@@BoriorZ according to the wiki, checking year 1 completeable guarantees that the SEED gets sold y1, not the actual cabbage. However, the traveling cart does seem to be able to sell almost anything so I'm sure she also sells the cabbage itself sometimes
@@asterparsic3693 Yeah i just checked too, and though both are sold by the travelling merchant, the check only apply to the seed. However, the wiki also state that it can only appear, and i quote "between spring 7 in the Forest (the cart's second visit) and winter 16" Since red cabbage take 9 days to grow, it's possible with the greenhouse only once summer ended. I guess silencegames must have missed the day it was sold :D

I’m doing my very first completing the community centre farm (because I’m shit at this game) and I found that little setting and my dumbass said “oh yeah remixed bundles that will be cool!!!” Sometimes I hate myself
@@georgerobins4110 probably the same reason I, a player with almost no game time, almost turned on remix bundles. It sounds cool, n it sounds like an updated version, so it must be better right? No one wants to play an "older" version of the game. Only reason I didn't is because I knew people played this game wayy too much n that it might actually make it harder, i tried looking it up online but the one i looked at didnt specifically say what it changed, just that for veteran players it might spice the game up alittle. Wish they added a little note saying *not recommend for new players* because it is so easy to turn everything to remixed without really knowing what it does.
He's such an amazing game developer in how he gets involved in the game's community and constantly updates the game with exciting new content and quality of life updates that make the community happy. I wish more devs were like him.

Eric is the goat fr, You can see how much he genuinely cares about his games community with every update. This is truly his passion and it shows. He always has me on the edge of my seat with any update because I know he not only looks at feedback but everything he creates is fire.
I played split screen with my friend over one weekend and he was like “ight I’m gonna go farm some ore and then fish the rest of the day so we can maximize our profits” while on my side of the screen I was just decorating the farm 😂
If you play with mods, there are easier/more common ways to get Sprinklers while also enjoying a casual playtrough. If you install Stardew Valley Expanded for example, one of the new NPC's gives you a Quality Sprinkler as a 'Welcome to the Valley' gift soon after meeting her, and she tells you that you can buy more from her. The base game NPC Krobus, once you meet him, also occasionally sells Iridium Sprinklers for 10k.
I was surprised to get 3 red cabbage seeds at the end of a skull cavern run. Pretty nice except I'm in the end game. I guess it's fun for some to see how fast they can get the CC finished...I was just happy to finish it at a moderate pace, room by room.
That's happened to me once. And that's was year 1 in winter lol. I got red cabbage before some of others things (wasn't focus on completion of community centre)
@@thisismelwalker on one of my saves that is in year 1 winter, and I’ve only got pumpkins and corn on the quality crops bundle so it doesn’t matter about the red cabbage seed.
I went for a second perfection run recently and decided to try and finish the community center in year 1, but I had no idea the “guarantee year 1 completion” was a thing. I didn’t get the red cabbage in the cart either, but I actually got a cabbage seed drop in the skull caverns and completed the community center by summer 26th! It was an awesome feeling
Same here, I didnt know that option existed. I got my red cabbage in traveling merchant not thinking it was really that rare. Finished in mid Winter of Year 1 lol
Damn, that must have been a really lucky merchant/bat cave run to give you the like 16 or so items you can't get normally without going into fall/winter.

Why are all the response negative? Alejando did not say that there is anything wrong with Speedrun. Nor sis he say that there is anything wrong with just playing the game and chill out. You are not forced to be competitive, but you also have the option. This game is reallt versatile and allows to find you own play style, there is not right or wrong way to play this game. And this is by design
My first ever playthrough of the game I set out to complete the center in 1 year, and I actually did it. I realize now how insanely lucky I needed to have been, cause i had no clue about the cabbage being a cart only drop
i’m not even a min max player and i got a red cabbage out of pure luck from the travelling cart. she was selling two so i bought both and turned the second one into seeds :)
just completed this challenge winter 25 on my iPad a couple weeks ago. Got the red cabbage 1st at the end of summer, and it showed up again in the fall. The last items i need to complete the community was actually the pomegranate and the red apples because I planted the trees in the greenhouse late fall.
For those who don’t know, the Traveling Merchant appears on Sundays and Fridays. This info is from my experience in the game, so they may appear on another day that I don’t know about yet.
I complained on reddit that every festival each year all the people say and do the same thing and I am on my second year and everything is slightly different for the summer festivals.
The seed could also be found in skull caverns as a treasure room prize and monster drop, which means it was always doable as long as you were willing to grind for it.
Serpents in the caverns drop them since 1.5, so you can do year 1 red cabbage that way as well, good for people who always forget the cart or do lots of skull cavern anyways.
I never do this but this game had me enamored from the start, so I sent an email to Concerned Ape thanking him for making the game and what it meant to me at the time. He ACTUALLY responded, i was starstruck.
Year two summer red cabbage is available from Pierre’s, you can complete your greenhouse year one and have like three things left to do before fall year two. Even the ginger island ferry
I never clicked the 1yr guarantee, I almost never go to the traveling cart because I forget... Then in spring yr 1 I went because I was near and there it was , the red cabbage! So took it as fate and did the run to complete the community center in yr 1. Did it and the did perfection in that save. That's usually not how I play but it was fun to grind for stuff 😂
Funny enough, most of the time, i would get the red cabbage seed from serpents in year one. But my problem would be other things like a fish i missed, truffle, and nautilus shell ( I legit had a whole winter where it didn't spawn)
Imagine needing the red cabbage and then accidentally sleeping over or skipping the one that actually has the red cabbage and then you still don’t get it until year two
I started playing for the first time about a month ago. Saw that the sales lady had a red cabbage but didn’t buy it, bc I didn’t realize I needed it. Only got the community center up and running summer of year 2😂
In my latest game I was waiting for the cabbage. I went to the travelling merchant and as I was going up to them I said to myself 'If I'm lucky I'll-' then I noticed a cabbage and bought it immediately and immediately submitted it
Nah, the limiting item is holly or nautilus shell. If they're not required, you can complete community center mid autumn. *Red cabbage seed is included in skull cavern's monsters loot table.
SDV was on my radar around 2020 and i decided to pirate it on mobile just to try. loved the game so much and finished the game about 200 hours until i lost my phone with that save. fast forward today, i bought the game on pc just to support this wholesome dev
Impossible. The merchant offers new merchandise every time it comes to town. I agree that sometimes the merchant does offer completely useless stuff, tho. Plus, it quickly becomes irrelevant as you progress in the game.
I found it and it was the first I ever saw a red cabbage so I got it for the community center. Then somehow missed where it was supposed to go and sold it only to see that it was needed for Emily's 😅
I’m new the game only got it couple weeks ago took me until summer of year 2 & yep the last 3 items were 3 Apples ( was hoping fruit bats would help but they didn’t so had to grow a tree, a Truffle from a pig never saw it in any of the merchants trades & was the only animal I had to get & of course the Red Cabbage for last lol
If I recall correctly I've got some stuff that was only going to be sold in year two by planting mixed seeds at the start of the Year alongside my money crops.
