Olympic gold can be a powerful force for a boxer, but not for Park Si-hun. The 1988 Olympic champion is still trying to make up for a medal he won at the expense of the USA’s Roy Jones Jr..

That's actually the point. The gold medal ruined him because he didn't earn it and everyone knew it. @@vikrantsood2053 do you think that they cheered right after the man picked Ray Jones up off the ground in order to display with that he thought Roy Jones won and that he lost? I don't know because I wasn't even around back then. But you say that the entire crowd was cheering but someone else is saying they were doing the opposite. Now I have to go watch the decision and the reaction one more time and pay more attention. Roy Jones has been a record from the very very beginning of this travesty, by saying that the opponent recognized Roy Jones jr. As the winner within the ring and when they were in their locker rooms. I want you to flip the script. If the very exact same thing happened with in the USA, do you think the crowd would not be cheering for the American who got the decision? I mean absolutely one hundred percent flip the script! Please tell me do you believe that the American crowd would not cheer if an American just won the gold medal according to judges? I'm like everybody else that's probably seen this video and absolutely believe that Roy Jones jr. Got robbed. I do not know what happened at that moment they Rose the hand of the Korean. I definitely need to go back and actually watch that part of the video. I ask you one more time if you believe that if it had been a flip of the script, do you believe Americans would had booed the decision or would have cheered and American even if they knew he didn't really win? I have to go back and check this out because you have me curious as a youngin here. Never one person say that Roy Jones did not win the fight. Right now I plan to stop this and go watch the raising of the hands and then also listen to the crowd. I'm going to come back and I'm going to tell you exactly what I hear and see upon the raising of the hands and the crowd cheering at what point. So we got one person that says they were there and if the crowd was silent at the reason of the hand. Then there's you who says that the crowd was cheering. The only way for me to figure this out is to go back and watch the end of the fight. I'll definitely come back and tell you you're right or you're wrong. Not trying to be all combative and controversial but I got to actually see something as a young buck before I believe it when I got two different people making comments that are opposite

Don't forger Rocky Juarez in 2000 where the Russian referee let Bekzat literally clinch the entire fourth round with no warning or points awarded to Rocky.

I thought of Dhalsim's ending in Street Fighter 2 when I heard about Park Si-Hun's life after the gold medal. "That was your teacher...in a past life."

The judges dishonored themselves and brought embarrassment and shame to Park Si-hun. I also remember a women's taekwondo match that had a suspicious result at the Seoul Olympics. If I remember correctly it was an American girl against a Korean girl.

He should have just agreed to do an informal televised ceremony and press conference with Roy Jones where he traded his gold medal for Roy's silver, and publicly stated that Roy Jones was the winner, and that it doesn't matter what 3 corrupt judges believe, and to also thank the other two judges for getting the correct decision.

Jones was getting battered with flurries of blows from the judges. The bout was lost before even stepping in the ring. Whoever placed bets on park for the V, racked up on some serious 💰

Picking Roy up after the fight and raising Roy's hands at the ceremony is cool and all, but taking off the Gold medal and putting it around Jone's neck would have been a greater gesture.

The IOC should give Roy a gold medal before it’s too late! Egregious robbery that took something away from both fighters.

One of the worst robberies in the history of boxing (which is saying alot). Park knew he lost, but the decision wasn't his fault at all. He was an unwitting pawn and was probably just as surprised as everyone else.

Thanks for posting this. In the heat of the scandal, Si-hun kind of gets forgotten. He was a legitimate silver medalist in a weight class that Asian fighters typically didn't compete in. It's too bad that he is only remembered for being "The guy who Roy was robbed against".
