He wasn't being rude at all and what he said actually has some merit... No need to get so defensive. It's great that we can have different perspectives in society as long as we all respect each other.

These are just the positive things though. Algorithmics categorises us and put us into different groups. Not just what we do gets controlled, even our thinking gets controlled. Nearly no valuable point made here, all this could have been made from your desktop PC. Yes there are benefits of having a Smart phone (navigation Apps, car sharing etc.), but the cons are way worse, for example the biggest one: beeing trackable over GPS all the fucking Time. You giving up essential parts of your personal freedom for convenience. Some of my smartphone using friends, can´t live in the Moment.
