How Palworld Dethroned Pokémon 

Pokémon is the definition of comfortable, they made history so long ago that they don’t need to keep their level of quality anymore. Sad cuz that’s most routes games go nowadays, might have to make a game myself to put more peak in the market lol

Exactly why the game is as popular as it is. And unlike craftopia (their previous game), I don’t think they’d drop this project considering how large it got. Here’s to hoping it gets goty 🙌

@@Wisdomv3 Craftopia ended up being spaghetti, and they would need to untangle it to fix it. Effort better spent on this game instead.

The premise of monster catching is pretty similar - granted it’s not a turn based game but the points of current Pokémon games being pretty stale in comparison to what other indie games like this (and coromon, cassette beasts, etc) is doing still stands

thanks for the comment - imo pokemon in newer games feel more lifeless compared to their sprite based counterparts (b/w had an amazing art direction that made pokemon not only feel alive but stylized with great pixel art) - they lose a lot of the charm that came with pokemon's art style. Look at how long they took JUST to add typhlosion's fire spikes on his neck, something they already achieved more than a decade ago. There's been progress (especially with legends and certain battle gimmicks like terastallizing), but it's at a snail's pace compared to what it could be

And even though they interact with you, it's usually them cycling through their pre-existing battle animations (which isn't a problem, I don't expect them to make new animations for everything, but when all they do is run around you and use their battle animations in the field, it gets boring quickly).

@Wisdomv3 You make a lot of good and fair points Like stuff like Typhlosion could've had the flames adjusted earlier I do understand, since going from 2d to proper 3d that they were testing how things would be Since Ty has its flames out during battle they only had it out during attacks, could've been sorted the Gen after, but it wasn't sadly I suppose with the animations they did have some separate ones in Amie/Refresh/Camp that weren't in battle(like Toucannon flapping it's wings up and down when happy or Lilligant putting her arms to her face when upset) I honestly do love the older games for the brighter colours and simple, but unique sprite work, they'll always be my favs At the end of the day, pokemon could be better with certain aspects that they were good with before, 100% they could, I won't deny they've been not great, but with how they've been with adding older things and new things as of Legends to Gen 9, I am seeing nice progress I do hope certain things to keep up/get better I suppose I'm just very low with expectations for most things, so I usually would've get too upset with stuff😆

that's exactly the problem; pokemon is too concerned with making a quick buck off of mediocre games to keep up with their release timings as opposed to making a quality game and giving it time to cook. With fans literally clamoring for good games again, i'd make a fair assumption that they'd wait an extra year or two before a new entry comes out if that meant gamefreak optimized their games and give it quality it badly needs. They HAVE and USED to do this in the past while still maintaining a strong media presence (hgss, b/w, oras), it's a matter of them not caring anymore. They started out as a trading card company (iirc) and shifted to gaming, they could maintain their merchandising model while still making good games
