EV Training in Pokémon is Easy! In this video I will explain all the ins and outs of Pokémon EV Training and the best strategies you can use for it.
How To EV Train in Pokémon?
There are many ways to train a Pokémon's Effort Values. You can use vitamins like Calcium or Protein. Or you can battle Pokémon that each give of specific EVs after they are defeated. Some generations of Pokémon also came with their own gimmick to make EV training easier. Like Super Training in Generation 6 or EV Seminars in Generation 8 for example.

how do you guys keep track of your ev training? i thought i had my latios´ speed maxed out then out of curiosity gave it a carbos and it worked which i think means its speed evs where below the vitamin thresh hold which made me question if i even trained its evs at all.

this video was helpful! still a bit confused with how the stat boosts from EV training manifest but i assume they just distribute evenly as you level up until you're max which is when you probably gain a substantial boost in the stats you ev trained

if you give your lead pokemon the macho brace, and an another pokemon exp share, the amount of evs that the pokemon with exp share will receive are halved or are just normal?

@officedullard8722 The system in gen 1 is too easy. Every 16 pokemon you defeat gains you a Stat point. There is no cap, so its essentially unlimited. Meaning you can use a single pokemon for the entire game to.overpower it like.crazy.

Can I get some tips on EV Training a Volt Tackle Pikachu in Emerald? From what I've read, Pikachu doesn't have a good base HP stat, but I just got Volt Tackle Pichu and I want to try it for the Battle Frontier. I'm using this formula: 128/128/252/2 ± Nature + Badges. Simply: spread to increase strengths, cover weaknesses and nature debuffs with the Badge buffs and pouring 252 EVs into the Nature-weakened stat. The 2 useless EVs get put into a random stat. I have the Good Rod and access to the Super Rod for farming Tentacool/Tentacruel EVs. It has the Rash Nature. As an unrelated note, I'm naming it Red for obvious reasons.

Hello. I am a new Emerald player. I have never focused on EV training. I picked up a female Mudkip. I can't compete, but I'm wanting to be ready for the post-game. My prospective team is Swampert, Pelipper as a helper/tank (Supersonic works wonders on catching tough Pokemon) Linoone as a hack-and-slash expert with Covet to loot Rich Boy Winston and Lady Cindy's Nugget-holding Linoone, Aggron as a physical wall, Swellow as a speedy glass cannonball (hit first, hit once) with Aerial Ace to OKHO Fighting Pokemon, and either Mightyena, Sharpedo, or Gyarados as balanced fighters leaning toward Attack and Speed. I'm not necessarily going to always use the Macho Brace, and hopefully my final team will all have Pokerus. I looked up the EV guide on Marilland as well as did RU-vid research (shout-out to Grumpy Gengar), but is there anything I could do to get better at it and possibly speed up contracting Pokerus? I read that post-game challenges have EV-trained Pokemon.

but...lvl 20-70 normaly trained with ev gains pokemon vs lv20 up to 70 trained with macho brace ...the same opponents. will the macho brace lvl 70 pokemon be stronger ? because i tried once...and after lvl 50 my pokemon (with macho brace) gained only 1, 1 ,1, 2, 1 1 all the time

I tried to give my bagon 26 calcium caps but I was only able to do 10 and I even lowered all of the other stats. What's going on?
@ThePikachunianRebel

Each Vitamin is worth 10 EV's. Pre Gen 8, only 100 EVs could be gotten by this method. This video mentions that.

Is there a limit on how many ev points you can gain on one Pokémon? For example it I continuously EV train swampert for speed will his speed keep increasing and increasing until he maxes out at lvl100?
@ZebraheadFreak
@ZebraheadFreak Год назад
Yes I believe there's a max EV cap per each level.
@tannerhopster6448
@tannerhopster6448 Год назад
@@ZebraheadFreak so if you don’t start ev training as early level as possible you miss out on potential Evs?
@ZebraheadFreak
@ZebraheadFreak Год назад
I used to think that. No because you can only go up to 500 ev points per pokemon. There should be enough levels before lv100 to get your pokemon assigned the evs you want. Idk what the limit is per level for a category of evs.
@wraxiusgaming
@wraxiusgaming Год назад
There is a cap of 510 evs that can be given, as explained in the video, and only 252 can go to each stat. So if you train your Swampert in speed, it will get 252 speed evs, but won't go beyond that.

@@wraxiusgaming bro i kinda wanna know bcuz i killed 13 numels and an accidental 1 marill with my kirlia holding a macho brace do i get 26 evs in spcl attck? And does it like increase my base stts in spcial attck? If so by how many bcuz my kirlia was lvl 27 and had a base spcl attck of 49 and when i lvl it up it turned to 52 is that normal? My nature is serious(neutral)

I guess I haven’t really comprehended this EV stuff yet. For example, if Sceptile already has a base Speed stat of 120, making it faster than most of the pokemon in its generation, why does the guide recommend us to invest its EV points into speed? Wouldn’t that be a waste? Considering I’m not playing competitive and won’t really face many other faster pokemon than Sceptile in my ORAS playthrough, shouldn’t I invest in something like SPDefense? Can somebody let me know if I’m wrong?
@ThePikachunianRebel
@ThePikachunianRebel Месяц назад
From personal experience, I can say there's ONE Pokemon faster than a non-EV Trained Sceptile... May's Mega Blaziken. Speed Boost made her ace so fast not even an X Speed helped.

@@pedrofz05 best strat I can give for non-EV training to beat May with Sceptile is Swellow with this moveset: Fly, Air Slash, Steel Wing, and Aerial Ace. Mine got so overpowered it could OHKO most opponents with either Fly or Aerial Ace. Steel Wing can raise Defense by one stage. On May's side, Blaze Kick has a high critical hit rate. A Pokemon like Aggron should be able to take it. Just don't Mega evolve it. Goes pure Steel-type rather than Rock/Steel. If you feel daring, try Skarmory with Sturdy. Mine took Overheat and survived to see me win the Lavaridge Town Gym battle.
