if you do not have those kind of things. But little creative projects I do make me happy, idk, it is hard not to lose hope sometimes

I love your 40k videos, and I don't even play. The lore behind the boyz are always so fascinating. The fact that there is this group of perfectly content and happy race in this wartorn galaxy with a philosophy that is so darn simple but needed in todays world. I really appriciate it because it gives me some things to think about as I'm between teaching jobs. Semi-unrelated to the awesomeness that is the Orks... what is a good game or way to get started in 40k (specifically with the Orks. They are my favorite too)?

Good question. Depends on what you like in terms of games. I'm not well-versed in RTS games, but Dawn of War 1 and 2 had some celebrated Ork campaigns, if i'm not mistaken. There's Dakka Squadron, a kind of flight/air combat simulator, and the relatively recent Shootas, Blood 'n Teef, which is a 2D shoot-em-up in the vein of Metal Slug or Guns, Gore and Cannoli. Has the most cartoonish art style seen in a Warhammer game thus far, to my knowledge. And finally, i'd mention Warhammer 40.000: Space Marine. You don't play as an Ork, but you do fight against Orks. A *lot* of Orks, the green tide coming right at you. Ork forces sadly lessen in the third half of the game though, but i'm mentioning it because they provide challenging and fun enemies.

Even though I know NOTHING about Warhammer 40K, I gotta say this is one of your best videos. I'm trying to teach myself how to draw, but when I draw anything, I think "this sucks" and I lose motivation. But that "fail faster" idea really spoke to me.

Much love man, this video is coming in at a time for me in particular where I needed to hear some of this stuff myself. The whole "Not doing what doesn't come naturally" bit is something that I've found I've stumbled into in my life, and it's both a blessing and a curse. I'm gonna have to read more into those philosophies and whatnot because if I could actually get that to work in my life I think I'd be SO much happier.
