I don't understand why almost everybody is hating on Doku. It's still his first season at City. Most City players struggled in their first season at City under Pep. A player like Rodri struggled so much that people including the media were questioning Pep on why he had to buy him. Rodri was making back to back mistakes especially in big games. Look at him now. Bernardo silva struggled as well. Same case with Mahrez and the list goes on and on. Cut Doku some slack. Yes, he seems to struggle against teams that play a low-block system but remember, it's not always that City will come up against low-block teams especially in the CL. Last season, when City faced Bayern in the CL, Bayern had more possession and City decided to play a more counter-attacking game. In games like those, Doku will come in handy with his pace as he works on his game against low-block teams.
The haters dont watch the game. Almost every time he plays he never gets 1 on 1 opportunities but 2 or even 3 defenders pressing him! He is also very young and a he matures he will learn more than just being able to take a player on! Hes simply raw talent right now
He ain't struggling idk what struggle y'all are seeing, bro dribbles past most ppl easily and creates good chances He is doing better than grealish this season But if you compare to gealish last season no comp but this on doku is better
Doku just makes terrible decisions. Shoot from impossible angles. Pass when he is open in dangerous positions. Not sure that is something that can be taught.
It was so embarassing to see united so dominated, like a city were playing against a 3rd division team or children. No threat at all. Great opening goal though.
What do people expect when a team missing several important players plays the best team in europe who have a full strength team and 12 players on the pitch
@@Azure.-. Our best left back missing Our backup left back missing Our best center back missing Our first choice backup cb missing Our best striker... no, scratch that. Our ONLY striker missing. And because our only striker is missing we have to play our best midfielder out of position So we end up with a fourth choice cb in defense Our 5th choice cb playing at lb Two teenagers in the lineup And people somehow expected us to go toe to toe with city?
Nothing to sink in, that's just lazy analysis \- Only Sheffield United (447), West Ham (434) and Luton Town (428) have faced more shots than Man Utd (417) in the Premier League this season. \- United have faced at least eight shots in every league game this season and have faced at least 16 shots in more than half of their games (14). By comparison, Arsenal have not faced more than 15 shots in a single league game this season. \- Despite that, **eight Premier League teams have allowed their opponents a higher xG total (xG against) than United’s 43.3, while another eight have faced more shots on target than their 132.** \- On top of that, **Ten Hag’s side actually have the sixth-best defensive record in the Premier League this season, having conceded 36 goals.** \- **Only four teams have faced fewer big chances (a chance from which the attacking player would be expected to score) than United’s 53.** What is going on, then? \- Injuries haven’t helped, particularly in defensive positions, where team selection has had to be inconsistent. Lisandro Martínez has only made 10 appearances in all competitions, Luke Shaw has made just 15, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has made 17, while Casemiro - who made such a difference to United’s midfield last season - has only recently returned and has played in just 19 of their 37 games in all competitions. \- Part of that is down to goalkeeper André Onana, who come in for some criticism in his first season in England, but in the Premier League in particular he is in some sense showing his worth. \- **Only five goalkeepers have made more saves than his 93, while he’s outperformed his expected goals on target (xGOT) conceded so far,** conceding 35 goals from 38.5 xGOT (he’s also conceded one own goal, which doesn’t count towards xGOT totals), suggesting he has ‘prevented’ 3.5 goals with his saves. \- United might be conceding more shots per game than a lot of teams, but the quality of those chances is also comparably low. **Only Everton (0.098 xG) and Arsenal (0.084 xG) have been facing lower-quality chances - measured in terms of xG per shot faced - than United (0.103 xG).** \- It appears they are limiting the opposition to low-quality chances, but that doesn’t mean just restricting them to long-range efforts. **The average distance of shots faced by United in the Premier League this season is 16.6 metres, the same as Man City, and closer to goal than seven other teams (including Arsenal - 18.2m, and Everton - 16.9m).** \- They are instead restricting their opponents to difficult chances from tight angles and with lots of defenders in the way. **Only three teams have conceded more headed shots - which will have a lower xG value as they are more difficult to score - than United (64).** \- The perfect example of United’s resilience was the trip to rivals Liverpool back in December. despite facing 34 shots (10 more than United have faced in any other game this season). The hosts’ xG amounted to 2.38 (0.07 xG per shot). It was the most shots by any team in a Premier League game without scoring in more than seven years.
KdB was poor today, and doku omg that boy needs to learn variations. His stop/start let's all the players back in position, considering everybody low blocks city
My problem with his game today was that he seemed a bit too selfish trying long shots that were way off target when other players in the box were expecting a cross.
Despite not scoring he still received a 8 rating when he created 6 chances and one big chances but I must agree today he was totally off the passes the shots 😢
@@LOOPS581 creating chances for KDB is second nature, but you gotta remember these stats are very odd. A very hard pass in the box would be considered a chance created. Tbh I'm more pissed at doku, he played shit today. Ruined alot of opportunities by holding onto the ball
@@notoriousarry7052 yeaa but Grealish because he's slow he doesn't lose his own footing as much. Bro the amount of times I've seen doku trip/slip and his legs keep spinning 🤣
Stones, Rodri and Silva are the heart of this increasingly direct City team, controlling the tempo and slowing things down when needed. City was playing too fast in the opening 20mins and it almost costed them the game with Utd creating huge chances from the ping-ponging. Silva pleaded with his team to slow down and they slowly smothered Utd.
Nice vid - one thing was clear when Doku went off for Julian Alvarez, Spiderman was immense in providing quick switch of play centrally and pressing to put Rags under prerssure. Foden deserves all the credit for his killer instinct but Spiderman deserves more flowers for his performance off the bench, he played similarly to Gundo off the bench in creating space and the assist was perfectly executed with his turn and touch.
Despite what rivals might say man city are a force to be reckon with maybe the only team in Europe so far that provides total football at its finest, high pressing, high possession, dynamic positioning...what a team !🔥
With reference to certain previous games i have seen a pattern what City does often. Baiting Utd. Make them to make a move and run towards the opponents half dismantle the compact structure and then capitalise on a misspass error/ retrieve possession move the ball forward efficient wingers on either end and even if haland fails there's rodri debruyne around to make an assist and then there's Bernardo . Goals! Are inevitable anyone can score a goal from citys end that's how it is. Its sad but gotta accept that UTD needs more than tactics. Mentality matters too i dont see that in them these days. it was more like a defenders gameplay.
I need a BIG preview of our match against City this weekend. Tactically City have evolved so much these last few weeks with their triple No 10 system and I'd like to see more on that
Luton game was very interesting Pep moving away from fixed position taking inspiration from Deniz. Pep is mast of evolving year on year. Foden gettting free roll might come sooner than expected. With his comments I think Pep is ready to trust him now.
Prediction for Manchester United rest of the season, scraping an uncomfortable 1-0 against winless in 2024 Everton to then lose convincingly (with zero shots on target) 2-0 to Liverpool in the FA Cup. And that's the season done for Manchester United, won't even get close to Top 4 or Europa League spots for that matter.
UTD play was to block the the center, but failed to adjust to Stones positioning. City pinned them into their final third for most of the 2nd half. Rashford, good goal. Good analysis
Against liverpool match, foden should move to dokus place. Bernardo on right wing. And kovacic de bruyne rodri mid field would be far better team. This doku guy is not city material. Oscar bobb should be given more chances.
@@theonefamily3786 sure he has quality. But you have to understand city is not Southampton. Oscar bobb also deserves time to improve. Doku has got enough time, now oscar should be ahead of him for opportunities. This is also a phase when there is little room for experiments. Every match is like final.
@@wahidj4773 what a stupid comment. Nearly all City players struggled in their first season under Pep. A player like Rodri was aweful during his first season with crucial mistakes against big teams. Look at him now. Give Doku time and stop thinking you know football tactics better than Pep.
@@thuo1000R u dokus agent or something? Im a fan, i can express my thoughts. I know which players are good and which are bad. I wasnt happy when city were signing him. Knew he is very limited. Hes just another sterling, at least sterling had pace and could press.
Against Liverpool would take off Doku and bring in Kovacic instead. Wing attacks will be limited but at least the mid field will be more effective. City should be 100% savvy on ball control and nullify Liverpool's press or win second balls quickly.
United's first half was alright, but it's disheartening to ponder the missed opportunity had Rashford displayed better control around the 17th minute. The contrast between the two squads is stark, and it's disappointing to see that ETH has yet to make any noticeable progress. I think Man City isn’t as strong as last season. Unfortunately, this United is even worse.
3 is a bit harsh. ETH found a way to be more fluid with Bruno false 9 mctominay shadow striker. He doesn't have the same resources to compete and if they did go 2 up with chances they had could've changed the whole game and outcome
the second half decided the game, Pep made good changes. Ten hag had a disaster class of changes. i don't what game was he watching in the first half. city goals were because of change of dynamic chemistry within united defense that opened spaces for foden who was a predator the whole game. the first goal though was a split second mistake from lindelof didnt react quick enough and foden shot a rocket in the space he opened.
Where are pep haters saying he is "paycheck manager"😂 look at chelsea man united bayern just spending is not going to win anything tactics and gameplan... matters. Pep deserves his credit thats all i am saying fellow football fans😊
City dominated the whole game and it was another masterclass The only difference between the two halves was that the first one United was able twice to get good counter attacks while the second one, city didn't even let to have a single one
Shame on you. You called yourself "Football made simple" and try to analyze Erik Ten Hag tactic. The simple answer is no tactic, no pattern. That is all. No more, no less.
Actually United played vert well yesterday and City had to improvise. But after that it was not very difficult and was some performance by Foden and City broke them down 😮. Andd thats why They are the best team in the World 😮. But they will to prove even more in the Champios League 😮😅
We won yes , but those counters really frighten me....we are leaving alot of spaces at the back. If we get a proper proper team, we are going to suffer
I definitely agree with you on that 👍 He just moves back with the ball every time and that is tantalising every other player who is actually looking to get a pass and hit the net I really want Jack back 😢 ❤
First goal: Rashford dives Second goal : City out play united Third goal: united fail to plsy out from the back and Haaland scores.... Where did the ref help city??
What are you talking about? If Sterling was able to fit City's style, so does Doku. Cut the guy some slack, it's still his first season at City. Also, it's not always that City will play a high possession-based game. As we saw last season, in games against Bayern in the CL, City would also look to play counter-attacking football, and this is where Doku will come in handy with his pace as he works on improving his game against low-block teams.
True but Pep is evolving the team style. Savio incoming Foden moving central. Notice all summer linked players were all ball carriers. This is to Deal with rise of man to man pressing. Teams are trying playing like Pep so Pep is signing players to counter his system basically. More direct play and versatility of squad and tactical fluidity is levels above anyway.
@@mikoajlewczyk633but the overall gameplan still the same. I mean Ten Hag got to change the gameplan immediately. What's even worse is NO ONE marking John Stones throughout the 2nd half
@@johnlau6749 but please tell me, what else was he meant to do with lindelof and Evans? Press Man City and Play through the linea? The gameplan was necessary, the defence and midfield did what they could, its the attacers, not creating one attack in the second half that let ten Hag down
Every Utd fans knew city were gonna win it but it was about pride . 11 V 12 . Ref was a joke for not giving obvious foul on Rashford that ended up foden scoring and then at the end ref contradicts himself by giving the same foul on Dalot. Ederson tackle on Garnacho was a foul also City end up scoring after that decision. Yeah City dominated us in second half but the way we played got us the win last season at home, heck arsenal played the same way and won. This Loss would be easy to take if Ref didn't messed it up.
