How Papago Park used to be a WWII prisoner of war camp

Wow literally down the street from my hood….

I went to Phoenix, AZ in 2000. Was introduced to Papago Park by a guy who had lived there his whole life at the time. Loved it!! Went back up to Virginia and found out later that year on The History Channel that the park was used as a POW camp for Germans. WOW!

How do people not know this???
