The candy icons on the top left of the screen are how many candies you have for that specific pokemon. You obtain candies by playing with Pokémon, or hatching Pokémon. You can get more depending on how far you actually get into classic mode, as endless usually doesn’t award too well in candies as there’s no gym leaders or rivals. You can spend candies on 3 things. One being, unlocking passive abilities. For example, let’s say you use charmander for 5 games and you get 50 candies. If his passive ability (beast boost) costs 50, you would have 0 left as they don’t save. Secondly, you can use them to lower the cost of use, so if charmander usually costs 3 slot points to put on your team, if you were to spend 50 candies (ex:) then his cost would go down to 2. Lastly, you can spend them on purchasing extra eggs for specific pokemon. Let’s say you want to try your luck at a shiny charmander, a charmander with a better nature, or a charmander with an egg move then you could spend 50 candies (ex:) to get like 10 charmander eggs.

Latios is better, more speed and more damage, if you got latios, use that
